  1. Echoing other posters here, I really want this snow storm arc to be over. Four episodes, at least, is just too long. And especially for a show that's starting midseason, and has an 18-episode season order. And I thought the blackout arc on 911 was tired. Yes, I get how Grace hates Billy, and he is a tool, and she loves to be self-reliant.. But your water has just broken and your are going into labor, and you want to drive yourself to the hospital, in a white-out blizzard? Where is the logic in that? She has to understand that it's not just her life she's putting at risk, and it might be a good thing to let go of her pride and let Billy help. It's the very least he could be doing for you. I love T.K., but his story is dragging on and on. Either live or die. Really could do without the inner-coma reality. It was already overused with Meredith Grey last year, And of course Owen has to always be the hero, and has to save everyone. What else is new?
  2. Sentimental is a bit of a stretch for this show. This show has become more of a dramatic soap opera that goes into overkill with 51 always (and I mean every single time) saving the day.
  3. Michael Beach has pretty good range as an actor, playing good guy and bad guy roles. 20 years ago, on Third Watch, he was a series regular playing the lead paramedic "Doc" Parker. And on SEAL Team, he's played a chaplain.
  4. I remember that being just such a joke, especially with Med. Pick a lane. If you include COVID, then properly portray it. Otherwise, just do a time jump to where COVID has been eliminated. The one foot in, one foot out part, while sprinkling in some COVID-related cases, was just very off-putting, and another sign of lazy writing.
  5. This is what I was saying last year. The fact that she was actually willing to not take the test simply because her Lieutenant boyfriend wasn't talking to her and giving her encouragement was an insult to all women in male-dominated environments. Needing to hear Severide constantly tell her "You got this Stella Kidd" is just a joke. Strong women don't need a man to give them positive re-enforcement. They have the confidence to believe in themselves. And that showed she wasn't ready at that point. And now after taking the test and passing, and Boden, Severide & Casey discussing her future, she realizes she's not ready. The writers have made Stella very weak, compared to when she first came onto the show, and was full of self-confidence.
  6. That's why I said next season. Not 3-4 years in real time. Is it really too slow to spend the rest of the season having Conrad and Cade develop a rapport and build a friendship, to the point where she feels comfortable explaining her past to him, and then put them together next season? One issue that plagues too many of these shows is that they want to ship characters together way too fast, instead of taking the time to let the characters work their way towards another. JMHO.
  7. In the story, it has been 3-4 years, but in real time, for viewers, VanCamp's character just left. We've seen Conrad with Nic for the first 4 seasons of the show. And now, in less than a year after last season ended with him and Nic fawning over their first child, he's going to be in a different relationship. There are many storylines that Conrad can do that don't require him to have a relationship in this season. We don't want him alone forever, but at least give us, the viewers, some time.
  8. That's my impression, like Jo on Grey's Anatomy. To have no digital footprint at all means somebody either has never used a computer or smartphone, is anti-social, or they're hiding from somebody and the name they give is not their real one. She could be a great fit for Conrad, but I still do wonder why the rush to pair him somebody. Emily Van Camp just left the show. Maybe have Conrad gain a proper rapport and friendship with Sullivan for the rest of the season, and then next season put them together.
  9. No, it wasn't. Maya Stojan played the surgical coach. And she hasn't been credited since this episode. So while AJ might have been more interested in her than the coaching, it doesn't appear to have gone anywhere. If I was the doctor, I would have wanted the guy discharged and out of there. If you want to believe Facebook groups and believe God will save you, then you can go die on your own outside of the hospital. We need the bed and the resources to help patients who want to live and trust their doctors to make the right decision. I'm not going waste my time and effort trying to save someone who doesn't want to be saved because of what somebody on Facebook said.
  10. This episode was the exception. Not the rule. Their drama, even before they got together, was suffocating the show. Especially in most of the episodes this season. Hence, most of us have been pleading for the show to cool it on their relationship focus. Seeing them focus on the Christina character in this episode, instead of just her relationship with Street was much more interesting. That's what the show seemingly had gotten away from. They stopped trying to develop her character, and just tried push the relationship drama with Street.
  11. Something tells me the show doesn't have that much longer with the Sunday move, after already coming from a Friday slot. Maybe one more season, at best. And if it's going to stay on Sunday for next season, I would expect a truncated episode order and a midseason start date. That's what most everybody is wishing. This show is supposed to be an action drama. Not a romantic drama about the Christina-Street relationship. Having their relationship thrust in our faces was the main reason why I didn't want them together. The episodes, without the focus on them, are pretty watchable. But there's so much focus on them in the episodes.
  12. The Chicago shows would have finished up their fall finales on November 17, a full week before Thanksgiving, if they had kept going. Much better than having 8 episodes in a row, taking a month off, one episode, and then another month off. The one thing that has plagued this series for years, especially once they all got on the same night, was proper pacing of episodes. You can't build something up over 4-5 episodes, and then right when it's about to reach a climax. break for a month, come back with just the one episode, and then break for another 3 weeks or a month.
  13. I though the episode was OK. But for a time jump, not much seems different except for some of the characters' appearances. Not to mention, there doesn't seem to be any new piece of tech or devices to indicate a 5 year time jump. I know we're only looking at 2024-25, so we're not talking flying cars or anything, but the writers could brainstorm some kinds of new tech. I also do think that last plot with Bell before the plot twist is going to be explored. Otherwise, what would have been the point of delving into it in the first place? And I really am indifferent to Bell and Kit being in a relationship. They were much better as friends, IMO. But as we know, these shows don't know the first thing about making a relationship between a man and woman platonic. And more so, she's a CEO in a relationship with someone who works under her. And that could compromise her authority going forward.
  14. Padma's going to be a recurring character, from what I read on TVLine.
  15. Could not agree more!!!! It detracts from the episode, IMO.
  16. Considering the show runners don't even care about keeping the show authentic, this really shouldn't be that surprising anymore. They just want to stoke the drama, no matter how unbelievable or implausible, and hope us viewers aren't smart enough (we are) to catch on.
  17. Who makes these schedules? 8 episodes in a row to start the season, and then wait a month for the fall finale, and then no more episodes until the new year. That's terrible pacing. They would have been better off having the fall finale next week, and then break until the new year.
  18. This show simply does not like killing people off. No matter bad their injury is. They can lose a lot of blood, or not be found for five days with a slit throat, and they'll still be fine. Like Alvin last season. Shame. And I preferred this show over Chicago Fire and Station 19 specifically because it wasn't boring or constantly bogged down with personal drama. I guess we should have known when the blackout episodes were centered around Athena.
  19. Considering Chimney's been a member of the LAFD since 2005, according to the "Chimney Begins" episode from Season 2, and his only significant time off was due to medical leave due to the rebar in his skull and getting stabbed, he could have a lot of vacation time to dig into, especially if he's hardly used any of it before. So it's not out of the realm. At the same time, I do agree that this story is dragging on. I wish Chimney had listened to Buck when he said to give Maddy time to come back to him. At this point, showing him driving and his other travel scenes just seem to to be filler for the episodes.
  20. The last 6 years, it's become glaringly apparent that he doesn't know the first thing about what happens in a firehouse. Or more so, he doesn't seem to care. He just looks for any way to manufacture drama, no matter how incredulous, inauthentic or unrealistic it is.
  21. This echoes my exact feelings on what another cop show I used to like, Chicago PD, has become.
  22. And I recall Deacon, Tan and Luca giving him a hard-time and telling him dating the boss' daughter is a big no-no. It would have been nice to see that relationship actually work to prove them wrong. What are those guys going to say when they find out Street and Alonso are now together? If their response is "It's not as bad as dating the boss' daughter," then they are truly delusional.
  23. Due to the Cheastros winning last night, the airdate is going to be pushed to 11/9.
  24. However, I think Bones actually lost a little something after their romantic tension turned into a full-blown romance. In these types of first responder shows, especially where it's clear that the female character is in the minority, putting them together with male lead just makes them look weak. Instead of being kick-ass at their job and showing how good they are, they wind up only actually existing for the relationship. Stella Kidd on Chicago Fire is a prime example. And it's an insult to female first responders. And it's especially frustrating when you consider SWAT is an action drama, and good enough to not need this kind of relationship. We watch SWAT for the action. Not the drama of two team members getting together.
  25. Could not agree more!!!! It gets so stupid. And all these relationships do is detract from the main story. SWAT is an action drama, that doesn't need a romantic storyline amongst team members. SEAL Team, another action drama, is falling into this same trap. Platonic relationships on TV are like an endangered species. But it needs to be done. Men and women can be good friends and have each other's backs and care deeply about one another WITHOUT needing to be romantically involved. That would be so refreshing on these shows. Not to mention, forcing these relationships makes the woman look very weak, as they only seem to exist for the relationship. We see this on Chicago Fire with the Stella Kidd character. The optics of making the lone female in a first responder position be in a romantic relationship with someone she works with just looks bad, and it's an insult to actual female first responders. That's why I've never been and never will be a fan of this Streetlonso crap. All it does is take away from the show and makes her look weak. It would be refreshing if a lead female character on one of these shows could simply stand out on their own merits, and doesn't need a relationship to define them. Exactly. I believe they interviewed Hargitay and Meloni during the early seasons of SVU, and they both agreed that they'd never want their characters to be romantically involved because it would ruin their relationship. Meloni said back in 2016 about the producers not pairing them up: That's something that all writers and producers should read and try to understand today.
