  1. I don't believe fully grown adults' deeply-held political views vary radically after they are set. I do believe that people who espouse political views to further their own ends will bend with whatever wind best helps their current self-interest.
  2. Besides mini "The Saint" and "Route 66" marathons over the weekend, I notices that late Sun./early Mon. ZLiving will be running two episodes of "The Red Skelton Show"
  3. I don't believe that if Joe was still in Congress Sandy Hook would have made any difference in his public views. Not exactly a profile in courage.
  4. It's not secret information, Anyone with access to the Internet can find it. I doubt many of the donors are embarrassable at this point. If they are giving to him, they know what he is.
  5. Joe voted to repeal the assault weapons ban, Joe voted against gun-show background checks. In his candidate questionnaire Joe stated “The founding fathers did not give us the 2nd Amendment to protect our rights to shoot ducks. Our constitutional right to bear arms is so we may protect our family in the manner we choose. No compromise!" https://www.redstate.com/streiff/2018/02/16/joe-scarborough-guns-fully-woke-just-flaming-say-anything-ratings-hypocrite/
  6. Joe had a 100% rating from the NRA when he was a Congressman. He voted against an anti-terrorism bill because the NRA opposed it (don't want to stop terrorists from getting guns, because "guns don't kill", after all). I guess it's easy to be against guns now that he no longer needs to be re-elected.
  7. I watched the American Experience show on Woodstock. I wish they had dug deeper into the experience rather than largely rehashing the Woodstock movie.
  8. (Friedrich) Hayek, economist, But Joe did stay at a Hyatt before anyone else.
  9. I can't wait for the ads from the personal injury lawyers when it turns out Lolo causes... (your guess here).
  10. Not that I'd ever buy SuperBeets, but having former NRA-TV "personality" Dana Loesch as your spokesperson assures that I won't. You gotta wonder the thinking (or lack of it) that went into that choice. I guess Hitler and Idi Amin were too busy.
  11. Same theory as "rinse and repeat." Repeat just means you need to buy more, sooner.
  12. Zliving ran the final episode of "Route 66." I had forgotten that they actually wrote a conclusion to the series (unfortunately Buz had left by then), which I think was fairly unique for that era. Tod gets married (to Barbara Eden, no less) and Linc returns to obscurity (and fistfights) in Texas.
  13. Tonight (Sat.) on ZLiving Mystery Science Theatre 3000. (Hopefully this will become a regular.)
  14. If you don't have one, you improvise! Esp. if you're a kid.
  15. Early episodes of "The Saint" had some good guest stars: Shirley Eaton (from "Goldfinger", appeared more than once), Julie Christie, Honor Blackman, Samantha Eggar, Anthony Quayle, along with a lot of British character actors.
  16. According to the Charity Navigator site they spend 75% on its program and services Program Expenses (Percent of the charity's total expenses spent on the programs and services it delivers) 75.4% Administrative Expenses 10.1% Fundraising Expenses 14.3% https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=3889 Charity Watch considers a charity to be highly efficient when their end calculations produce a Program % of 75% https://www.charitywatch.org/charitywatch-criteria-methodology I still find the ads questionable.
  17. I put a thin enough coating of peanut butter and watched the timing, so there wasn't a lot of dripping. I may have been a kid, but I was sneaky.
  18. Hot peanut butter! I was a kid, what did I know? (It never did anything to the toaster and nobody ever noticed, so apparently it wasn't that big of an issue.) Obviously I don't it this now, or eat mayonnaise, or sugar sandwiches.
  19. Toaster. Open faced sandwich. That's why no one could be looking. Actually they are pretty darn good sandwiches.
  20. I also liked sugar sandwiches, sugar and margarine on white bread. And toasted rye peanut butter sandwiches- put peanut butter on rye bread, then put in the toaster (when no one's looking).
  21. As a kid I used to eat mayonnaise sandwiches. Yum!
  22. For those who prefer watching shows from the first episode of season one, ZLiving will start rerunning "Route 66" from episode one on Friday night.
