  1. The latest I’ve been reading from those who pay attention to production, including the online site Cultbox, suggests the show is done filming the 10 regular episodes for Series 12 and is now filming an 11th episode thought to be a special. It’s not known at this time if the special would be shown before or after the regular 10 episodes

  2. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-7464325/Doctor-star-Christopher-Eccleston-reveals-battle-anorexia-drove-suicide.html

9th Doctor Chris Eccleston is coming out with a new memoir and The Daily Mail printed some excerpts from a copy, where Chris talks about suffering from anorexia during his time on Who. He was also diagnosed with severe clinical depression after his divorce. and contemplated suicide during the filming of The A Word

His book, I Love the Bones of You, will be out September 19

  3. https://cultbox.co.uk/news/jodie-whittaker-and-doctor-who-receive-four-bafta-cymru-nominations

Doctor Who received 4 BAFTA Cymru nominations, for programs produced  and/or broadcast in Wales:

    Outstanding Actress: Jodie Whittaker

Excellence in Production Design: Arwel Wyn Jones

The show itself for Outstanding Television Drama

Outstanding Special and Visual Effects: Season 10’s The Doctor Falls’ production team - apparently eligible because there weren’t enough nominees in 2018

The awards will be given out Oct 13

  4. As a new viewer (from Jodie's first season), I watched Capaldi's era in the middle of Series 11, then a few other episodes from other eras out of order. Then I started at the beginning of NuWho with Series 1 and I recently finished Series 4, Tennant's last regular season. I still have to watch or rewatch Tennant's specials (along with Matt Smith's era), but so far, Tennant's 10 and Whittaker's 13 are my two favorite Doctors, though for me, Tennant had a habit of overacting (especially with his eyes). 10 is just so much fun, yet serious when he needs to be. His first series, Series 2, was a mixed bag for me but I really enjoyed the next two seasons/series. The 2 part Series 4 season finale (The Stolen Earth and Journey's End) were a mixed bag of wild and crazy, over the top dramatics, too much techno babble, and too, too much fun. The sadness of course was the Doctor taking away Donna's memories of him and their travels to save her. That still seems controversial even to this day. Somehow, she should have been given a choice, even if it meant dying.

  5. https://cultbox.co.uk/news/doctor-who-series-12-the-cybermen-are-back

The Cybermen are back! Pics in the link. They are reportedly in their last block of filming, so one of the last two episodes of the regular season, possibly the finale, or maybe a 2 part finale

There have been rumors and supposition that the holiday special will be filmed in  September (going into October most likely). It's unknown at the moment whether the special will be for New Year or Christmas

  6. The Hugo Awards were held this weekend and sadly the show didn’t win for its category Best Dramatic Presentation - Short Form. It was won by NBC’s The Good Place “Janet(s)” episode

In other words, a load of nonsense made up out of thin air by disgruntled idiots who can't stand new iterations of something they want to be gatekeepers of because they want everything to always be exactly the same as some imaginary golden era they mostly made up in their heads (because let's face it, no show is ever as perfect as the rosy-tinted glasses of nostalgia make it feel), and who know if they spout enough hateful guff it will be believed and spread by others just like them and cause damage in the process.

Given that every Doctor Who lead leaves after 3 (or so) seasons, the haters who keep spreading rumors that she's leaving will get it right at some point and then they will crow about it even if Jodie leaves right on time

Just hearing a lil' rumor that Chinballs is out and Jodie is leaving, time will tell if this is true or not.  Am I the only one who thinks Noddy Holder would make a good Doctor Who?

Seems to be a nonsense rumor started by NMD types with no sourcing. RadioTimes says insiders say it’s rubbish

So, I don't feel bad now about buying the 9/10/11 Doctors on dvd recently (to replace my digital dvr rips).  There's definitely still a use case for physical media - especially when streaming rights go to services that I have no interest in subscribing to.

I saw that and was surprised but it’s good for them I suppose. But at least it will still have a streaming home. For me, it means I have to finish streaming Tennant and Smith’s eras on Amazon Prime before Spring of next year. I’m still on the fence about subscribing to any streaming service beyond my original Big 3 of Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Also interesting that this deal includes a lot of other British shows on the BBC. But it doesn’t include Classic Who, which is still on the US version of Britbox I guess

Don't get your hopes up just yet, but another tabloid, The Daily Star, is reporting that the show's producers are in secrets talks to bring back the Doctor's nemesis The Master to go against Jodie Whittaker's Doctor, and as a male. The article doesn't say who they are in talks with (presumably the actor they want to play the Master?) or which season the Master would be back for
