  1. Okay. I was expecting a cf Mexican stand-off with Noir dying, SB blasting and Ryan going laser and complicating things. I was not expecting it to be so paint by numbers and tied up in a bow. Why even introduce the family drama to end like that. They needed more episodes or a cliffhanger. Unless they introduce a Chuck character to explain how this worked out for them because so many lose threads suddenly tied off... It feels unearned and disappointing. Why didn't Hughie grab V to save Butcher and perhaps himself. He might be dying more slowly.
  2. I don't think he has moral high ground. Not sure I buy mental illness as a defense. Most show some mental illness. Badly expressed on my part.
  3. He slaughters because he has mental health issues... or because he wants to stay in the seven. He would have killed the female members if told to. He justifies his behavior with cartoon friends cheering him on and HL talks to himself in the mirror and the Deep had his wife telling him to eat Timothy...
  4. And none of them except Noir lasted as premiere supe material without SB.
  5. Mmm... not sure that's accurate. He has been Stan's hit man throughout and certainly has blood on his hands in that regard. He also does whatever Homelander says... He's the next stop on the Payback tour. Maybe Stan gave it to him for both if them... Special alloy... we may not see Stan but he's still has skin in the game with Noir.
  6. He might want to protect her because he couldn't protect the one A-Train killed. It's psychological and related to trauma as much if not more than the toxic masculinity theme that's running through the season. His entire raison d'etre for joining the Boys was righting that wrong
  7. Aquaman being useless is a trope. I think he will prove to be pivotal and have a redemption. I assumed he planned to go down fighting
  8. Three teasers and not much to go on. My husband and I are wondering if Noir makes it. The show gives him less to do than the Deep in general and payback's a beyatch. SB and V Building will definitely blow which I hope means Homelander is depowered in s 4. I expect Hughie and Butcher to take V courtesy of Starlight saving them and probably making them more powerful. Ryan meets grandad and complicates another finale
  9. She wants her daughter to be able to defend herself. That much is obvious. Protecting her daughter is her driving motivation. MM had issues all along. They have ramped up because he got back with Butcher and supes are his trigger, especially SB. The fact that his wife went fir someone the polar opposite of him in every way is another trigger and also telling of how much his mental illness and tendencies towards anger and violence impacted his marriage. It's probably why he was always in the brig too. They are certainly emphasizing toxic relationships this season and toxic masculinity. Characters like Frenchie and the Deep stand out as nurturing although the Deep is too weak to be his true self in front of HL; his desperation to be one of the Seven leads him to do despicable things to Starlight and to Timothy.
  10. I see a power loss across the board. HL might have some inherited power that he wouldn't lose but his showy powers would have to be V induced which is why Butcher got them too; we see Butcher's laser eyes and know that HL did not inherit that and he did not inherit flying. He might still be strong, fast whatever he might have inherited from SB and also from his mon if she was indeed Liberty. It won't be a forever loss. They will manage to get V even if they are in the outs with Stan and Vought. It may change the dynamics for a while. Maybe the Deep is somehow immune and is stronger than HL for once... who knows how can and will play out. SB will blast.
  11. To protect her... so she would be strong and able to defend herself. I suppose the presumption is that she would develop strong useful powers being Victoria's daughter. See... SB... HL... Ryan. HL may have been dosed too... we don't know what Vought did to him.
  12. Well... it can definitely be said that he sleeps with the fishes.
  13. I am afraid that we are supposed to extrapolate that They used Liberty/Stormfront's eggs to create Homelander and remember his mommy fetish and think ehh... he's tragic test tube Oedipus. Of course Oedipus kills his father and his mother commits suicide. Hopefully Homelander does not kills SB because that would be disappointing.
  14. Hi Myrelle_ Regarding SB, JA has said that he Hopes that he is invited back and Kripke is talking about JDM for s 4. I do not believe that Kripke would bring up JDM unless. Yeah he was joking about a Supernatural reunion but he seemed pretty serious about JDM and more joking about Jared and Misha. If he's serious about JDM then SB is not dead. The episode 8 trailers suggest a blast which is what I speculated and certainly a cliffhanger makes the most sense. It stands to reason SB will blow one way or another at Vought tower and disappear. We won't know who lost power. Next season will be a reboot maybe with a new team even or not. IDK. We have to get his backstory though. And also find out exactly what MM's story is about. Did that really happen the way MM remembers and if so why. Exactly. That solution requires a containment set up and whomever doses him could die. It looked like people keeled over in the videos.
  15. Mmmm.... Yes. SB wanted kids however Homelander is not at all the son he would want or wanted. What did Butcher's dad call his sons... yeah. That's how SB would think of his emotional, base wearing hair-dyed, spandex clad, star spangly son who just wants to be loved. He would see him as unmanly. Noir is no match for him. They needed Mindstorm and that was before he leveled up. When he is attacked now he goes nuclear and everyone else loses their powers. I object to the labeling as bad without knowing the backstory. Ignoring the torture and ptsd. Giving the violence and rude behavior of other characters a pass; just imagine what they might be like with v in their system for decades... I think MM would he a lot like SB if you gave him V; mental illness and a tendency towards violence is there. The drug clearly exaggerates tendencies that are already there. Taking speculation to that thread...
  16. His wife is the insightful intellect and the Deep is not so deep or insightful. He does love his sealife especially multilimbed mollusks of both sexes. I feel he can definitely be redeemed with better role models.
  17. I think both will need regular V to heal and to satisfy their need/addiction to power. Yes Hughie did show growth in the episode and good on him for self awareness and the ability to see some things clearly. It may save his relationship in the long run. However he is still jonesing for the power rush and competitive edge. We are seeing the twin themes of daddy issues (and mommy, issues) and toxic masculinity. Only Frenchie seems to have really broken free through his love and caring for Kimoko which is what makes that coupling so endearing. We definitely need to see SB's story and viewpoint. We are seeing everyone else's. It may be that we will get his via a pivotal conversation in which he tries to impart lessons on how to be a man to Homelander. Also perhaps in confrontations with Noir.
  18. Okay... When Stan engineered the takedown of SB it was also the demise of Payback and the Dawn if the Seven. I predict he's doing the same thing here. By engineering the takedown if Homelander he is planning on replacing the original Seven with newbies lead by Silver Kincaid. Next season they will all be on the outs... except maybe Noir who is Stan's man... if he lives. SB will blast leaving the old Secen powerless and in disarray. Stan puts together a new team.
  19. MM has serious anger management issues, violent outbursts and disruptive ocd. His storyline was the mirror to SB's punches and all ironically. She went to the opposite end of the spectrum.
  20. Vought can spin anything.... Sb American hero tortured for decades by Russians and psychologically damaged brought back to America and saved by his son the Homelander.... now a heartwarming movie for the family.
  21. I think that's exactly SB will do. Nice Sammy cb. Spot on.
  22. Well ... What if SB is using the information he received as A way to get to Noir and Voight. Ttbose ate the next steps on the Payback tour. He seems hellbent on that. Sb is an excessive personality. He is larger than life, hedonistic, everything is in excess. We have not seen his story, his side. Definitely there is excessive rage issues which leads to excessive violence. Vought wanting him out could be Vought jot wanting to control hi. His team turned on him and attacked him and he fought his team ferociously. Until I see him behave like a monster now.... I chalk it up to lesser dupes jealousy and corporate politics. He is totally flawed. I think that the cartoon sequence is no different than the mirror sequence it's a Rashomon perspective of a biased character. Honestly I need to watch that again because Noir seems seriously conflicted about what he did. He did what Stan/Vought wanted and got the other supes to go along with it. Noir is scared of SB and he seems to feel ashamed of what he did and the reasons why. It's sad really because if he wasn't damaged Noir perhaps would have evolved into a better supe. I think the season has to end on a cliffhanger. Kripke recently threw out JDM's name for 4; I think he did... right . I don't tbink he would do that capriciously. So I definitely see SB in 4 too. SB gets to Vought and it explodes because he goes nuclear. He depowers several supes and he takes out all of the V except for what's in Starlight's bag. She also took doses for Hughie and Butcher to save them. Hopefully Victoria is depowered along with HL. There will be a Vought lab with more V somewhere I am sure.... maybe even a new formula which could be fun. I know Frenchie figured out SB's kryptonite however they need the setup. The stuff and a way to do it with6killing themselves. A tall order. Not sure about this solution.
  23. I agree that there's a lot unknown about the character.
  24. He escaped Russia, took out 3 KGB and made it to us without help. He has skills. He was capable of taking out Payback on his own. He was smart enough to recognize that the Boys were useful: they are supplying him with what he needs and wants.
  25. What reading on the side... it's pretty clear that this is not the SB from the comics. They reworked the characters for the story that they wanted to tell. The Noir/HL dynamic is substantially different. There is some pretty deep dark father stuff happening especially in real time between Butcher and Hughie. Bringing up Kent State suggests SB's temper was the issue or maybe his paranoia that they were tampered with by Mindwhatever... Dealey Plaza was Kennedy's assassination which suggests he was a top notch assassin and marksman; it's indicating he's the second shooter and the one that actually did the kill shot.
