I think she is lonely and misses being part of the family. That being said, it is freeing when you don't have your kids tying you to the home. You can take off whenever you want to. Go do things without having to see if everyone else wants to go to.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
Pickleinthemiddle replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
As long as you are eating more veggies, that's all that matters. I would imagine the bankruptcies were from using credits cards because there just wasn't enough money to support 4 adults and 12 kids at the time. So they bought on credit knowing they wouldn't be able to pay it all back. -

Yes Janelle has a dog and i think her mother also has one. I remember seeing a photo of two dogs in her living room. -
Yes I was talking about the rentals they lived in for several years. Her home was in a nicer neighborhood and just looked a little fancier than the other homes.

Well, I'm from Texas and we speak a whole other language here. Christine might use ink- for ing. Here we just drop the g. Fishing is Fishin, Fixing is Fixin, Seeing is Seein. Yes we say y'all. Ain't. You just can't be considered a Texan unless you use the word ain't. All sodas are cokes but when ordering a drink, you don't say pop or soda, you say I want a coke, and more often than not, they will ask what kind. Then you respond with the flavor you want. Unless you want Dr. Pepper, then just say Dr. Pepper from the start, after all Dr. Pepper was born in Texas. Fixin to. Okay mom I'm fixin to go clean my room. Bless your heart , is often said when we would really like to say something else to you, but our manners prevent us from doing so. Those are just a few.

Ha Ha, it's a little before my time, but my grandmother had one. I used to tell her they stole her family name for the brush company.

I could see her wanting her mom there and possibly Christine, because she basically raised all of them.

I'm thinking over the years that Meri took more than her fair share of the family money and only begrudgingly helped out occasionally with family bills. When they moved to Vegas, she moved into a rental in a nicer neighborhood, that cost as much as the other wives who had more kids. As it was Kody and Janelle had to cash in their retirement accounts and barely had enough to get into the rentals. Meri should have opted for a cheaper smaller house.

Meri Brown and her Wet Bar of Tears

I agree. I don't think it was her idea at all. She was serious upset when they went to sign those papers. He should have been married to Christine all this time, to maximize income tax refunds. -

She looks just like a young Christine. That is who I thought it was at first glance. It could just be me, but that has been the worst fashion statement ever. I just don't think they are flattering to any woman. -
I said that in the first season, Meri was the least suited to be a sister wife.

My Five Wives moved into one house last year, I guess Brady earned enough money from that big contract they got, to build one big house for everyone to live in. So It can be done. Just wondering if they still have their own areas in the big home? Or is it more like the Darger's house, where they all share the common areas of the house. Some how I just don't see the Browns living like that ever again.

True. My mother and father wouldn't let me color mine as teen. My mothers paternal family had a tendency to go gray early. I started getting gray hairs in my early twenties. But it wasn't real noticeable until i was in my early 40's. I am now 54 and solid white like my mother. But I color it and have for about 10-12 years now. And I let a professional do it so it looks nicer.

I think Meri lives in her own little world and steps on everyone else to get her own way. I think Kody found it easier most of those years to give into her. I think that is part of what drove Janelle away.

Season 9 Spoilers, Speculation & Social Media
Pickleinthemiddle replied to Aethera's topic in Sister Wives
When Kody and Mariah were talking at the old house, he did admit that part of it was his fault. Mariah didn't want to hear any of that. She wanted to put all the blame on Meri. True, I think it's the other way around, she manipulates them or just wears them down so she can have her way. -
Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Pickleinthemiddle replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Me too. My mom would have a sprinkle bottle and dampen everything and then stick it in the freezer. She would let me do my dads hankies and the dishtowels. Once I got to be about 12 she would let me do some of the clothes. I ironed my clothes up until about 8 years ago and started using a local laundry service. It was cheap and they often looked better than what I would do. And yes they were able to fold the fitted sheet perfect. -
Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)

Same here. I was only able to do a pony tail. My mom would usually do basic braids in my daughters hair. While my sister would do the more complicated braids. -
I read somewhere that it was ambulance or fire truck siren and not police. They say that there is a difference. Guess I never noticed.

S09.E06: Meeting Mariah's Girlfriend
Pickleinthemiddle replied to Galloway Cave's topic in Sister Wives
I agree, my dad was one of 10 kids and he was about 4-5 years old during WW2. They were poor and didn't have much. Nothing was ever wasted. As a single mother myself, I learned to do with what I had. Even if it meant off brand quick oats for breakfast every day, cheap peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch every day, and pinto beans and rice for supper. I can feed myself healthy on about $20-30 a week. So I know other people can do it to. But I do understand there are people who need outside help. -
S09.E06: Meeting Mariah's Girlfriend

Do you think that is more Robyn wanting to move closer to her family? That is where her mom and stepdad live. I think it is 7 years. -
S09.E06: Meeting Mariah's Girlfriend

True. Not sure what message board i read it on, or if it's even true. That Robyn left with her kids and went back to her mom's, in order to get Kody to marry her. -
Meri Brown and her Wet Bar of Tears
Pickleinthemiddle replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Something tells me that Meri got more than her fair share of the family money over the years. The episode where her and Mariah were setting up Christmas decorations, she had enough stuff she could open a Christmas store. Then there was the episode that they were eating out and deciding if they were going to put money down on the lots. And Meri said yes, but they need to discuss this alone. Then in a talking heads, Meri looks at Janelle and says " I'm sorry if you think I took something that you thought belonged to you, or something like that. Janelle said I didn't say it was mine, but just that money was tight and she was renting a house in a much nicer neighborhood than the other wives. As it was Kody and Janelle both had to cash in their retirement funds and had just a small amount of money to get into the rental homes. -

I thought each purchase had to be documented on video?
