  1. Joy is radical left?? Really Meghan? And please stop saying “I will say”...just say it. And with a D senator I’m not sure AZ is a deep red state any longer. And her examples are pretty basic that many people on both sides support (e.g. strong military, patriotic, etc) though I think small government and pro life are contradictory. Loved Ana speaking up as she actually thinks about things and what she stands for as a Republican. And she is the old time republican when that party actually worked for the country and stood for actual values. And she’s right..this is the trump party now and you have to bow down. Meghan needs to listen sometimes and actually think rather than spout crap. This is not the Republican Party those of us who grew up in the 50’s and 60’s knew, nor the party her father knew. It’s a very different party that Ana can’t identify with and Meghan is the poster child for...abortion and gun rights are their most important issues.
  2. It’s the Daily Mail so take with a grain of salt, but perhaps a light at the end of the tunnel? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7111889/Whoopi-Goldberg-breaking-point-Meghan-McCain-View.html
  3. I agree. Sorry Meghan but it wasn’t the D’s whose leadership has said multiple times that there purpose is to block anything bipartisan or proposed by the other party. The primary problem is the R’s Meghan and you should at least recognize that a little bit (has she ever criticized McConnell on the snow?)in your speeches.
  4. I thought the same thing. She can’t even talk about something she knows without reading it from those cards. She can’t do anything extemporaneously apparently, except when she’s screeching about her feelings.
  5. Just saw this article this a.m. I think it sums up everyone's thought nicely (and an added bonus with a short article on Ben Shapiro). "toxic femininity"--I think the guardian has her number on this! https://www.theguardian.com/world/commentisfree/2019/may/11/meghan-mccain-john-mccains-daughter-is-the-very-definition-of-toxic-femininity
  6. I’m also tired of her stating it’s solely the Democrats responsibility to get rid of him. If so many mainstream Republicans (like MM and AH) truly don’t like him and what he’s doing, then she and her ilk should stand up and take back their party from him. She’s always skirting their own responsibility for him. And I agree with those who thought she tried a bit too hard to make sure everyone knew she looooved the SNL parody of her!
  7. I’ve finally figured out who MM reminds me of with the overzealous reactions (particularly on non political topics). She’s like the girl who tries to hang out with the man re popular girls and then always laughs too loudly at a joke or jumps into the conversations with outsized agreement. Just trying way too hard to be part in of the group.
  8. Generally I’ve found that people, who protest that much or get that defensive about an attribute (e.g smart) deep down they k on that they don’t have it. It think she proved that true today. And the whole scandal thing was ridiculous...if she was actually smart she’d know the difference between a scandal and a difference of opinion on policy.
  9. I’ve been wondering why she’s always in something high waisted and tight emphasizing the girls and stomach. It’s not a flattering look...agree should wear things that skim the top a bit more. She did that one day recently and looked a lot better.
  10. Actually it sounded to me like MM said you WERE invited to Joy. She slightly emphasized the ‘were’. My CC also showed “were” not “weren’t”. I figured she says enough stupid stuff to fill each day so maybe this wasn’t one of them?
  11. I would disagree on the liberal Zionist definition. My take (and I would have called myself the same) is that BW is saying she is someone who wants the state of Israel to continue to exist but disagrees with the current policies (e.g. settlements, 3 rd class citizenry, putting the US embassy in Jerusalem, etc.) and is wants to see Israel work with the Palestinian government to achieve some type of peace/co-existence. At least that’s what I took away from her.
  12. Re: Elizabeth warren. It’s important to note that she put Native American on her bar application but ethnicity has nothing to do with bar admittance. She gained no advantage by doing that. Bar admittance is only based the bar exam and “moral character” (e.g. no convictions of crimes, plagiarism in law school, etc). I saw this as simply being proud of what she thought was a Native American heritage fro her family’s history. My family always said we were Welsh...that’s all I heard growing up. But when we were able to do genealogy research, turns out we were just plain English. One always assumes the family lore is right.
  13. Did anyone think Meghan spent an unusually long time staring at the sex room photo? She looked at if for a long time as they started, then turned to the table and then went back to looking at the photo. And then during the discussion she continued to glance back at it. It was interesting.
  14. Just watched Friday. Did she use a new word “premeditated” when she actually should have said it’s was premature? She was talking about judging the half timemshow before we see it and thought judging was premeditated. I think she meant premature? What an idiot. If you’re going to use new words, figure out what they mean first,
  15. When I was growing up in KS in the 60’s) (and we are actually the middle of the Midwest!), and through college, I was a Republican. At that time the party had many prominent members (e.g Nelson Rockefeller) who were progressive on social issues but conservative fiscally and, sometimes, militarily. when newt Gingrich came along in the 80’s is when i saw the party shift dramatically to the right with the appeal to evangelicals and making anti abortion and anti gay issues prominent. At that point I had already moved towards the Democrats, but that shift ended it all for me with Republicans. So the R’s were a very different party not that long ago. And the points about Barry Goldwater and his wife are telling. In the 60’s he was considered to be way far right but not that long ago his granddaughter noted (didn’t she write a book a few years ago, about those?) that he wouldn’t recognize today’s party as it has swung so right. Big shift.
  16. I was half listening but I thought what joy responded to was a question as to why the media perhaps jumped all, over it before checking on additional info (which I don’t think would change the media’s original presentation of the incident..see my comments earlier). And she said because people want to get rid of trump...I.e. showcasing an incident of trump supporters harassing a Native American vet. Another note on sending kids on an anti abortion rights march as community service....I’m thinking the IRS mightclassify that as political activity and those schools getting tax exempt status aren’t supposed to be involved in political lobbying.
  17. Re: teens in MAGA hats. I don’t know if this info wasn’t available whe the show was taped, but I’ve since read that they harassed a woman earlier in the day (on tape) and the school has allowed students to use blackface at games and harass African American players. So I don’t think there’s any reason to feel sorry for these kids; I don’t think there was any big misunderstanding; and, as others have said, whatever the group said to the teens before has no bearing on what they did after.
  18. Someone wondered about Abby’s husband. I googled him and there’s not much. He’s Jeffrey Bruce Livingston and is a principal at a large global investment group, dealing in private equities. He also sits on a couple of boards. The article I found estimated his net worth at 20 million. I also didn’t realize that Abby had left the Mormon church several years ago. So a bit of an independent thinker in some ways and at least her degree is in political science! i also wondered, after the “I’m still talking” comments by MM (and joys retort) as well as the same comment by Sunny to MM, if the producers have finally indicated that the others don’t have to tiptoe around MM’s giant ego this year. Hope so! And why can’t they send her to speech school to learn how to moderate her voice. I get that they like the “fighting” for the ratings, but they don’t have to allow the screeching. If the screech level was down a few notches it would help a bit. I’d still yell at the TV but I wouldn’t have to mute it as often.
  19. Funny! That’s more or less what my dad said years ago. We were to fly over my home town, dump the ashes and he hoped everyone who he disliked or who had screwed with him got ashes in his/her eyes.
  20. I agree with you. She had her dad until he was 81 and had a few months to say goodbye. My mom died at 67 suddenly and my dad at 75, also suddenly. I still miss them but even in the first few weeks of losing them I didn’t feel the need to publicly display my grief constantly. To me it’s a private, family thing and not something to constantly splash all over your social media and at your job. She definitely needs some kind of counseling about this. And if she hadn’t been mean and nasty and shrieking before he died I might give her a little pass, though that time would be running out at this point too. Sometimes the louder and more frequently you talk about something, the less you actually mean it? Methinks the lady doth protest too much? And today she once again interrupted and yelled over people who were talking. She can’t let anyone finish their point yet is very upset if someone does it to her. If she was my age, I’d say she had to interrupt before she forgot what she wanted to say (😉), but she isn’t! She needs to go back to a political show where the idea is to constantly argue and speak loudly...this is a show where they’re supposed to have conversations from different viewpoints.
  21. And did everyone forget the multiple, expensive Benghazi “investigations” the Republicans kept having and each resulting in nothing because there was nothing there?
  22. I also don’t understand wh MMs comments go u checked by anyone. Does they not say anything in their pre meeting about what they will bring up on the show? Does she take them by surprise and they don’t have the facts to respond? Earlier comment was correct that essentially all campaigns end up with some campaign violations, including other republicans and democrats but they are usually minor things that happen when you’re talking millions of dollars and donors. Obama’s violations were civil and most were technical things and were in historical, proportion to the amount he raised. They were NOT criminal violations and someone on that show needs to make sure lies and inaccurate info isn’t going out. Also I’ll say that MM rarely “tells” us anything about trump supporters that I haven’t already read somewhere. She forgets that most progressives actually read news and articles that provide us with info on both sides.
  23. New poster. Been reading for a few months...usually before I watch the show. For those wondering about today’s blowup with joy and MM, here’s a little story behind the scenes. Sounds like she doesn’t limit her attitude and language to just the co-hosts but also the brass.. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6455991/The-Views-Joy-Behar-Meghan-McCain-blow-tribute-George-Bush.html
