Between this and The Kids Are Alright being cancelled, I will have two less shows to watch in prime time next season (I still have The Conners, though!).

But really, none of us were ever sure there would be anything beyond this season. It's clear the cast and crew were just happy to be together again, no matter how long it lasted, and knew to enjoy it and hold on to it, and that's more or less what I tried to do, too. I remember watching the New Years last episode last December, thinking that it certainly FELT like a series finale. I don't really feel like I've been cheated of a resolution to anything here. I'm disappointed, but only because we won't see any of them again, not because it was a bad ending. It wasn't. It was just right. 🙂

Yep. Not surprised that they did this for what it's worth either.

It would have to be on dvd too, as not everyone is interested in streaming sites.

"The Cool Kids" and "The Kids are Alright" also got the axe today.  I'm still waiting to find out about "The Orville" and "American Housewife".

Ah. Well that's a bummer. Hope it works out for the other shows. I'm tired of networks being so quick on the draw these days. They seem to serve their corporate masters/advertisers far more these days than the audience.

Well, this just sucks especially right after hearing today that another show I watch has been canceled and knowing that at least 3 others I watch are still waiting to hear on their fate.  I have a sinking feeling this is going to be happening a lot with shows I watch, and it NEVER used to happen.  It seems to have nothing to do with ratings, either.  Really sucks.  At this rate I'll have to take up a new hobby.

Which ones? Yep and that kind of thing sucks. I hate when networks pull this kind of stunt.

I watch two other shows on CBS-"Criminal Minds" and Stephen Colbert's show. And "Criminal Minds" will be wrapping up after their next season. So eventually I'll be watching just one thing on that network :p. Woo.

That's kind of me. I watch Blue Bloods on it sometimes and Jeopardy.

I noticed the difference in his hair this week. His sideburns are thicker and the top a little fuller, but it’s  a very good hairpiece.

When I had chemo I was given a combo that did not cause me to lose my hair, it just caused it to thin, and it did go back to normal after I finished treatment.

Chemo is exhausting. They give you steroids the day before and the day of to prevent nausea, and you feel great, then comes the letdown along with extreme fatigue. When you start feeling normal, it’s time for the next round.

I hope he does well. It’s encouraging that he can still host the show.

    Definitely. Hardly noticed the difference.

I hope he does as well. Word.

Exactly. Wouldn't the show runner know the news before the tv sites? They must really hate Murphy Brown to keep on spinning this bs.

And Diane English is still onto them.

Also came across this bit via Buffalo News:

Buffalo native and “Murphy Brown” creator Diane English should find out very soon whether the reboot of the series will get a second season from CBS. All the broadcast networks are announcing their fall and mid-season schedules next week in New York City in the annual event called the Upfronts.

If it brings back bad memories, I can see how some don't like it.  I only mentioned it because I normally HATE the Progressive ads, but this one, and the wacky new maid one are tolerable to me.

I think they're poking fun at some old "very special" sitcom episodes, just like the new maid one with Flo.  They've made fun of after school specials and stuff like that before.

It doesn't for me, but I can see where you're coming from there. I'm just annoyed by the commercial overall. Ah. I love the wacky new maid one as well. That's one of my faves by them. What do you think of the one where Jamie and another agent run away from Flo? That one is pretty funny too.

Ah fair point on that. I kind of saw it that way too. I'm thinking it's in part a case of overkill in terms of how many times I've seen it.

I agree for the most part, but do chuckle at the one where he's the new stepdad.  He tells the one kid to not spoil his dinner, and he yells "YOU'RE NOT MY DAD!!!".  Then Jamie is all "That's fair".  That one makes me chuckle.

I don't mind the one where he and another worker run away from Flo and I tolerate the house one, but the 'You're not my dad!' one makes me mute my tv. (It's a subjective commercial, and I can see how others might laugh at it though.)

  9. Been getting this one wrong for years!

    From Invisble Touch -- Genesis:

What I think it is --

She seems to have an invisible attraction yeah
She reaches in, grabs right hold of your heart
She seems to have an invisible attraction yeah
It takes control and slowly tears you apart.

    The actual lyrics --

She seems to have an invisible touch yeah
She reaches in, grabs right hold of your heart
She seems to have an invisible touch yeah
It takes control and slowly tears you apart.

Big thanks to Phil Collins and his enunciation. 🤣

I couldn't stand Jamie Lee Curtis on NCIS, but I usually like her in other shows.     Jeff Goldblum on L&O CI started out unlikable to , but when they added some back story, with his father (F. Murray Abraham was so good), and other history, I liked him a lot better.     I think they wrote his character as the new Goren, and it just didn't work out.

There are a bunch I can't stand though, Lisa Rinna, Tori Spelling and her current husband.   The dance teacher on Dance Moms, who seems so nasty to the girls.

Yea I think they were going in that direction as well. It was more than obvious. And honestly, it kind of got on my nerves a bit. Betting it's in part due to fans not liking it as to why it didn't work out.

I saw the news on another website and was really shocked. Not thrilled about the recent Netflix cancellation spree, especially of popular shows.

I just heard about it too. Never watched any of the shows as I don't have Netflix, but I feel bad for you guys. It really, really sucks when shows are cancelled.

Wondering if any of the cancellations are money related, ie: Netflix doesn't want to pay cast/crew more.
