  1. IntrovertGal, I think that bit with BJR asking Jamie how Claire forgave him happened later in DIA. If I remember correctly it takes place with Claire though, not Jamie, back in Scotland. I should pull my book out but I'm trying to stay away till seasons end.
  2. Absolutely! Just wondering if they will try to accomplish all of this in one episode or will fox's lair refer to Louis? Or I suppose half of it could be Louis, half could be heading to Scotland?
  3. So do we think there will be a huge time lapse in the next episode that includes the loss of Faith, Claire's recovery, the Fergus stuff, and her appeal to the king/reunited with Jamie? Seems a lot for one episode but I guess I have always assumed the following episode "The Fox's Lair" to refer to Scotland/Old Fox.
  4. Yes! I hated that Murtagh used the word, witch, too!
  5. I was only able to watch an abbreviated episode this morning, ff thru the Comte stuff and will watch that tonight. I have a question for those who have read the book recently though, when the executioner was talking about the crackdown of those who practice dark arts, in the book wasn't it that he was going off to England to execute a traitor? I thought that scene was more about the fear of what could happen to Jamie? The Fergus stuff was handled better than I had hoped for. I didn't expect to see anything but expected a scream. Which I suppose we could still get if they do show us the fight in room scene. Sigh. The duel was so good! My heart was in my throat too. Very well done and I loved Jack asking how she forgave him. I do think that was in the book somewhere if not at the duel. Was it him asking Claire it in Scotland when he runs into her? I am so ready for the BJR story line to be done already. I guess it really isn't because we still have the Mary/Alex/Jack stuff to go. Murtagh was wonderful...the vulnerability when he hinted did she know what happened to him. Love the servants. The only thing that I have seen so far that felt off is when Jamie was talking at first about Claire owing him lives too. He acted like he was just thinking and came up with it. I always saw Jamie as far more canny and two steps ahead of Claire here and had thought of it even as they were fighting. Maybe in my rush trying to watch some of the ep before I have to get going today I missed something there. Either way I can't wait to watch the whole ep tonight. And again am interested in mr.morgan (non reader) and his take on the episode. Although I am getting the impression that he is tapped out until Scotland. One last thought. I guess no Dougal in France? Had been looking forward to him.
  6. I know a lot of people don't like DIA but I have always loved it. And it definitely has been a bit sad not to have showJamie at the same point bookJamie was at. I've missed the humor and small moments. I am staying away from a re-read till the season is over though because I practically had the book in my hands during the first season and it didn't work well for me then. I know you like the Scot and Sassenach podcasts. If you are interested, Alastair did a great podcast for the book DIA. Kind of fun to check out as you are reading. And I totally agree about how hard these books are to adapt! That's why even when I don't like or agree with certain choices, I still give high praise to Ron Moore et al.
  7. So maybe if we don't get it in the show we will get it in deleted scenes?
  8. I think we will not see the assault but will hear Fergus scream/yell and Jamie rescue him and challenge. Or maybe Claire will hear about the duel and rush to it and hear later from Fergus (see the brand). Whatever happens I'm guessing it happens next week and we can put it behind us! Much like the wentworth scenes, I'm just going to be happy when that part is over.
  9. My guess based on the titles alone would be 2 episodes, maybe 2.5. There is a lot to do yet in Scotland so personally hoping no more than 2.
  10. Thanks! I knew it was something to do with Frank but couldn't think exactly what. That makes sense
  11. That line about owing a life is in the book and Jamie eventually tells her that they were pretty equal on that front. Although I think that conversation happens later. I vaguely remember Jamie had another reason for actually agreeing to and I'm blanking. Will need to check book later when I am home.
  12. I think it was more than that. She wanted Frank to exist for Frank's sake. Hard enough to not return to him/choose Jamie. I think she feels guilt for that, as much as she made the right choice for her. He deserves to exist for his own self as well.
  13. Overall really liked this episode. A couple of clunky (to me) moments. But so many amazing ones! Jamie's "Jesus. God, Claire." is one of the most chillingly heart wrenching moments. Perfectly delivered. Loved the opening with the servants cleaning up the aftermath of the party and of Jamie and Claire talking...you could just feel their connection. Loved the moment with Fergus too. I don't remember Claire interfering with Alex in the book. I thought it was Alex who knew he couldn't support Mary so backed off. I could be misremembering that though? I wish it had played like that instead though. I don't know. Whenever she is talking to either Mary or Alex I always have this Alice in wonderland moment because she always seems so huge compared to them! Lol Louis c'est magnifique! I hate BJR and cannot wait to see the last of him, but I also am bowled over by how fabulous the whole Versailles meeting went. Beautifully written and acted and of course the setting and costumes were stunning. I do understand Claire asking for a year for Frank, as horrible as it is and omg that final scene was incredible. On a side note I find it unsettling that Claire doesn't for a moment seem to feel for Mary and her destined marriage to BJR. Even a passing horrified thought about it. Did I miss that somewhere? For half a tick I thought we were spared the Fergus/BJR scene until I remembered that comes later. Overall just really happy with this episode. Mr.morgan (non reader) on the other hand is not enjoying France at all and is losing interest. I think back to Scotland will change that. He is definitely not on board with Claire though, especially with her request of Jamie. Will be curious to see other non readers responses.
  14. So here is some long distance speculation. I've recently joined Twitter and have been following a lot of the outlander gang. A week or so ago Lou Diamond Phillips started talking Outlander, just binge watched the first season and is very complimentary about it all. I know it's a long shot considering season 3 hasn't been announced, but if they do keep going I am thinking he might make a great addition when they get to NC and are dealing with the native Americans. Hmmmm....
  15. WatchrTina, maybe it will come to light that one of the servants isn't quite so loyal after all and told the duke? Or perhaps he simply has spies and he will say that when caught?
  16. Yes, I have recently (well in last few months) entered the Twitter-sphere and follow sam. Fun to realize we share a birthday! I knew we had a connection! Hehe WatchrTina thinking about Cait and those stairs...not just Cait climbing them over and over, but over and over in heavy costuming! She must have thighs of steel! I have to laugh about the BPC drinking game with, "mark me" because I said as much while watching tonight. He says it so often I admire Jamie's restraint in not punching him in the face.
  17. I just finished my second viewing, this time with mr.morgan, and did not notice the prominence of Frank's ring. Good catch...and an excuse to rewatch. i will say that while I like DIA more than most seem to, I do remember France seems to become a bit of a slog and that is pretty much what mr.morgan (non book reader) felt about this episode. I felt it zipped along nicely and was able to accomplish so much but I wonder if non book readers will feel the same? He is ready for Scotland and I had to promise him it is coming!
  18. I would like to see that sharp contrast with Alex/BJR too, as well as Jamie's empathy. I do totally buy Claire's "show must go on" attitude because I felt her switch into Nurse Beachamp in triage mode. She stemmed the bleeding (metaphorically as well as physically) of one injury (Mary) and headed off to what she hoped would amount to a (metaphorical) amputation at the dinner table (BPC implosion). Fully intending of course to get back to Mary as soon as it was over. Cant wait to watch again later.
  19. Well happy birthday to me, finally Jamie and Claire connect! I loved the bite scene which spurred Claire to let loose a bit on him finally, and loved that Jamie is letting her in. The fortress scene was delivered so differently than I expected...anger rather than despair. It reminded me so much of when Claire told Jamie she was from the future. The delivery was so different than I expected it to be it threw me off at first. Still both well done and just so happy to have then talking again! Poor Mary. Sigh. And yes Alex is doing a phenomenal job. Love Fergus so much. I don't think I could love him more than when he pulls up a chair at the table and feasts. Just another day, eh Fergus? Might as well not let all this delicious food go to waste. I wonder if they will just skip completely over his desire to be beaten over leaving Claire? Loved l'hopital scenes, and Raymond scenes. I will say that while I normally don't care for bodily function scenes and definitely prefer them to take place off camera, I thought Claire's poisoning wasn't terribly effective. She barely seemed affected by it at all. I wouldn't have minded a bit more discomfort than was shown. Some more groaning even or curled up in a ball/sweaty mess instead of calmly lying there maybe. I don't know. There is so much to this episode my head is spinning and I can't wait to watch it with mr.morgan tonight! Definitley can't wait till next week!
  20. I've pretty much come to accept that there is not going to be any closeness between Jamie and Claire until after the Faith/Bastille/Louis stuff goes down. They are just skipping over any of the sexy stuff that was in the book in the early part. And I'm sad about it, because I miss them together and would like to see it. But I do think they are doing a wonderful job with the season in general so am going to just know it will come eventually. I'm afraid it's making me far too eager for the weeks to fly by to get to it though!
  21. Has anybody else seen the t-shirts Graham Mctavish is selling (for charity)? He's all over Twitter about it and just said he will sign any bought in the next 24 hours. They crack me up, just had to finally order one.
  22. I absolutely thought the girl was lying about the pregnancy at first, too. I thought it would go along and no pregnancy would result after the quickie wedding (infertility issues).
  23. Interesting that you found it boring. I am a book reader and was riveted, but mr. morgan is not a book reader and found it boring as well. Good, but boring. And Claire annoyed him. Whereas I see her motivations and am so excited by the episode. Will be curious to know how the differing opinions play out after it is aired and others weigh in.
