  1. Words cannot express how much I love this comment. Kimrie's hair was awful and since I've seen her with substantially better hair than this, I know this is completely unnecessary. Also, from what we've seen so far, her son wouldn't let her out of the house with such a fake and tired looking weave.
  2. I really enjoyed it a ton, just like I did the first and second season. I was open to Seann's character though and the changes that were going to be made this season. Grieving Roger is understandable and while I expect him to remain reflective at times, I doubt this will continue past this episode just as he was at the end. For me, I'm fairly certain that Cole's personal life storyline is going to be an upgrade because I had definitely tired of Riggs'. The first season, I understood more what they were doing with his wife and all that. But the second season, the dad stuff was not my favorite to say the least and I felt like it dragged and infiltrated too much of his storyline, and while I didn't dislike Molly at all, I didn't like her anywhere near as much as I did Karen Palmer (Hilarie Burton). So, I like Seann's character a lot, if this was how the series had started, I'd be on board, so no reason for me not to now. And we get Maggie Lawson out of the deal, who I love. Trish remains my favorite. I really liked how Maureen was used in this episode. I wasn't expecting it, but I should have and thought it was very well done and I'm happy to see they'll continue to involve her in a similar manner. I'm definitely going to miss Avery as the captain, but look forward to a return to the increased screen time that Bailey and Scorsese were getting last season. I don't care about him getting fast tracked to detective. I'm not even sure it's the most out there idea. He was sent to them from the State Department, someone else could've gotten him the placement given the connections they are suggesting he has. Riggs had zero seniority in the LAPD as well but had a father in law who could pull some strings for him. I'm not seeing much difference, so no complaints from me on that. The only thing I didn't like was the hospital scene at the beginning. There is no way that an officer down call being taken to the hospital and being operated on would result in just Roger sitting there waiting on news from the doctor in the emergency room. While Riggs didn't get along with everyone, he was very much part of that department and precinct, so even if they didn't pack the waiting room like they should've making it standing room only, the seats should've been full awaiting the news with Roger. It was odd that they didn't do this, and really stood out to me as unnecessarily unrealistic .
  3. So a question about Love in Design. I've already watched it. I liked it enough because of Andrew and Danica even though a few things didn't work for me. But am I totally missing it or did we not get a full or even limited tour of the B&B after it was complete? Did I miss the reveal? I was probably mildly distracted, but I rewound and fast forwarded a few times trying to find the grand tour of the B&B that they spent the entire movie redesigning and it didn't seem to be included. I feel like Hallmark basically set this movie in the world of HGTV but apparently never watched HGTV or doesn't get the deal with that channel because we're not just here for the process, but the reveal. I saw an almost complete pergola, a few things that were in close to complete but still works in progress, I saw the fireplace in the background when they were at the party. I didn't see anything once it was deemed complete and there were plenty of rooms and details that felt like they should be getting a final reveal including the pergola done up for the party. I hope there was some problem with my DVR recording and that's why I didn't see it and it wasn't left out of the movie entirely.
  4. A significant amount I'd say. Yes, their familial ties are very important. Their father's mutant powers are suppressed (but clearly re-emerging), the grandfather was also a mutant with significant powers. But it was his father, so Lauren and Andy's great grandfather and the great grandfather's sister that were the powerful mutant terrorist duo that joined forces and wreaked havoc that Lauren and Andy are feared to become exactly like and the reason the doctor was doing extensive testing on them to figure out why their powers were so immense when joined. Von Strucker is the family name from Germany I believe, so that's the great grandfather's name and I would assume, the one used in the comics. The main characters on the show just use the last name Struckers.
  5. Dylan is one of my Hallmark faves personally, but if you don't like him, you don't like him. As for seeing him recently though, he's been in a decent number of things over the years and he's a Hallmark regular. He's co-starred in one of their TV series, appeared in a few regular movies, and stars in one of their mystery movie series. He's also a producer of the movies, and sometimes a writer. Truly, Madly, Sweetly is his project, similar to the Gourmet Mystery movies.
  6. I learned about this a bit ago and while I was initially thrilled since I've been complaining about Kimberly not getting a second starring role forever, and to get one with Paul is nirvana, I soon came down after. It's a HMM movie that's based on a series of books, so more of a religious undertone and one of those heartwarming movies instead of the lighthearted, more comedic fare that Hallmark has. HMM has several of these more religious sounding ones this season. This one seems to skirt what the book really goes for based on the movie's description, so there's definitely a chance this is an unfounded worry. But there is no doubt a God angle to this one. So, we'll see, but without seeing the movie and going off of what I read about the books, I can easily say I wish their combined talents were used in a different movie. That list is definitely no exhaustive just so you know. I definitely wouldn't read much into Hailey Dean missing for future movies. With it going into Garage Sale Mystery limited series month of movies mode this year, they aired all of theirs that were shot in one chunk. Similar to GSM, I'd expect more of the same for next year just nothing has been announced yet. Remember that Kellie Martin is one of their favorites, and Emma Fielding Mysteries is hers as well, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time that more Hailey Dean will be announced.
  7. I liked it enough to keep watching, but I didn't love it. I like Sarayu a ton from No Tomorrow and I have always liked Paul, the actor playing her husband. I liked the work stuff a lot, easily the part that worked the most for me. It was funny and completely unexpected with how great they were and how much screen time they are getting. I hope that balance keeps up. I like Sarayu and Paul as a couple quite a bit. Some of the problems - I could probably take a bit less of her parents, or maybe less of the mother and a better balance of using the father? I'm not sure on that front exactly, but I'd say the mom felt more forced and there was quite a bit of her. Even if she's meant to be an over the top character, I'd say they need to refine that role a bit. The ubiquitous Brian George was used less, yet I definitely found his parts more amusing. Now, the problems I have with the mom are how she's used and her lines and delivery, not that she's included here. The parents presence was great and the jokes surrounding that, especially from Sarayu, worked in large part. I didn't dislike who I assume is her best friend, but I found her inclusion rather random. Definitely felt like there was stuff cut from that pilot that would've helped the best friend get established more as a distinctive character. The kids seem like weak casting points by a mile. @LucindaWalsh Fabulous screen name!
  8. Well that was a nonsensical shitshow. Undecided if I'm even a little bit glad I somewhat stuck it out til the end. But please please let this be it. No season 3.
  9. I'm surprised by others posts. I really enjoyed Season for Love. Thought Autumn and Marc were great, chemistry and also just their story. This movie was missing so many of the things we regularly complain about Hallmark inserting unnecessarily into the story. Thought Marc and Autumn as former sweethearts were very cute, thought their interactions felt natural and believable. I liked the competition between the two, his approach with the daughter, his relationship with her mother, their shared loved of food, etc. I thought it all worked. I do think it was a bit of a sleepier movie, but not in a bad way. Not too far from Autumn's movie with Jesse Metcalfe, which isn't that flashy and a tad sleepier with its surroundings despite him being a country music star. For me, this is easily the best movie Hallmark has put out in months and months, probably the best since the Valentine movie with Danica.
  10. It's crystal clear to me they didn't map out Season 2 prior to the renewal in any detailed fashion. Last year we got a "save the planet from an impending asteroid" sci-fi leaning show with hints of political drama but the focus was on saving the planet. This year, outside of starting in the Ark, it's been mostly a political thriller while they try to remember each episode that that asteroid is still coming and maybe they should address that. There've been a few episodes where the asteroid coming was all but forgotten and the days til it hits have only recently become a thing again. Heck, beginning of this season they spent way more time on Claire's disappearance/death and her brother than they did on the asteroid. They seem to be working to bring it into the 50/50 balance between politics and asteroid ending it all, but there is no way they planned this out with a concise road map at the start of the series, what we've gotten is too disjointed for that to have happened. There have just been too many somewhat major plot points that haven't been mentioned from the first season. A couple of things, they make sense on why they were dropped, they were taking up time unnecessarily, but several other things, they should've come into play again this season and they haven't yet.
  11. We don't know who all makes up Resyst, but we know it's much more than Alycia and those they've told and shown us. Darius could very well have another source. Heck, the professor could be the one in contact, he hears and sees most of what Liam does but he's actually skeptical of Resyst and Alycia's truthfulness, and he remembers how he got there unlike Liam lately even if he's otherwise proven himself to be an awful person.
  12. Are you kidding me show??? I can't with Grace and yet another romantic entanglement. This chick is trying to help save the world, help save the country or desperately stay out of jail at just about every other second, but somehow seems to have time to mack on and make moon eyes with literally every man on this show above 40 not named Bennett as far as I can tell. Also, legitimately perplexed about Liam's absolute faith that Resyst had nothing to do with the president's assassination. He says it as if it's above the possibility of what the group is capable of and as if they aren't threatening to drop nukes all over the place including over a city of 10 million and as if that's not literally the only reason they have this team of scientists working for them, him included. And he says it as if he knows the absolute truth about their true plan and any member of Resyst, Alycia included since all he knows about her are the lies she tells him.
  13. I've lived in PA for a good portion of my life and I quickly dismissed the highways they were on as unrealistic for the route they'd be taking as well. There were two shots in particular when I was like, okay, well that's not accurate. I personally don't consider Harrisburg urban enough throughout for this episode setting to be a red flag. I was just there last month for a funeral and this would've fit in fine with the area I visited, and I was in Harrisburg, not outside. So, that part didn't bother me or ring untrue. Now The Office drove me crazy with their inaccurate PA geography usage. The Bold Type shoots mainly in Montreal.
  14. You just made my soap opera loving heart very happy! I had no idea they were together. Love them both since their respective ATWT and OLTL days.
  15. I know you're saying this more off the cuff, but it's been my theory for a while that Darius's uncle (Nicholas Tanz aka John Noble) is behind Resyst. I've said for some time now that Resyst does not make any sense from a funding standpoint in particular. Harris' son did not and seemingly could not have amassed the fortune that funds Resyst. It seems to have the resources that rival a nation or a company like a Google that can surpass many countries' GDP. Nicholas makes some piece of sense on that end where he could fund the operation to a somewhat reasonable sense. Nicholas, like Tess as I mentioned before, seem to be forgotten Season 1 plot points. Maybe they will remain forgotten, but as I try to make some sense out of where this is going, I've been thinking back to when this show wasn't all over the place. I think it made more sense last season when it was far more focused than it is now and I'd hope they had a decent amount of this Resyst storyline mapped out from the start. Drawing from Season 1 makes the most sense on that front, and Nicholas' hate for Darius seems to be on par with Alycia, so I don't think the guess it that out there.
  16. Oh, you know that's likely what it's going to be. I mean, I think it'll be more of "I loved you" or "we were engaged/married" or "you were in love with another woman enough to name your program after her and didn't tell me" BS, but same difference. Prepare yourself now and just be pleasantly surprised if they come up with something way less predictable than that. I've been waiting for any of the writers to remember Season 1 storylines of real Tess and his Uncle, so maybe one of the writers finally recalled at least one of the two.
  17. I'm at the point in watching this show where I'm fast forwarding through a good deal. Just interested in what eventually happens since I watched this far. So, maybe I missed a great explanation for the constant wrong reaction to Claire's death. Are Grace and Harris telling the story poorly? I feel like they must be. Claire was moments away from shooting/assassinating Harris. Grace acted in defense of Harris' life. I am forever confused about why Grace is constantly acting like she shot Claire mid convo while she was trying to determine if she was guilty of anything shady and Darius would react in a similar manner. Since almost the second of Claire's death, this show has acted as if she was some less than guilty character who was not stopped in the middle of committing murder.
  18. In case anyone is interested, here is an interview with Emily about the series finale and about the possibility of a movie to wrap the show up. They wrote Season 5 with the assumption that there would be a Season 6. https://tvline.com/2018/07/25/young-hungry-recap-series-finale-ending-explained-interview/
  19. That's definitely all Evita's look was. Her aunt had just told her that the pair could save the city and to find out from Ty if he had connected with the other person in her vision, Evita agreed but to appease her aunt not because she thought she was going to find out something for real, so she was shocked when she realized Ty had met his partner and that she definitely has powers. And suggestions that take Evita's reaction further than that are presumptuous and borderline offensive given the story hasn't gone in that direction.
  20. 65%? I'm dying to know what version of the show you're watching and how I can get access to it. I might be able to tolerate this show way more if I didn't think Tandy was objectionable and unlikable 85% of the time at a minimum. She's a major reason why I don't know at all if I'm checking out next season.
  21. In case you missed it, the East Peck Gazette "Pecking Away since 1887" that they flashed on screen with the Flatch: "We Have No Chance in Hell" headline, had two other stories that were worth catching that were so very East Peck. Multiple Injuries During Charity Cannonball Toss - Up to 36 participants and bystanders were injured during a fundraiser for the East Peck Historical Society, a significant improvement from last year's total of 28 injured participants. East Peck Mulls Border Wall - Town council votes on the feasibility of border wall project to protect Peckers from foreign know-it-alls.
  22. For me, the Jacqueline storylines have shown that the board can be pushed into the modern ages with the right influence or angle. I don't find them boring. To me, they are interesting and realistic, because in my experience, unfortunately, getting that one win (like with Jacqueline getting her way with that body issue), doesn't mean you won't have to go to bat again on a similar issue again in the next month or the next year. It is rare in my experience that you change thinking with that one win. The board did also approve the new HR policy for dating that's more reflective of modern times, which I think was company wide but I'm not positive. And Kat presented to them at least once prior to this and it went well despite it not being something they were too familiar with. I'm sure there have been things that swung the other way, but they don't stand out to me as being the norm when they are dealing with Scarlet. They seem to me to be more open to letting Scarlet be more reflective of the magazine they are creating. There was a woman sitting on the board in that scene. The only thing that stood out as odd to me, was that the new board member we've been subjected to recently was missing.
  23. Just catching up on the last 3 episodes now, sorry for the late post on this episode, but reading through several of the comments I thought I'd post. FWIW to those who think that 30-second speech to the board was completely unrealistic. I didn't find that part, or any of the discussion on race and privilege, unrealistic. I'm a black woman and when I was in college at my overwhelmingly white private university, I was in a room with several deans and provosts of the university since I was involved with student government. There were several things discussed, but there were probably four students present including myself and we spoke about student concerns on a few matters. One of the things I spoke about were dorm assignments, especially freshman dorm assignments since my 350-person dorm had 4 underrepresented minorities living in it. That's it. The numbers barely climbed when taking into account all people of color. The school was definitely predominantly white, but it wasn't enough for those numbers to make any sense. I didn't speak long about this, less than 3-minutes I'd say, and the part about the dorm numbers were under 30 seconds, the rest of that time was what kind of environment that created for students of color. They started the process of changing the policy based on that conversation, it was too late to implement it for the incoming class but it was changed starting the following year, but their action on the issue was immediate. They were so busy paying attention to diversity in admissions, they hadn't thought to make sure there weren't such imbalances when applying those numbers to dorm assignments, even though the dorm I lived in was the #1 requested dorm on campus. It literally just never occurred to them to check on the implementation of the dorm room requests until it was brought to their attention. So, Kat's storyline doesn't seem as outlandish to me as it does to others, because I think they've shown this board as being fairly receptive to new ideas, rather than stodgy stick-in-the-muds. I think it just takes a receptive audience who is willing to listen, and while that can be hard to find in many, many workplaces, at certain ones, like a university or in the show's case, the publisher of a seemingly liberal women's magazine who likes to push the envelope, it doesn't seem like quite as big of stretch that it would have a board who is willing to entertain a change to a policy that they likely hadn't considered being so limiting before.
  24. Right. And while that makes sense in theory, this show is feeling the need to reference the real US Constitution, the real 25th Amendment, and write part of the storyline to justify it in a realistic court setting and to use the Rule of Law as part of their storyline. So, while I'm perfectly aware that this show is far from the most realistic, the writers are acting like this particular aspect of the show is a realistic scenario that is set in our universe, including trying to justify what they are writing through that Tweet. So very many aspects of the show are very clearly not realistic, although CBS is classifying this as a suspense drama, not a fantasy or sci-fi show, but it's easy to write things off as artistic license, but the show is also going out of it's way to keep certain parts in reality and this is one of them. They could have not used the United States in it's current form as their country. They could have used an alternate Constitution to shape things as they saw fit for the show. They did none of this or a good many others to distance themselves from the current makeup of the US. So, yes, this is ridiculous to me and the writers trying to make it seem legitimate is going to remain laughable. You can choose to ignore it and come up with your what ifs if you choose. I'm not trying to get people to do otherwise. Whatever you do to make this enjoyable for you to watch, I get it. But my problem is that Tweet, that's a joke. Yes, even in our current state of affairs, it's a complete joke. It's not even just a regular law, but a Constitutional Amendment. So I'm just trying to inject a little actual reality here since the writers of the show saw fit to tweet that nonsense out in explanation of the storyline. It's complete BS on their part to claim this is legit. Since that was posted here, I'm reacting to the tweet and nothing else. I wouldn't have seen that if not posted here, but it's bad form on their part. Had they not claimed it in that manner, that's something I'd let go honestly as you'll notice I didn't mention a thing about it in my original post as it was just one more thing I rolled my eyes at the ridiculousness of it all and dismissed. But they are kidding themselves with their "It's legit" tweet.
  25. Ha! I find that to be hilarious. Whoever they talked to I have no doubt they are lawyers, but no one remotely specializing, teaching, or well versed in constitutional law, which makes a huge difference. They went with random lawyer the show could put them in touch with who took the required Constitutional Law I course that everyone takes in law school which absolutely does not spend a ton of time on the 25th amendment. I've taken several more than just the required course and this is a completely ridiculous storyline to me and I have never specialized in this area even remotely. They are acting as if there is no history of the 25th being invoked or potentially invoked due to the president being incapacitated and unable to perform their duties. For better context for those not clear on what they are doing - the writing of this is as if during Reagan's assassination attempt in the 80s when he was temporarily incapacitated, George H. W. Bush had been sworn in under the 25th and then saw fit to tell Reagan when he survived the attempt, "NO, I'm the President!" and then taken to the airwaves to declare himself the actual president and that pesky no-good Reagan doesn't have a proper claim anymore to the position he was elected to because he was in the hospital undergoing surgery for a few hours and how dare he act like he can be President after that. Nothing about this is remotely believable and not at all how it wold go. The 25th is not an election and does not provide absolute right to the office, there are rules within the Amendment and procedures that are followed for the actual elected President to resume their duties and the VP to be discharged back to their position, most of which involves Congress. They are missing a good deal in procedural steps that would prevent all of this from happening and acting as if the VP has some superior right to the office than the person who was elected just because he was sworn in in the midst of an emergency. The writers acting as if the act of him being sworn in is somehow the be all and end all is truly laughable.
