I love that "Frasier" scene, too. "Let's all go to a...taco show!" is such a wonderfully strange line. That whole episode is hilarious.

Another great "Frasier" scene worth sharing, from the episode where Frasier and Niles find out the results of their IQ tests and both bid on a luncheon with some notable people:

Yea it is, and yet it sounds like something Taco Bell would do in order to show off their new kinds of tacos. 🤣 Word.

OMG I had to give up on Castle because the will they won't they was just so painfully bad. That show is one of the worst cases of writers not being good enough to have a successful couple to they throw every cliche obstacle at the couple to the point that they both look like horrible, selfish morons. Towards the end I couldn't stand Rick Castle (I never cared for Beckett. She was a pile of cliches played by IMO a mediocre actress). I just couldn't watch the "dance" anymore.

Definitely. I loved it too, but that time it was a case of the actors not getting along and it showed on screen.

That said, I hate will they/won't they for ANY show. Period. I find it to be rather patronizing and annoying. XF did that until s7 originally and then tried and failed to bring it back in s10 by having Mulder and Scully broken up. There was absolutely no tension there. It was laughable to say the least. Then they tried to kiss shipper's butts in s11, but only having the characters be friends with benefits. 🙄

The real bitch of trying to quit certain shows is when I start the DVD collecting. Still collecting Grey's, Orange ITNB, Shameless, SOA etc...I'm way behind there!

And damn I'm damn sick of my SVU rotation of ADAs. That's the only one I'm current on. Very reluctantly.

Yep. I still have s11 of the XF to go. Only watched that for the lols, given things. But honestly would have quit after s10, given how the fans and the characters were treated.

Seriously, the show only really started to tank when Mariska was made an EP. Before that, it was still for the most part an ensemble show for the first couple of seasons after Chris Meloni left. When she began to become a producer and sometimes director as well as star...it became the All St. Olivia, All the Time Hour. Blecccccch.

Agreed. Now it's just what you mentioned and it's unwatchable. Only time I've come back is when Jack McCoy was on for an episode, and I missed him. 😛

Yea, I liked JAG, but this bringing in of Harm and Mac seemed pointless. I mean, Chegwidden's character has had a point when he's appeared on the show--and I like him.

All of them--except Deeks--have training as snipers (Callen was the sniper in Allegiance and in Out of the Past or Rude Awakenings), and both Callen and Sam were the snipers in the S9 finale.

I think my fav scene was Callen completely ignoring Hetty. Loved that and hope he stays pissed at her in S11. She just interferes in his life whenever she feels like it (I liked Hetty in the early seasons, but I'm tired of Hetty, the manipulator).

I'm wondering if they're doing it to try to bring in the JAG audience. That said, trying to pull old games isn't going to win them that many new viewers. Viewers don't like being manipulated.

Wow. She's that bad now? I like Hetty. It's too bad that her character's been wrecked.

    You mean this?

Sally Struthers said she was stunned to hear about Wednesday's live performance of an "All in the Family" script on ABC.

"Why? What is the point? It's a classic," she said. "'All in the Family' came at a moment in time that somehow turned out to be the perfect moment to put something that quote-unquote radical on TV, and it was the perfect cast. We had the perfect writers."

You can't turn around 40 years later and remake it, she said. She agrees there's a lot of civil unrest that mirrors the stress and upset of the 1970s, when civil rights issues, the war on drugs, the counterculture and more were roiling society.

"Nobody is going to be Carroll O'Connor," Struthers said. "Nobody but nobody is going to be another Jean Stapleton (who played Archie's wife, Edith). And I honestly don't see the point."

Her nephew suggested the networks might be interested in seeing how well the live show of "All in the Family" and "The Jeffersons" — with stars Woody Harrelson, Marisa Tomei, Ellie Kemper, Anthony Anderson, Sean Hayes, Jamie Foxx, Wanda Sykes, Justina Machado, Will Ferrell and Kerry Washington — score before rebooting the two series.

"Norman Lear is in his 90s," Struthers said. "I think he should just have fun and travel, and stop trying to make another mark on TV. He's made enough marks."

That sounds like a bit of sour grapes to me.

I felt similarly when I first heard about this special, but honestly, it wasn't bad, and if you prefer the older episodes, this set of them doesn't take anything away from it.

Didn't view this as a reboot. Just a nod to a pair of classics. Nothing more.

I was surprised that I ended up really enjoying it.  I mean, as with many things in this vein, it's best described as "unnecessary but fun" but it WAS fun.  Jeffersons was definitely the stronger of the two, but Anthony Anderson, Marisa Tomei, and Wanda kept AITF from being a total disaster, even with Jaime Foxx seeming to completely miss the point of what they were trying to do.

I think the best moment was J-Hud singing.

The thing got phenomenal ratings, so I'm sure they're going to do it again.  Dare I hope for Golden Girls next time?

Disagree there. I didn't find AITF to be a disaster at all, seriously. I don't get why people think that it was. Seen far worse acting.

Love it! They NEED to bring this out on dvd/blu-ray dang it! 😂

Well you can watch the originals unedited On Demand on Starz Encore if you have it. It’s also on MeTV.

Sundance will be airing All In The Family from the pilot starting next Wednesday. Since they always censor everything including the N-word, except if the show is about Nazis or Hate Crimes, I expect they’ll censor the N-word.

    I don't have either. I don't think I have Sundance as well.

ALL IN THE FAMILY: Oh poor Woody.  He SO was the weak point of this, and I bet by now he knows it.

Marisa was indeed the MVP. As over the top and variable as Woody's accent sounded, Marisa's was not only dead on, but solid and consistent. And she's the piece of casting I thought was totally nuts beforehand. I guess I forgot how good an actress she really is (and a pretty good comedienne as well).

I didn't mind him in it at all. Both him and Jamie Foxx were a bit over the top to be honest and Jamie made a mistake. Not a big one, but it was there. Thankfully he recovered very nicely from it. Thought Woody did a good job, given that the role is so iconic and people remember Carroll O' Connor so much in it. No one can replace him, role wise. And I didn't expect Woody to. He did his best.

And count me in as someone who didn't mind the person who played Meathead. Thought he had the role down pat.

There's a free trial. You might have to set up a new email account if you've already used yours.

I cannot find the 90 minute after show, "All About 'All in the Family' and 'The Jeffersons,'" anywhere.

Although I did a double take at Woody's hair, it worked for me because a lot of Archie Bunker types might have that kind of hair.
But I was annoyed that Woody didn't wear his fat suit like he did in the 17-years-later scenes of season one of True Detective. In this outing of AITF, he seemed to be showing off his trim body at age 57. IDK. Maybe he wasn't, but having watched True Detective 5 years ago, it seemed that way to me.

Ah thanks. ABC's site finally worked on my end. Turns out I think that too many people were trying to watch it at the same time. 😂

Both my mom and I really liked it, as in both All in the Family and the Jeffersons. We were laughing the whole way through.

I love AITF as a whole but was bored with the skit so I puttered about, waiting for The Jeffersons skit.

Woody and Marisa were great (although Marisa over sang the word 'days' at the end of the song IMO) and I liked the Lionel actor.  Sean Hayes was wasted in the Frank Lorenzo role....couldn't stand the character then and Sean was on for about two minutes.

Now The Jeffersons?  Jamie was on point as George and I loved when he flubbed his line and all that happened after.  He was overdoing the mannerisms in the beginning but then he ran with it and I enjoyed the ride.

Ja'net Du'Bois is still alive, couldn't she have sang the theme song?  The only positive thing I'll say for J-Blah is she had on the fiercest dress/romper/whatever that was, it was beautiful!

I just found out that Amber Stevens West had her baby last year, so it was jarring to see her because I thought she was still pregnant.

Wanda did a good Weezy and I liked seeing Jackee....was also good seeing Marla Gibbs,

Kerry and Will did a great job, Kerry had Helen's voice down pat.  It was annoying that the N-word wasn't used yet 'honky' was said loud and clear.

Finally, Norman Lear?  You look mahvelous for 96!

As much as I hope this is a one-off, if the ratings were good you just know we're going to get a Good Times/Maude show.

The N word was used. It was just censored.

    1. The JAG stuff was only important to the fans of that show. It adds nothing to NCIS-LA.

    2. Not a Nell and Eric together fan.

    3. Endings that take more than one season are fine if it makes sense.

    4. As far as the Deeks and Kensi "I love you" if you're in a situation that could end  your life what better time that to tell someone how you feel.

I was a fan of JAG, but honestly... it adds nothing to it as it continues the usual shipper-baiting. So over that kind of thing in shows. (Heck I didn't even watch the ep. I caught up via an article about it.)

I just knew that with the format change and lack of growth compare to other game shows that this would have gotten cancelled. Chris was a good host, but I believe the lack of contestants winning a million dollars and the move from New York to Vegas is what killed this show.

Wouldn't doubt it. I haven't seen anyone get million dollar prize in years. I honestly figured it was a set up at times too. Sometimes they'd let someone get far in it, but then stump them; other times they'd stump them earlier on if they wanted to kick them off sooner.
