I wonder if Joe Giu is reaching out to felons he knows to get better connections when he's in prison. He may have watched a few too many mob movies. He expects to be slicing garlic with a razor blade while cooking up a big pot of red sauce.

Shannon came up with the sand excuse after she heard who was going and that they would all be travelling together in a bus RV. I don't blame her for opting out. That bus ride would have been miserable. But her excuse was funny. She just came back from Cabo where she was frolicking on the beach. She could have specified a problem with the dry climate. However, she went to Palm Springs. So she was avoiding being in a captive situation with Vicki and Kelly. Good choice.

That was my thought too. She probably walked out and a producer said, "Thanks for bringing the crazy but you need to stay if you want to get paid. You need to be here XX minutes."

Meghan getting her blood drawn was Vicki level histrionics. If I wasn't looking at the screen, I would have thought she was having a limb removed without anesthetic.

Umm, Rosie, Joe Giu was too damn drunk to roll out of bed and go play poker. Joe doesn't exactly have a healthy relationship with alcohol, but somehow you're surprised he didn't make it to poker night. There are many reasons to be mad at Tre but Joe's drinking like a fish is not one of them. He's a grown man who can really suck down the wine.

I too doubt she was absolutely alone. Never suggested she was. She would probably feel better with family there. Meghan doesn't exactly count as family. She's a coworker that barely tolerates the Vickster. It's all the oddly created drama amongst this forced together group of women who enhance their relationships for the camera.

When it happened I'm sure Vicki was terrified. I've been in a car that flipped, so I could understand their fear. Both Heather and Kelly stayed calm immediately after the accident. Heather did the smart thing of assessing herself before helping others (just like the flight attendants tell you!). Kelly immediately focused on Vicki. Of course Vicki was heaving in her lap so it was understandable. The tiny bit of the call we heard with Briana was odd. Kelly didn't make it very clear that Vicki was being airlifted and they weren't sure if she was okay. Then again, growing up with Vicki I'm sure Briana heard "Wolf!" more times than we can imagine. I am iffy on Meghan going to the hospital. If Jimmy hadn't said "no", she might have gone, if only for screen time. She missed out on the big event of the season.

This was probably the best episode of Fear the Walking Dead. However, having one solid episode still does not leave much for them to talk about. Having two actors that play new characters on also leaves a gap. There is not much to say about their characters yet. With longer term characters you can talk about their transition. Not so much when we've just met douchebro and the hotel manager. Also, it seems FTWD has bought their own hype so much, contending that everyone is desperate for spoilers, that they cannot say much about what is coming up. It often feels like they so very much limit what the actors know about their characters that they don't know what will be significant in their stories either.

I'm pretty sure Ethan Embry forgot who Daniel was when answering the question of whether he could still be alive. Coleman nicely reminded him Daniel was the one on the fire. Suddenly Ethan's answer changed to "Oh, he's dead." These characters are so dull that even people on Talking Dead can't remember who they are.

With all the other things covered, may I add, if you are allowed to take a shopping cart full of water, pack efficiently. An extra minute spent arranging what you have put in the cart can make room for much more water. Even with two carts of water, that is not going to last long so try to make the most of it. Like many of you, I thought when will they return the cart and did they have to pay a deposit in the bottles? Do any of the dead scrounge for recyclables or is it only the living that are hoping to bring in some cash that way? When picking people to go on a zombie stroll with you to get water, pick the ex-junkie with a dog bite on his leg that doesn't speak the local language. I see no red flags there. If she had taken him out to roll him down a hill it would have made more sense to me. New ZA tip, even if you think no one is/no dead are around, don't play the piano. I don't care how drunk they were. That's just stupidity taking over. Anyone else think of Shaun of the Dead when they were in the bar? Will they be escaping through a trap door into the basement? I would like to know how people in/from Mexico feel about the representation of Mexican culture and people on this show.

Jac did everything she could to try to get all of the attention on her. I'm surprised she didn't strip naked, bend over and shoot fireworks out of her ass to make sure everyone watched.

OK, Ragey Ryan was in Oklahoma. Brianna is in the OC by choice. It's not like he was deployed and made a surprise appearance at Vicki's party. He took a plane for a few hours to see them. I'm sure they talk everyday. And again it has been their choice to be separated. Just too damn silly, trying to pull our heartstrings, for me. I immediately thought about Kelly laughing about tossing salad in front of her daughter. Keep telling us what a great mother you are. Someone will believe you (or at least pretend to because they need a friend on the show - Vicki).

Watching the VMAs show. One question - what the hell is Melissa wearing? No, really. She is wearing a sequined bow applique in pink and blue with weird sparkled pleated sleeves. Why? Why does this exist? And why would she wear it when trashing what other people are wearing. Okay, that was more than one question.

There were reported issues of eHarmony refusing to find matches for atheists or always matching them with Christians whose religion was very important to them per their questionnaires. Creepy old eHarmony dude is very religious.

@mamadrama I have a connective tissue disorder too. I have had 50 surgical procedures, one of which was a combination of corrective and cosmetic, fixing my nose and jaw. I need another revision on the jaw but the insurance offered a cheaper fix only, so we have to wait until that fails before they'll consider the more costly procedure. It is horribly frustrating.

Someone needs to explain to Bethy that demanding a drink to help with trembling makes it look like you have the alcoholic tremors. Great visual for her product. Between that and handing Lu a big ol' glass of Skinny Girl when she was upset really speaks to drinking responsibly. The folks at Jim Beam must be so proud.

Note, Joe is a lawful legal resident, not an "illegal immigrant". While he could still be deported since resident status can be revoked for criminal activity, and he certainly has done some terrible things for which he coud be deported, let's not add illegal immigration to his charges.

Ah lentil season, when we each pick our favorite color of lentils and make a dish to share with our loved ones. The air is redolent with the scent of lentil soup, dal, lentil and rice salad. The children's eye shine with delight when Meemaw brings out a platter of lentil cakes. Such wonderful memories.
