  1. I agree. I think she does a good job delivering her line. Most of these kids don't bother me, even if the commercial does.
  2. That was Mabeuf, a former revolutionary regicide, who after encountering the Bishop becomes a churchwarden (left out of this version). He's the one who told Marius about his father in an earlier episode. Mabeuf returns to his republican roots on the barricade.
  3. I'll assume you've seen "The Wire", the best TV drama series ever.
  4. While I agree that most of them who are running have no chance and aren't even going to get name recognition out of their effort, the party looks fractured and disorganized because the news media keeps saying this makes the party look fractured and disorganized. In reality most people aren't really paying attention. Right now the polls basically reflect name recognition, except for Mayor Pete, who has an interesting story.
  5. I always referred to SOS (the chipped beef version) as "creamed manila folder on toast", much to my parents' dislike.
  6. Many of the Never Trumpers are in the same category. They seem to forget they nominated Sarah Palin to being a heartbeat away from the Presidency,
  7. For all his current complaining about Trump, there's very little difference between him and Trump personality-wise.
  8. Even if he knows what it means, it doesn't matter, he knew what he was doing throwing that word around when describing Obama saving the economy for capitalism. He and the rest of the Republican pack was calling Obama's recovery plans "socialism" every day back then. Just like Reagan's famous "Medicare is socialism" record and the current Republicans tossing the word around for AOC , Warren, etc. It's the old McCarthyism, red scare ploy, 70 years too late.
  9. I agree with that. He seems to be cultivating an Obama-eque demeanor, in contrast to the current Resident.
  10. Me-TV showed two more top "The Dick van Dyke Show" episodes, crowd favorite "It May Look Like a Walnut" and a good Laura episode "The Curious Thing About Women." R.I.P. "Twin Peaks" and "The Mod Squad" actress Peggy Lipton has passed away.
  11. Technically the convention picks the VP.
  12. Somehow I really doubt she ever had fun. She strikes me as the girl in class who'd remind the teacher that she forget the quiz she had announced earlier.
  13. Joe wants Democrats who are Scarborough Republicans. If Democrats do that they better know their KYJ.
  14. Unfortunately, we didn't get much Gavroche (sassy but ultimately good). They didn't even point out that those two little kids he was helping were (unknown to Gavroche) his brothers. There's a lot more of him in the book. And no elephant. :-(
  15. My father liked KP because he got to eat more Army food, which goes to show what we were eating as kids.
  16. I actually preferred library paste to Šunkofleky! :)
  17. You might want to try Šunkofleky then. Another horror from my childhood. http://www.czechinthekitchen.com/2013/04/15/noodle-casserole-czech-sunkafleky/ Ditto on Šunkofleky.
  18. Most things with the word "casserole" in it is "white-trash cooking." I ate a lot of casserole as a kid and also a lot of SOS, which is even one step below casserole. I'd rather have my mouth washed out with Lifebuoy than eat SOS.
  19. Joe's book "The Last Best Hope" asserts: • How the “candidate of change” has not only maintained but accelerated the reckless spending policies that led us to this historic economic collapse • How Barack Obama’s stimulus plan devolved into a socialist spending spree that would make FDR and LBJ shudder
  20. It seemed like they used to show "The Dirty Dozen" like every month.
