The BBC officially announced that Anjli Mohindra (previously of the Who spinoff the Sarah Jane Adventures) and Laura Fraser (British series The Missing, US series Better Call Saul) will guest star in Series 12 https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2019/dw-anjli-laura?ns_mchannel=social&ns_linkname=corporate&ns_source=twitter&ns_campaign=bbc_press_office
Spoilers have Mohindra playing an alien Queen in Episode 4. I haven't heard who Fraser is supposed to play

I'm liking the Crisis crossover for the most part, even though it's pretty busy. One of the things that bugs me though is that too many people are too often just sitting around doing nothing or chatting with other folks. For such a huge crisis, too many are not being utilized correctly
Is there an explanation for the Spectre thing with Oliver?

Metro interview with Jodie, mostly personal, some show stuff https://www.metro.news/jodie-whittaker/1828043/
Among other things she said, she loves Doctor Who memorabilia and owns a Funko Pop Doctor. While talking about fan-girling, she indicated she was super-enthusiastic about Russell Davies' series "Years and Years" and practically stalked him to let him know how much she loved it. Hopefully she'll team up with Davies down the road; I enjoyed what he did with show-running Doctor Who
FYI, for British viewers. It's likely the clip will be available afterwards on the Internet

From Facebook, new Target Books novelizations next Summer, including last season’s The Witchfinders
I possibly mentioned this somewhere else, but BBC America will have a marathon of the revived Doctor Who starting Christmas Eve through New Year's Day. The network will also debut the animated lost episode "The Macra Terror" on Thursday Dec 26. See the above link for the press release. It also talks about Series 12

From what I read, they were lucky to get eight episodes at all...CBS wanted to end it last season but cooler heads prevailed and they gave them a final season but only eight episodes. It was nice that they ended it with all the gang back for Stevie's wedding. I had hoped see Bebe Neuwirth (Nadine Tolliver) return for the wedding scenes but, alas, it wasn't to be. And yes...that was Peter Frampton!
That doesn't surprise me given they were only given 10 episodes instead of 22. Sometimes CBS does a decent job allowing shows a final season to say goodbye (The Good Wife), but usually you don't even know when a season ends that CBS has decided to cancel it (Scorpion, Two Broke Girls). At least MS had a final season, even if it was short. I just wish they hadn't decided to go down the Impeachment route. It ended up being wrapped up too quickly and easily
And honestly, ending last season probably would have been fine, as Bess was preparing to run for President. An abbreviated last season that was weighed down by an Impeachment story where Bess was a new President probably didn't need to be told, especially for a very abbreviated last season

NCIS: New Orleans will get the spot come mid-season (starting Feb 16). It's probably the worst spot for a CBS show, too often being pushed late. That spot has one of the worst ratings for CBS

Though I thought this season didn’t have enough episodes to breath and felt rushed (and the impeachment story was unwelcome and had a rushed ending), it was a beautiful finale. I’ll miss this show
Was that Peter Frampton as the last singer at the wedding?

Per someone's tweet, Jodie pretty much confirms she's staying for Series 13 in an interview where she's quoted: "this isn’t the last series I’ll play the doctor". I can't recall the source article, but I saw a scan earlier of a magazine article where she stated it.

It appears this will be the first time the show has broadcast a season in Winter (Jan to March) since it was revived. What are ratings like on UK TV in that time period?
@SnideAsides it’s possible UNIT or its agents gets taken out in whatever is happening or is still shut down
Chibnall has confirmed in interviews that the characters of Tesla (guest Goran Visnjic) and Edison (guest Robert Glenister) will be in the 4th episode, written by Nina Metivier. He also indicated that James Buckley will guest in Episode 3

Per Cultbox, the apparent full cast list for the Spyfall two parter https://cultbox.co.uk/news/doctor-who-series-12-spyfall-cast-and-character-names
The list and Cultbox are suggesting Spyfall is an actual two parter and the second episode is broadcast on the 12th, suggesting 11 episodes vs 10. Hopefully things will get more clear as we get closer to the premiere

Soap Opera Digest had a BTS picture of Michael Knight and James Stuart on GH with a caption about their times on AMC and I had forgotten they had worked together before, so a nice reunion for them. Michael just needs to work out his accent. Now I now some people who have had an accent can have it come and go at times, but his is absurd and fleeting

For those who haven't gone into the Series 12 spoiler thread, BBC America and Fathom Events will be screening the first two episodes at 600 theaters in the US on Jan 5 plus a cast Q&A from the Paley Center. I got a ticket so I'll be able to see the 2nd episode on a movie screen about the same time as British viewers are seeing it at home

Thanks, I guess I couldn't tell this time as I'm not usually terrible at guessing the accent. I wish he'd be consistent about it

Is Michael Knight occasionally trying for some sort of uppercrust accent with his character? It seems to come and go and it's distracting. Other than that, I like seeing Michael back on screen, but they need to do more with his character. I guess he was ok with taking a small (for now) role

BBC America and Fathom event to see the first 2 episodes in theaters in the US on Jan 5. Tickets are now available. One theater is close to me so I’m considering going
ETA: I ended up getting a ticket. It will mean seeing the two episodes on a movie screen and seeing the second episode before it's telecast on BBC America. So this should hopefully be fun and will get me out of the house for about 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon

This show is so unsettling, I cannot watch it at night. I find it fascinating, but I’m not sure I will be able to watch a second season. I hate Emerson’s character for all his nastiness. His stuff with the incel guy was wretched and unfortunately too on the nose with those types

From Cultbox, Series 12 will show a different side to the 13th Doctor https://cultbox.co.uk/news/doctor-who-series-12-will-show-a-different-side-of-the-thirteenth-doctor
Chibnall's (and the BBC's) need for so much secrecy seems like overkill, though there are quite a few fans who don't like spoilers, so they're probably happy with the intense secrecy
From Cultbox, Chibnall talks about doing more and different historicals in Series 12 https://cultbox.co.uk/general/more-and-different-historical-episodes-in-doctor-who-series-12
