When people can’t help themselves it is time to show some mercy.

I wonder what has to happen to Caroline to satisfy some people. She needs to get out of the public eye for her own health and safety.

It is obvious that Caroline is very troubled and needs to be left alone. I truly feel sorry for her and being forced through take a breath and to be off Twitter for a while is the best thing for her. I wish her well and hope she can find peace.

It would be easy enough to get a decent third stew. I bet there are tons of experienced stews who would love to be on TV. They are obviously picked for their entertainment value and as targets in the ongoing narrative. It’s the same thing when they pick waitresses in “Vanderpump Rules.” Or when Luann picks a new husband in the “The Real Housewives of New York.” They don’t care if they am do the job because they just want us to be entertained.

If the goal is to reboot series that most of America will ignore than I nominate “My Mother the Car” since it was way more funny. Plus even though Jerry Van Dyke has been dead for months he still looks better than Candice Bergen.

That’s my problem with this whole thing. There are designated targets that the Bravo narrative sets up for everyone to savage. So most people join in the attack and become part of the pack tearing at the feeble shivering deer in the headlights. Yes Caroline is a wreck. A sad mess with a multitude of problems that are obvious on first encounter. That’s why she was cast. That was why Rocky and Jen were cast with their problems and issues. Kate is such a nasty shrew you have to bring in a problem child to make her seem sympathetic. You set up some low hanging fruit for her to smash. She had a problem with just about every third stew. When Amy was third she went after her and Amy was very competent, kind and professional. Bravo realized that they couldn’t cast someone competent in the third slot because they needed a target for the sheeple to gnaw. They have to stack the deck. Caroline and Chandler are gone now. Who will be the new designated targets? Rhylee and Ross? Because they hook up? Ashton and the Unicorn? The new girl and the new deckhand? I bet they are the new little piggies in this remake of the “Lord of the Flies.” The mob has to have a new target. As far as beating a dead horse.... that is just not fair. I would never call Kate a dead horse. She is more of a coked out snake.

When the show is canceled will Candice Bergen have to go back to Madame Tussaud’s before she melts.

She is accusing Kate of being a coke head. Several others have said the same thing including Rocky and Bruno. If you follow the links you will find articles about these allegations.

So reading through this confabulation it appears that there are continuing allegations about Kate’s cocaine abuse. They had previously been made by Rocky and Bruno. I guess you can discount Rocky but Bruno was a deckhand who didn’t directly work for Kate. So he doesn’t really have an axe to grind. Rocky did say that the cameras definitely got the coke use on camera but Bravo covered it up. Sounds plausible. I have to ask Alex Jones about it.

It is interesting that Ross put an end to it and tried to help her. He must of thought what the mean girls were doing was wrong. He seems like the most mature and professional member of the crew. It is also true that Caroline could have a boatload of problems and still not be wrong about Kate. She is not the first third stew to be abused and othered by Kate. Even paranoids have enemies

They cover up illegality all the time. For instance I bet they cover up drug use in all of the franchises. When it comes to employment law you might be protected by the iron clad contract but having it on film might give the employee some leverage. Also they have a narrative and they don’t want their favorites to come off bad. Until they fall out of favor as happened with Carole in New York this year. I used to consult with a lot of small businesses and there were always two types of problems that were endemic and specific to mid level managers. With male supervisors it was always sexual harassment of one sort or another. With female supervisors it was the “Queen Bee” syndrome with the playing of favorites, scapegoating and “othering” of the chosen phariah. Sometimes it was the “Lord of the Flies”out there. That’s when upper mamagement (Captain Lee) has to step in and put a stop to it. Of course he has to be aware of what’s going on and it should not be a surprise. That is to say if he is doing his job. I think that is on the money. Kate clammed up and Bravo is covering up. I would bet that Kate did a bunch more of “actionable” stuff and Captain Lee is well aware of what she is capable of since she has probably done it before. The production crew no doubt egged her on but cut it out when Caroline made noises about it. The contracts they sign are very restrictive but they don’t need the bad publicity. So they took the easy way out and squashed it. As far as using the phrase “Kate is a bad person” please be advised that it is a rhetorical device based on Cato’s famous line that ended every speech: “ceterum censeo Carthaginem esse delendam” which means “Apart from that, I conclude that Carthage must be destroyed.” Of course it is a joke. Kidding on the square. Because even though it is funny to tweak the scantimonious mean girl it is none the less true. Kate is a bad person and Carthage must be destroyed.

This show just repeats itself over and over. Chandler is Leon....the arrogant department head who can’t handle his responsibilities....... clashes with Kate......gets fired by Captain Lee. Caroline is the third stew that Kate bats around like a wounded mouse. Sometimes they get fired sometimes they just get abused. They are the designated targets with the bad edits and no chance to redeem themselves. So yes they are targets and scapegoats. Not without fault for sure. Out of their depth. Sacrificial victims to the producers lack of imagination. Below Deck is one of my favorite shows. I love the exotic locales. I just want it to be better. Kate and Captain Lee are played out. It needs new blood. Make it better. Plus Kate is a bad person. That is the one thing Caroline got right. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

I don’t think she liked Jen. She constantly mocked her and put her down. She just didn’t have someone egging her on like her flying monkey is doing by providing an Amen chorus. So it was easier for her to get rid of the third stew on this charter. I don’t think the replacement stew will be having a pleasant experience. The third stew never will because they are there to be a punching bag. That is because Kate is a bad person.

Good point. Caroline was arrested because her dog bit someone. Kate was arrested because she bit someone.

I read where the it was canceled but that must of been fake news. You can’t trust anything you read in the mainstream media. I guess we will see. I can go back to not watching like most of America.

Caroline in particular seems to be weak and troubled. I don’t enjoy watching a sad sack getting batted around by a bitch face. Kate has a long history of torturing the third stew to entertain herself. Even Amy who is strong and confident and an excellent stew was discouraged and hurt by Kate’s highly organized butchery. Now that she has Josiah as her flying monkey she can go full wicked witch. You know you should never go full whicked witch. We need new blood.

The best I can determine is that the felony charges were dropped to a misdemeanor and were expunged after attending some court mandated rehab or anger management. Not quite having everything dropped. It is totally relevant as to her behavior and shold be part of the mix. Caroline is definitely fragile and has problems. She was is not cut out for this life. But Kate is just a cruel and nasty person as she is showing now as others have mentioned. I guess those court ordered classes didn’t stick.

True. But there was enough there to make an arrest. We don’t know who got paid off not to pursue it or what exactly happened. At least there was no in depth reporting thatI can find. Once again if it were Eddie or Ben or Chandler or any dude it would not be shrugged off so easily. Her arrest history is very revalent in the #Metoo era. Sometimes if it wasn’t for a double standard we would have no standards at all. i would love to see new chief stews on both franchises. I nominate Amy.

People Magazine June 15, 2016 Kate Chastain, star of Bravo reality show Below Deck, was arrested on Monday following a fight with her girlfriend in Melbourne Beach, Florida, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office and the Melbourne Beach Police Department. Chastain, who is the chief stewardess on the series’ charter yacht, was charged with battery by strangulation domestic violence after being arrested by Melbourne Beach officers. She allegedly bit her girlfriend Ricio Hernandez on the forearm, inner bicep and leg after returning to their shared home from a bar intoxicated, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by PEOPLE. During the altercation, Hernandez said that she was also allegedly held down and “strangled” by Chastain, making her unable to breathe. (Once again imagine if it had been Chandler who had the same history. Do you think it would be worth a conversation?)
