  1. If Jason is as nice now as he was as a 12-13 year old, then he's very sweet. One of my kids was an understudy for him (and the other kid actor) in a pre-broadway play run (play did end up on Broadway with Jason). I think it was one of his first big things and he and his mom were very nice to my kid. The other child actor had done some stuff in LA and was really full of himself. I'll always remember Jason fondly for that.
  2. I thought they just take off the month of august.
  3. I assumed they were booing that she made such a stupid comment about Pres. biden. That was that theme in Trumps campaign when Biden was taking covid precautions.
  4. Have noticed it as well and agree. Everyone on camera seems to be doing lip injections these days for whatever reason. However, I’m find her pretty tolerable so far this week. I think I’d be ok with her.
  5. Thank you Sara! The whole breastfeeding thing really needed to be said. It just doesn’t always work and women are still being chastised for that.
  6. Alyssa…those are things that should be in place regardless of Roe…maternal health, child care, parental leave, health care, etc. Those are things almost all, of not all, first world (and many third world) countries have had for a very long time. Plus allowing abortion. It’s not either/or here! And, it sounds like you basically admitted that, if your party gets Roe overturned as well as a federal ban, there will be a much greater need to beef up foster care because you’ll be forcing women who can’t afford/don’t want children to have them (not to mention those who are victims of rape and nicest ). So explain to me how your party cares about families and children?
  7. exactly--like this weeks cohost saying biden could get rid of the filibuster on his own. minimal research would have given her the correct answer there, but I guess that's too much work these days?
  8. I think the difference is that she’s making note that she may have it wrong in some way. Those she criticizes for alternative facts (which isn’t a thing) are stating something that they generally know isnt right but are stating it as a pan actual fact.
  9. I just read through his tweets and he really nails her behavior and implies that Cindy, at least, recognized she'd raised a monster ego.
  10. Sorta like the Oscar’s when a movies nominated but not the director…the director is the movie for the most part.
  11. Totally agree she’s not that likeable. Talks waaaaay too fast (a la MM). And I’ve found myself yelling at the tv more with her than many of the others. Please no. Either way she’s not a good fit for many reasons.
  12. Everyone talks about it and I keep googling it but the only source that looks like it will quote the joke has a paywall. Can someone please tell us what the joke was?
  13. That really bothered me…she even doubled down on it before she had to backtrack. I’m sure she knew that would be one of her points today so why didn’t she at least make sure she was correct. I don’t like her either…and the fast talking is so annoying…exactly what you know who used to do. I don’t mind someone being forceful in Their opinion but at least make sure you’re not making something up. And does she really think he’s not been trying to rally and gather the troops all these months? Hope she’s not the one.
  14. I’d say that we don’t really know what happened then…especially in poor neighborhoods. Was that an exaggeration…perhaps. But that doesn’t at all negate everything she said, which I thought was pretty well said and passionate and true. Maybe folks weren’t stepping over people but I’m sure that many were found in public bathrooms after attempting one. Nor does it negate her point, which was that pre Roe it was bad out there for people needing abortions. And many women died (or permanently injured)from botched, back room or self done abortions. This is an issue that screams for the kind of stuff Whoopie said to drive home the real issues here.
  15. hyperbole implies that the statements are exaggerated and not meant to be taken literally. I think what she has to say about abortion and what it was like before Roe is truth and most definitely not hyperbole. Part of the reason we are here with this likely ruling is because we didn't see enough passion and people pretended like nothing was going to change things.
  16. Not sure what you mean. Today is Yom Hashoah…Holocaust Remembrance Day. I’m not sure it was done because of Whoopie and more because it’s important to remember given things that have happened around the world recently.
  17. I watched her documentary series and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t wear a wig. She left that traditions of that other life.
  18. Not sure about Alyssa….she’s really asking where he’s going to work with the Rs in the future? He’s been desperately trying to do that from the beginning. Does she not listen to what her fellow Rs say? They’ve made it extremely clear they won’t work with him period. Am already yelling at the TV again and I really don’t want the show to become that again!
  19. And she said she just turned 40!
  20. Great point! I was thinking the same thing this week listening to all of them rectory when she misinformed. That was something that was clearly not allowed when MM was in the show. Having these other potential hosts really highlights how much they were all muzzled around MM.
  21. Stephanie had to resort to the criminals coming over…and hate to burst your bubble but the drugs get here whether or not ther are immigrants at the border. And most of these people would like to legally immigrate, but with their families in danger in their home countries, they can’t wait the 10-15 years it would take them since the immigration requirements for them are onerous and the wait list is years long (note, I believe the wait list isnt nearly as long if you’re a non Hispanic/black person coming from somewhere like Europe or Asia.
  22. I think what sunny wants is the normal/former R party..the one that worked for the citizens and was willing to compromise and work with the Ds. I mean sunny is correct that Ana’s party is not the R party today. And Ana’s right that we need two parties. What Ana hasnt said is how she thinks that can happen with the R party as it is today.
  23. Daily Mail (so take it for what is worth) says those nearby said she smiled throughout the confrontation. And their two kids seem to think it was pretty great too. I’ve been wondering the same thing. Did they all still think this was a comedy bit? If they knew what had actually happened, then the standing ovation was just wrong.
  24. Unless someone proves he knew about the alopecia (and reports I’ve read said he didn’t), it was a pretty benign joke for an awards show. On the BAFTAs Rebel Wilson’s joke was about wills best acting job being his reaction to his wife’s boyfriends. Didn’t even see angry tweet about that. It’s not like it’s cancer and she’s dying from it. She’s also worn a close shaven hair style a lot before this. Rudeness by comics at awards show is expected by these people..they live in a rarified world and expect comics to insert some reality in there. They attend knowing this, especially when you’re in front. So while I would generally agree with you on teaching kids not to be rude, this is a different situation. And today I actually agreed with Tara…she made a good point that the R party has been in this slide since the 90s…trump just brought it to a head. Sunny tried to blame it all on him, but he’s simply the logical result of the road they’ve been on for many years. So far in her times on the show I haven’t really minded her as a cohost…we could do worse.
  25. Rebel Wilson hosted the BAFTAs and made a joke about them, though he wasn’t there. Said that she thought his best acting job recently was acting ok with all of his wife’s partners. Apparently no angry tweet about it from him though he sort of commented on the quip in an interview where he just noted they have an open marriage. They’ve put all their laundry out there over the years and to assume there wouldn’t be jokes is truly ridiculous. And Rocks joke wasn’t even that bad given the fact that he’s apparently said he didn’t know about the alopecia situation (and she’s had that close shaved hair look before). It was a nothing thing and the fact that his impulse was to slug someone is really odd and scary.
