My local library has most of the entire series of Night Court on DVD to borrow.
That's actually not a bad place to try for old TV shows.
Nice!
Not in my area sadly... people don't take good care of dvd's. They are all scratched up to high heaven, as in they're unreadable. 🤦♂️

Damn. 😢 Condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
QuoteWilly Wonka & the Chocolate Factory star Denise Nickerson has been taken off life support one year after suffering a severe stroke.
Her son, Josh Nickerson, and his wife, Jasmine, announced the actress, 62, had been removed from “all the equipment” Wednesday morning on Facebook.
“None of it was helping, but making her only more uncomfortable. We’re telling her it’s okay to let go,” the couple wrote on the page they created to provide updates on Nickerson’s health.

Been mishearing 'Carefree Highway' by Gordon Lightfoot for years.
I hear the main line as 'Every highway'... instead of 'Carefree Highway'. 😂

Does Marie Kondo count? I've heard of so many people talk, mention about her and her tidying methods, that just even seeing her name or hearing about said method, makes me cringe.

It's a bummer it didn't last on Discovery, but I'm glad that Bravo picked it up. Love that show.

Agreed. I think the term "man cave" sounds dumb, too, 'cause it brings to mind, well...the image of cavemen.
I thought "she sheer" was what she was saying :p. I have never heard the term "chichier" before.
Same here. Only found out afterwards that she was saying the latter.

Sheryl's She Shed - never underestimate the power of alliteration.
Yep. Especially when chichier sounds like 'she sheer'. 🤣

Any restaurant with the word "chuck" in it is not getting my patronage.
"Fluidity Bar" sounds like a weight loss product that keeps you near the bathroom..
Or it sounds like a strange name for a bar or some strange new version of limbo.

Not sure if this has been posted or not, but I came across a nice behind the scenes of Jeopardy from 2017 on Youtube. 🙂

It looks like GOG (Good Old Games) may have devised a solution to my greatest pet peeve as a PC gamer. Multiple game lauchers because you bought games from different storefronts/publishers. (Right now, I have Steam, Ubisoft, GOG, Epic, Origin and probably some others I have forgotten.)
GOG Galaxy 2.0 Might Actually Be Able To Unite Warring PC Storefronts
While I look forward to this, the cynic in me says that the affected storefronts are already scheming to break GOG's solution.
Bless GOG. That's brilliant!
Yea I'm thinking they'll probably do that too. That said, I hope it works out.

For me, jumping shark isn't necessarily a show going bad or sliding down. It is one specific event or plot point is so fucking ridiculous that you can tell at that moment that the creators have lost their damned minds. And of course it leads the show into something you no longer recognize.
For me that was the introduction of B-613 on Scandal. Prior to that, the first 2 seasons of Scandal were fantastic. The election stealing plot, the assassination plot, the episodic stuff with Olivia as a fixer. Great stuff.
But then we meet her parents. Her mom is a terrorist and her father is the head of a shady organization and suddenly so is everyone else around her and it has cannibalized the show. Everything became about B613 and its spy vs. spy shenanigans. Two seasons worth of character development was shit canned, personalities were retconned and the show went from a nice serialized show with some soapy elements to a murky conspiracy laden crap fest. I could never watch again after season 3.
Sooo much this with the XF. I didn't recognize any of the characters in s10 and 11 due to that.

Can this include voice actors from cartoons?
I remember June Foray, Dan Castellaneta , Rob Paulsen, Mark Hamill, Jim Cummings.
As for other voices: Dick Clark and Casey Kasem.

The State Farm "Don't mess with my discount!" ad is terrible. It just makes the woman look like a lunatic over a measly discount.
I don't know why Progressive sticks with the annoying Flo and Jamie when the "turning into your parents" ads are so much funnier and more creative.
Oh yes. I hate that commercial with a passion!

Just started to watch this show and I like it so far (I'm watching the 1999 version).

Ok guys, got a bit of a mystery! Just saw this on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/556335360203024050/
I think it's of Perry and the woman he loved before. Pretty sure on it. Just from a better angle!
Closest I can think of is the Case of the Lost Love. It was very hard trying to get a pic from it to use for comparison though.

Unskippable cutscenes are also a huge pain
not being able to skip them when they're intrusive is worse--especially in games with poor checkpoint placement
Can relate on the latter. Especially when any checkpoints are back in town and you have to backtrack to get to them. Add in any game freezing bugs and it makes for an unplayable game.

😢 Thanks for the memories.

So do I. I like watching characters grow and evolved. Watching characters never growing or evolving is usually why I quit watching.
I could hug this post. Exactly. When they aren't allowed to do so, it's so sad and tragic. So much potential and yet so much wasted.

I think Mulder and Scully is one of those cases where the partnership was better than them hooking up and it was better to have not wanted more thinking it was going to be a good thing.
Nah. It comes down to what CC wanted, period. He wanted the characters to be work partners only. To just serve the stories he wanted to be told. Frank Spotnitz mentioned that CC didn't want the characters to grow or evolve. That says a lot. And honestly, I find that kind of thing to be boring.

Okay, now I want Taco Bell to actually use that in an ad :p.
That would be awesome, if they were able to get permission to do so. With that possible Frasier reboot, who knows? 😋

The Land That Time Forgot: TV Shows That Haven't Aired In A Long Time
in Everything Else TV
· Edited by AntiBeeSpray
Yep, but a bit of a caveat: Be careful while looking, a lot of times the discs can be scratched badly and sometimes can show signs of disc rot (meaning white residue on discs (sometimes it's dust, but if there's a ton of it there - then most likely the disc is no good)), and some have pitting on them... any ones like that are no good either. And then there are empty cases, ran into some myself. Goodwill and other thrift stores try to get away with doing it too, as in selling said empty cases.
