  1. I thought Hallmark was going to stick by her since she specifically got her bail request to include a condition that she was allowed to travel to British Columbia for shooting. So I thought Hallmark had already told her they were sticking with her til a verdict came down. Guess not. In terms of continuing the series. The way HMM has their series set up, usually one of the stars of the show, seemingly why they never go with unknowns, is a major producer of the movie or series. Not the in name only kind of producer, but one with considerable influence on the production and Lori runs the show on hers. So, I'm thinking this is it for Garage Sale Mystery unless and until things blow over and she's welcomed back by them because any continuation of the series likely still means working with her. This is correct. The first of the four movies had completed filming. She was in British Columbia shooting the second movie when she was indicted. Given the production days I saw listed for the current movie's shooting schedule, I'd say it's unlikely it was close to being finished as it had over a week left of filming on a 3-week shooting schedule when the story broke.

  3. When they were introducing themselves at the embalming conference at the beginning, Cheyenne said that Amy suggested that she come to the program and Cheyenne thought why not as long as Amy would give her a ride. I have no idea other than what I mentioned above what would possess Amy to invite her to this training when she's placing such a high value on the idea of advancing at Cloud 9 now. And nothing in this episode dispelled the idea that she isn't taking this seriously. She was focused enough on the training that she didn't care about not sitting near Cheyenne and wanting to focus on the training, and that was well before Cheyenne showed her ass in that group project. So the invite doesn't really make sense. I get not wanting Amy at the training on her own, but they could've used Jonah, had Jeff turn up somehow, or tuned someone at the training into her buddy and become a recurring character we can see during this journey Amy is on. This was bad. And lazy writing.
  4. The school secretary is hilarious and I saw the amount of screen time in this first episode as a sign that she'll be used way more this season. I definitely find a party to celebrate bangs extremely ridiculous, but it absolutely fit in with Jack's new philosophical study so very perfect in that way just like the mayonnaise. Because the amount of joy those two teachers were getting out of the haircut, remembering it, and celebrating it was just WOW. I mean they bought a cake to mark the occasion.
  5. I thought Amy got exactly the experience at Cloud 9 Academy she deserved. If she's serious about this, why is she taking Cheyenne to this with her? She's got to stop trying to constantly save Cheyenne at every turn especially when the girl is not asking or looking to be saved. This was not the time to ever invite someone as unfocused and ridiculous as Cheyenne if her true focus was on advancing within the company. There wasn't a moment out of juvenile acting Cheyenne that was unpredictable. There is a reason she's so friendly with Mateo, she has both the juvenile and the mean girl inside of her. Amy thinking that Cheyenne is some version of her has always been ridiculous and this shows yet again that she is misguided in thinking this way. This was not a strong episode, which really sucks as the first episode back in a very long time. Way better for the second or third to be weak, I hope it doesn't lose to many viewers because of it. But at least we got Dina and Garrett scenes, a strong episode from Sayid who sure does make the most of his short appearances, and the ending lines between an actively breastfeeding Dina and Garrett of "You mean this is..." "A crime...YEAH!"
  6. I loved how awesome Mr. Castellotti was about the inappropriate email. I was not expecting him to be so cool about it. I didn't think Andrea needed to turn into herself at the end of the convo with her "put ya dick away" she was actually in the school at the time and it was time to let it be by that point, it's like she didn't learn her lesson that this was a step too far. But the way he dealt with it was cool enough that they'll move past it instead of it being super awkward for the rest of the year while Amelia is in his class. And I took it as him coming to that decision after some thought, like this was the best way to turn it into a non-issue, because he never replied to her apology email and spoke to her after a weekend had passed. I've definitely felt Andrea's escalation of the joke was a lot, but none more so than when she shared it with the other parents so that they knew and it's become some parent joke at the school. And now even her mom knows? Like, it's a lot on so many levels, so it becomes too much for me. But I hope that this de-escalates everything about the teacher and we don't have to hear the jokes about him or his mustache anymore.
  7. @Skyfall I'm not sure why you're hung up on this semester vs. quarter thing. If you want to assume semester, that's fine. Your assumption is based on every general university. While my assumption is a very reasonable one given the University of California school system uses it and this school seems to be similar to a UC campus. If you're not okay with that, then think what you want, but don't post reference links like I need to be educated about universities. That's unnecessarily condescending.
  8. Well, my school uses it, plenty still do, including the UC schools that this seems to be based on. So yes, I find it a perfectly good assumption.
  9. No it's not, that's not how it works in a quarter system. It's a full time schedule.
  10. Three classes is plenty and definitely not a part-time student. I dropped a class every once in a while and was never behind and had more than enough credits to graduate on time. Assume the quarter system, not the semesters.
  11. So not a fan of this new forum format for this exact reason, nowhere to post other things like related news. Chloe and Halle just performed America the Beautiful at the Super Bowl. They did great. I'm sure it'll be up on YouTube soon if you want to see it but weren't watching.
  12. Maybe that's all it is. I've found the switch off rather offputting given the type of jokes in the last few episodes. It was still funny, but I've paused multiple times at the familiarity. Rob is really brand new on the show unlike Kyle and she's making fisting jokes and sharing the party bj scene with him and to me it's like, with THIS guy? Definitely could've used more backstory on their friendship/relationship before jumping into all of that.
  13. I'm super confused about Andrea's work at the moment. Did I just miss an explanation for why Jason Mantzoukas is MIA since the first episode this season and he's been suddenly replaced as her writing partner by Scott Aukerman with seemingly no explanation whatsoever as if it's almost the same guy? Because they are writing this like Scott has been introduced to us before now, as if that's who she's been writing with all along. But it isn't and he wasn't in the first season at all.
  14. I can't with Luca. And most of the stuff he did has been covered, but I'm still confused about why, other than him being an asshole, he tossed, not just his own dirty latte into the trash that Zoe brought him, but both drinks in the holder got tossed. Did I miss that both were for him? Because if not, I don't give a shit if no drinks are allowed in there, since when can't someone take 10 strides out into a hallway to enjoy a drink? So I was over him in this episode from jump and it just went downhill from there.
  15. I really enjoyed this episode. Do they need another person in this house? No, but Zoe isn't on much anymore so I do see that they may have wanted to split the older child storylines away from being just Junior. Had no idea that was Quvenzhane Wallis, she has really grown up and yet I'm guessing still just a teenager since she was so young when she first broke out. This episode had a ton of lines that were just killing me. There was almost nothing out of Diane's mouth during the entire first scene that wasn't golden. Diane checking out Kyra's Instagram: "Be your own boyfriend. Something happened." Dre: "Forget love, she needs stuff. Have you seen her shoe game?" Bo with the, I'm sure she's upset about her mother being in jail not about her shoes. "Well at least her mother has a release date, no telling how long she's not going to be fresh." June Bug: "You okay, cuz? Looking like you living that stressed out life. You need to be living that Herbalife."
  16. I watched the first episode if that's what you mean, the one with the bear. I enjoyed it. I didn't miss Feldman as much as I worried I would this season, I think they way they wrote Deb helped to compensate for her. New episodes air on Tuesday night. Also FYI, for the last few years there's been a repeat that airs sometime late on Sunday or Monday night that doesn't appear to be on the schedule anymore, so you need to catch it one of the two airings on Tuesday night live or with your DVR if you don't have the ability to watch it OnDemand or through their app.
  17. I'm so over whatever they are doing with Jazz. I'm just tired of her general negativity. And honestly, her outward anger towards Zoe made me mad at her friends too. Jazz has been carrying on like this for 2 weeks over a nothing event that she's clearly more than forgiven her boyfriend for and she's still coming at Zoe like this and they say nothing? Last week's episodes was entirely too much to me, but 2 weeks of this? They speak up and Jazz gets over it or she's a lonely girl with a sister and a boyfriend but no friends to hang out with until she gets over herself. They've made such a big deal about this great friendship between the three girls in particular, but it's like it disappeared the last two episodes in favor of whatever they wanted to do with this storyline. Aaron has become true window dressing this season. Use of Vivek is even worse. I don't know if more of just the girls and less of the full group is the reason I'm not feeling this season as much as last, but something is definitely a bit off for me. I liked the dress Zoe was working on at the beginning considerably more than the one she turned in.
  18. Luca remains my least fave of Zoey's three guys. I liked him okay last season as the friend before with a mild flirtation who would call out Aaron now and then, but I'm definitely not into using him too much. But to the show's credit, he's about as college boyfriend as it gets to me. Like a mistake you make then, but one you need to really move the heck away from as a real adult who doesn't have time for this with that "whatever" and IDGAF vibe he's got going on too damn much. I know social media was used a lot last season, but it felt overwhelming in that second episode. I think maybe it felt like so much because the entire show was Zoey, not really a ton of the others featured strongly given Aaron's storyline overlapped with hers. Also, in many ways, Luca's attitude didn't ring completely true for me. He's got more social media followers than any of his friends. His general vibe means he's not going to be as focused on it as Zoey is, but he uses it too much for me to think he's as indifferent to it all as it seemed as part of this relationship growing pains storyline. I agree that the show seems to be feeling out Ana and Aaron, but I continue to think it'll be avoided. Maybe they'll go there, but I'm not sure end goal isn't Zoey and Aaron and not sure they'll have any of her friends possibly interfering. I was thinking Ana might hook up with Vivek, the uptight chick with the drug dealer seems like her nightmare and therefore has the possibility of being quite entertaining. Plus, as we saw last season, Aaron has a type lol. I'm really hoping the opening credits were a one time thing for the premiere and meant to pay homage and nothing more. I enjoy this show, I do. But this is no Different World.
  19. That would be kickass to be honest. TJ Maxx has access to amazing stuff. I love a good regular TJ, but my favorite TJ location has the runway section with clothes and accessories from the high end designers. I've looked longingly at many a $1000+ item before I walk away and try to find the best imitation in the section I can afford. :)
  20. Remember the Mary Kay makeup room? Avon? I'm expecting an upgrade on the sponsorship front when the show returns to Bravo. If they are trying to use more accessible brands, it seems like there are so many better ones that would work with what they tell us the PR brand is, like going with elf or NYX over a Mary Kay.
  21. May not be a surprise, or it might have been very sudden, I didn't hear the circumstances if they were mentioned, both are equally possible otherwise. But there's no age when it's easy to lose a loved one, it all depends on how close you were to them or your history with them. But the death of a loved one at any age can be devastating. That being said, I'd have been more than okay with sending Anthony Ryan home last night. I thought that would happen and it wouldn't have been mean to do so, not just because this is a competition, but because if he's not all present right now, then letting him go and be with his family during this time is a perfectly acceptable outcome for his situation.
  22. I wasn't a fan of how this was judged nor how it was shown to the audience. There was no clear mention of the origin of each outfit to the judges that I saw and it was not put on screen during the runways. For some, the dresses looked pretty nice, but did they have any real connection to the origin? I certainly didn't think so for a few and I was surprised that didn't seem to be critiqued at all. It's like it was used just to get the ridiculous 23 & Me product placement in there without it being too awkward, but they didn't care about it otherwise. And clearly there are almost no Anya fans here, but I thought she was at a distinct disadvantage in this challenge, at least compared to her US PR competition. Execution aside, Anya used her country as inspiration regularly throughout her entire season, so I didn't see a way for her dress not to look like what we've seen from her before. I don't think she's long for this competition anyway, but it felt to me like Alyssa's going to be on the warpath to nix her as soon as possible.
  23. Saw Cate Freedman on Splitting Up Together a few weeks ago and made me wonder again what the deal was with Feldman. Still haven't heard a why and if she's out of the Katydids all together, their social media pages and website still describe them as a 6 member comedy ensemble but they might just not be good at updating that stuff. It's super strange. Commercials for the new season have begun. Final season begins on January 15th.
  24. Following in the footsteps of Angry Angel last year, these are two very, very solid offerings from the channel that started it all. Both are enjoyable, very watchable, and feel like actual real movies. I'd say I don't like these quite as much as I did Angry Angel, but they remain a cut above the rest in terms of a complete movie with superior production values. The Truth About Christmas - This was a lot of fun. This is Liar Liar in Christmas form, but way worse because her boyfriend is about to announce his run for mayor and she's his campaign manager. Great setup and her inability to lie is really very entertaining. I'm not too familiar with Kali Hawk but she's really great here. Since this one aired a while ago, I'll go ahead and be vague but just say, I loved the three leads and I was totally feeling the brother. I realized during the bar scene they were definitely not going there and I ended up being fine with that after really, really wanting it to happen after he was first introduced. But they conveyed his love for his brother well so I knew it wasn't happening. There are some, for me, cringeworthy things that happen because of her inability to lie, one scene in particular was just diarrhea of the mouth and a lot, but all in all, this is a well written, well acted movie. And a major bonus comes with the lead character's career. Something that basically never happens both on the personal and professional sides at the end. Loved that. So, this is a highly recommend. No Sleep Til Christmas - This is the one with Dave Annable and Odette Yustman Annable. Been a very long time since I've seen them acting together, they still have the same chemistry and play well off one another. This has a very strong cast. Outside of Dave and Odette, there is Alphonso McAuley, who you may not know but may be recognizable. He's hilarious and I assume may have been suggested by Odette, her former castmate on Fox's Breaking In. Her fiance is played Charles Michael Davis, who has been in quite a bit and was a lead on The Originals and the most recent season of Younger. His mother is played by Sheryl Lee Ralph, looking absolutely fantastic. Like seriously, killing it so hard on here looks wise that Hallmark should be ashamed of making her seem like a dowdy old woman in their movie last year. Working it big time. So, the movie is well cast and again, a very complete feeling movie with superior production. It's kind of an odd premise but they make it work. Biggest flaw of the movie to me is definitely that overall, Odette's character isn't very likable with her elitest attitude. Luckily that feeling of disliking her is not a constant thing, but when something comes out of her mouth that is along these lines, I just kind of went, why? So unnecessary and not a way to endear her to the audience and have them rooting for her. That is truly the biggest flaw here outside of whatever was going on with Dave's face in the first half hour of the movie (back away from the plastic surgery and injections man - you do not need them). Luckily, the latter 3/4 of the movie was shot later or earlier and his face is mostly settled at that point and no longer distracting. Also, their meet cute is rather flawed for me because it basically had her endangering the public if I understood it correctly as if her needing to get sleep was a worthy reason to do what she was doing. But this is part of the setup being odd and probably flawed. Despite this, still very enjoyable and I highly recommend this one as well. For anyone kinda sick of holiday movies, this one is non-Christmasy so a good one to try. She's an event planner with holiday parties to plan, but this is not one where either lead loves Christmas above all else, can't shut up about it or is decorating their lives to the hilt. And neither is overly involved with anything relating to Christmas. So a really good break from the the usual Hallmark and Lifetime fare this time of year if you need it. ABC Family/Freeform is continuing it's commitment to all things Disney and so these movies are not airing much. No Sleep Til Christmas will repeat next Friday, December 21st at 11:55 pm ET. That's the first repeat airing for this movie and I think it might be it's only, so definitely set a recording if you're interested. The Truth About Christmas aired a couple of times after the premiere, but is not on the planned schedule for the rest of the month, hopefully they'll change that. But if not, both movies are available to stream on their site and through their app.
  25. Christmas Around the Corner on Lifetime. It will repeat tonight on Lifetime along with future airings. I'm telling you this because basically, I loved this one. Not perfect, but close enough for Hallmark/Lifetime/ABC Family holiday movie purposes for me. It felt a bit different, it felt pretty complete too. It stars Alexandra Breckenridge who has been in many things over the years so you might recognize her. And the lead guy's aunt, who is a pretty major character here, is played by Jane Alexander. Yes, that Jane Alexander. So, acting is definitely up to par here. The script works well despite a rather strange set up (that's a vacation?). The casting is really, really well done. The leads have great on-screen chemistry that pulls you in nicely. The "twist" isn't overblown where it distracts from things. The teen in this feels really authentic, the kind of casting that should happen more often but probably won't since she's awkward, but that's what really makes her work too, she definitely pulled off her character well. The owner of the baker next door is a great barometer of how the town is going through a transformation with the lead woman now in town. I was calling her the acerbic baker based on initial interactions and that soon became a funny way to refer to her. And there's a gay pastor! Seriously. He's married with a new daughter and we meet his black husband and adorable daughter as well. From start to finish, this one worked for me big time. It's my favorite so far this season. I've enjoyed several so far, but this is the one that I think I will most be looking forward to seeing again year after year.
