  1. One correction. Sansa pulls out her dagger. They share a look. He pulls out his.
  2. Dany gave a whole bunch of the characters a lift on Drogon last season when they were escaping from the battle where Viserion was killed and wight-ified. A character who knows that can happen might not be surprised that Jon can hop on a dragon with Dany's permission and fly.
  3. There was no mention of it at all in the after episode commentary. You'd think that'd be something they pointed out.
  4. It's worth watching for the interactions between Mandy and Sig. I think we're finally seeing some genuine mentorship and I'm learning things along with her. The Northwestern has fairly consistently been one of the most professional of the boats across the seasons. I'm hoping Sean stays in that category, too, despite his playing ball with Jake.
  5. I watched the clip embedded in that article a couple of times. When was he supposed to have seen her? There's no flash of recognition. He's behind the rock looking pained, then stands and turns to the ice dragon. I hope he was helping Arya, but I saw it more as Jon having had enough and just standing up to end it one way or another.
  6. I wish they'd be honest and say that Casey is the captain of the Cornelia Marie. He is. Josh is a relief captain and is there to play for the cameras primarily. Poor Mandy. Sig did forget to tell her a few things. She was expecting to be berated by Sig but shockingly he handled it well. The new captain on the Summer Wind made the right decision to focus on crabbing and not waste his time f'ing with Keith's pots. That gives me hope for him.
  7. Missandei was upset about the whole situation, worried about Grey Worm and Dany, and multiple other layers of emotion. She didn't really understand what Sansa was saying to Tyrion and she blew up a little in defense of her Queen. She loves Dany as much as Jorah and would defend her even if she was a off base in both what she reacted to and what she said.
  8. I didn't see that at all. They pulled themselves together and went charging out.
  9. Do we know for sure that winter has come and left? There have been visions of snow in throne room at King's Landing. The Night King might take advantage of the coming of winter rather than causing it himself.
  10. Yes, the bodies in the crypt boxes clawed their way out and came after the people hiding nearby. When the episode started and it was dark, I paused the show and ran a color calibration on my TV I saw the various scenes just fine. I have a flat screen that's about 5 years old. If you watch the episode again, you might want to try that.
  11. Thank you! Yes. That's what I meant and couldn't remember if it had been in the show yet.
  12. Sansa is the Lady of Winterfell. She spent the time organizing the practicalities of moving people into the castle and preparing for war. That's where her skills are and she applied them. This reminds me of a scene this week from another show called Billions. The owner of an investment fund was talking to a firefighter who represented a union that had their retirement money with the investment fund. The owner promised to be down in the trenches protecting the union's money. The firefighter said that in a war there are different roles. Someone in the trenches is looking through the sight of his or her weapon and has a very limited view of the battle. There needs to be people up above the trenches who take more of a bird's eye view. I see Sansa in this bird's eye view role related to logistics and practicalities. After some thought, I didn't see her actions in the crypt as cowardice either. She was reacting to the shock of her ancestors reanimating and trying to kill her. Quickly, though, she got past that...as did Tyrion. They pulled out their daggers and got to business.
  13. My take is that their relationship changed substantially after her affair came to light. Before she'd manipulate him, including through the cutsie stuff. He was in love and played her games. At this point, there's something I know about why he was in jail but I can't recall if it was included in the show or only in the book. I'm not going to go into it, just in case. After he found out she was screwing around with his best friend while he was incarcerated, he views her with a more jaundiced eye and she's dropped the "little girl" cutesy crap.
  14. It seemed like more playing between them, cutesy talk, than more about an actual puppy.
  15. I understand Javert's motivation only slightly better than the Night King's.
  16. Is there a rule on the 19th Amendment website requiring that each outfit be photographed with one model standing and one squatting?
  17. Agreed. Especially since they're short of troops. I can't see Jon, Dany, and any surviving knights supporting that plan. I really think in the long run that the story arc leads to Jaime killing Cersei.
  18. Cersei DOES have a maester with homicidal tendencies and a big huge bolt shooting mega crossbow thing designed to take down dragons.
  19. I liked it, too, but I think I need to watch it again to pick up on a few things. All the side stories are very much in the spirit of the book, even though not all of them occur in the book. Gaiman does enjoy taking a side trip on a regular basis. Shadow is learning step by step that he's not who or what he thought he was. Mr Nancy and Anubis' exchange while playing chess was a whole lot of foreshadowing. Tech boy 2.0, my opinion is up for grabs yet. He needs to be arrogant as heck because that's the Silicon Valley sort of attitude. They think they can solve any problem with a quickly written app and no knowledge of the actual industry/market in which they're getting involved. The rebirth of Tech Boy and Media gave Mr World a stronger command of information flow and creation, even the ease of falsification. I think that's what this was supposed to demonstrate. I liked the link back to the War of the Worlds. Fear makes something real. The gods need people to think they're real. For a god like Bilquis, that's through adoration since she's a love god. For Wednesday, his primary route would be fear since he's a god of war. Mamma Ji is a war god, but she's got two faces. Nurturer and Destroyer, so she can get what she needs by taking care of people in diners across the country. Wednesday couldn't nuture something unless it was going to pay off for him in the end..which means it's not true nuturing.
  20. I think it was supposed to be because she kept getting distracted from her chant by the wights coming at her. Omg when Lady Mormont’s eyes opened and were blue. I’m glad that’s where it stopped. I was afraid we’d see her get chopped up.
  21. Trimmed your comment, but it was good overall. Agree wholeheartedly about Kit Harington. He mainly broods and not always well. His beard and hair carry him often. Emilia Clarke has gotten much better this season at showing subtlety and I’m not sure if she’s getting better or her material is. The “My dragons!!!” era was terrible. I think Melissandei misinterpreted what Sansa was saying. The problem for a potential marriage to Tyrion would have been his devotion to Dany, not Dany herself. Dany is his sole thought now, unlike how he would have or could have served a leader in the past.
  22. The only thing that got the Hound past his fear of fire was wanting to protect Arya. Oh, and the Lord of Light remains a bit overhyped, mostly support. The role of that god was essentially to provide protection for Arya in the form of Beric. Melisandre could light fires. That said, no other gods really helped. I’m glad that no recognizable Starks rose from their graves.
  23. ...and which of the characters who die will we then see rise up to fight for the other side. Can you imagine how traumatic it'd be to see zombie Brienne fight Jaime? Or vice versa?
  24. Everyone has to learn that lesson on their own because Jake does a good job of playing the victim. The show would be better without Jake and Josh. I'd love to see more new serious fishermen like Sean.
  25. I'm hoping Varys is too obvious choice to be the spy. He's also gone through an arc where he's shown his loyalty is with Westeros rather than any one ruler.
