  1. I thought it was because the FWTD world is SO nice valet parking is available.
  2. You know what concerns me. Going back to when Madison was still with us (bless her soul), we spent so much time (relatively) being introduced to the baddies in the RVs. Then, BOOM, they were gone (as was Madison). Then, this season (maybe it started at the end of last season) we had Max Headroom as the Big Baddie. Then, BOOM, he was gone. Now we have the horses-and-hats people. Putting aside the actresses horrible voice and acting skill, why am I supposed to care or get invested in her and her squad? Because if history plays out, she will, BOOM, be gone. This show seems incapable of writing a bad guy. Not having something like that sucks any drama this show might have. Of course, there are the helicopter people. But who knows where, or when, that will develop. But see, it’s that word develop. TPTB seem incapable of developing character. Witness Nick, Strand, and now Daniel, a former master of torture who is now everyone’s favorite uncle.
  3. Oh, look. The show’s been on 45 minutes and I’ve found nothing to say. Keep up the scintillating writing, fellas.
  4. Although I am the "right age," I never watched the show. I was aware of it, and saw bits of it, and am familiar with the house. But I didn't watch it. However, like others noted above, I was oddly moved by the episode last night. Yes, I know -- nothing but nostalgia. Turning to more practical matters: I echo the question — Who the heck is going to buy this thing? I assume when we get to the kitchen, they will insist in using "period" appliances. How's that going to go over with a 21st century family? I know there are "retro" fridges, stoves, coffee makers . . . but do they work? Are they built to last? Did they have microwave ovens in the late 60s? One last thing: The couch was butt-ugly and didn't look particularly comfortable. So?????????
  5. I wonder how many bullets John Dorie used killing all those Walkers? I wonder where John Dorie got all those bullets? You’re either running low on bullets or not.
  6. Okay, now that was a nice twist. Good job, show.
  7. How can the Walkers walk after falling off the cliff? Their bones would break like so much balsa wood.
  8. There’s no tension, no drama, no intrigue. I mean — what is the point.
  9. I need to buy the Cliff Notes because this show is making no sense. Everyone, fully armed and not tied up, is standing around just talking like a dysfunctional family.
  10. Why is this an impasse? I mean, really?
  11. I just saw an ad for Mr. Robot. I never saw the show, but I know it’s been well-received. The ad I just saw said it was ending this year after three seasons. Think of FTWD and how it’s been dribbling out nonsense this last season or two (or longer). Just think if it had maintained its promise when it first aired to show the world falling apart near the beginning. The first season, though not perfect, was so much better because it focused on the “surprise” of the apocalypse. It could have run for 3 or 4 seasons then, through clever writing, be wrapped into TWD. But, alas, no. The bean-counters are being greedy and milking the cash-cow for everything they can, quality be damned. Soon, we’re going to have a very special “kid’s edition.”
  12. Mid-episode I got so desperate I got up and threw some paint on the wall to watch it dry. Yep ... watching paint dry WAS more exciting.
  13. I thought you were supposed to kneel when entering a pew?
  14. They need the beer balloon to float over the Walkers. We haven’t seen that in a few shows.
  15. Eastbound and down, loaded up and truckin’
  16. I’m not sure if we’ve hit rock bottom, but we’re pretty close.
  17. I know many of us are confused as to how much time has passed on FWTD especially when compared to TWD, and though I don't want to get into it because, largely, I don't care all that much, I found it interesting that there'd been enough time to have gone by so that the Walker at the beginning of the show had managed to get overgrown in ivy. Sidenote# 2 — Many mentioned how and why the mall last week hadn't been picked clean. This week there's a police station that still had lots of guns and ammo. Is this a Texas-thing? Sidenote# 3 — Are the oil wells or gas pumps or whatever it is Max Headroom keeps asking for the place that Al's, um, special friend showed her a few episodes back?
  18. This show is in a bad-way, what with so many characters. Has TPTB ever shown a major character on this show get killed in a gruesome way? (For comparison, think Glenn, Abraham, Noah, etc from TWD). I don’t think so. Travis’s son (remember him?) died off camera. Travis fell out of a helicopter. Okay, now Nick had a straight-up death, but though surprising, it wasn’t gruesome. And Madison had the old-fashioned Day Crockett death at the Alamo, going down swinging, but no death shown. I think TBTB on this show (and I know there have been a few) are afraid of showing character’s death, except in a noble way. So, Houston, we have a problem!!! p.s. I’m not talking about secondary characters, like the two sons of the rancher. I’m talking MAIN characters.
  19. I've not been paying attention (sometimes it's all I can do to stay awake), but I don't think any one actor has had substantially more air time than any other character, with the exception of Morgan and, possibly, Alicia, and Morgan is faraway had gotten more air time than Alicia. (And that makes sense, at least to me, because they are, to me, rightly or wrongly, the leads.) Although, honestly, I think the trucker couple (whatever their names are) have been forgotten for so long they'll have to be reintroduced to the audience. Honestly, I don't get the point of having such a large cast, except maybe something you said — Maybe all these secondary characters, Dories, Al, June, etc, only get a small amount of money for what — if you add up every minute they are on screen — equals a "guest star role." Not to pick on these actors, but I didn't see anyone beating down their doors to get them to star in their own projects. So better be on FTWD for all of 12 minutes than not be in anything.
  20. I'm with you!!! I was thinking of the movie 300, where the Spartans piled all the dead bad guys into a huge wall. Did no one on our team see that movie?
  21. Exactly! Some of these episodes have been mildly interesting, which I think is the general consensus. I think there's also a general consensus on what isn't working (too many characters, the caravan vs. settling down and growing things, etc) But this show, bless its little heart, can't seem to right itself. One other thing that I've been thinking for awhile. (Post-Madison's departure.) The violence seems almost tame. The Walkers are not as threatening, and that seems, I don't know, deliberate. It's like FTWD is the PG-13 version of TWD. I think that's why some of these episodes go down easier than otherwise. If they were hardcore violence and tenser than crap, yet as poorly written, I might have checked out by now.
  22. It probably doesn’t pay to dig too deeply into motivation, but it does seem many of us are sitting here going “What the hell?” As in, what IS the plan? Are they going to drive around the country picking up all the good strays they find by the side of the road? Will Morgan be willing to put down the bad strays? He was asked last night what would happen if he ran into the bad guy (blanking on name). He basically said, after some hemming and hawing, that they’d try to work it out. Hey, Morgan, what if the bad guys are like the Wolves you encountered in Alexandria? Listan, driving around going good deeds is, well, a good deed. But you need a plan. Build a base of operations. Like the place Daniel had, or even the shopping mall once cleared. Then send teams out on jaunts, gathering new intel, supplies and good people. If you grow too big, move. But this whole convoy thing seems to be more of a pain in the ass than anything. Now, if they had established they had a goal, then fine. But TPTB haven’t given us that.
  23. I guess Disney doesn’t have anything to do with this show, but I could see a ride coming.
