  1. Here's the pizza ad, which I also think is really funny.
  2. One of the Kardashians should marry Shaq then that would be all we'd ever see.
  3. R.I.P. Nehemiah Persoff Persoff probably appeared on every Retro drama series (if not multiple times) there was, usually playing a villain. IMDB lists over 200 credits as an actor. https://variety.com/2022/film/obituaries-people-news/nehemiah-persoff-dead-yentl-1235226599/
  4. I really like the United Insurance ad about ketchup on hotdogs that runs in Chicago. It's part of a series. The pizza one was good too.
  5. Applause was not terribly unusual in the late 50s and early 60s at first-run theaters for "blockbuster" movies. I think there was applause at the end when I saw "Star Wars."
  6. Article about forthcoming "Big Bang Theory" book: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/big-bang-theory-book-to-reveal-untold-secrets-about-hit-comedy-exclusive-1235121289/
  7. I noticed that ZLiving, the most incompetent retro channel, appears to be running "Route 66" late Friday nites (but just because its on their schedule, doesn't mean it will appear). They've also been running "The Real McCoys" binges on weekends.
  8. Waxing On: The Karate Kid and Me Ralph Macchio ISBN: 9780593185834 Since The Karate Kid first crane-kicked its way into the pop culture stratosphere in June 1984, there hasn’t been a week Ralph Macchio hasn’t heard friendly shouts of “Wax on, wax off” or “Sweep the leg!” Now, with Macchio reprising his role as Daniel LaRusso in the #1 ranked Netflix show Cobra Kai, he is finally ready to look back at this classic movie and give the fans something they’ve long craved. The book will be Ralph Macchio’s celebratory reflection on the legacy of The Karate Kid in film, pop culture, and his own life. It will be a comprehensive look at a film that shaped him as much as it influenced the world. Macchio will share an insider's perspective of the untold story behind his starring role—the innocence of the early days, the audition process, and the filmmaking experience--as well as take readers through the birth of some of the film’s most iconic moments. Ultimately, the book centers on the film itself, focusing on the reason that the characters and themes have endured in such a powerful way and how these personal experiences have impacted Macchio's life. It will bring readers back to the day they met Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Miyagi for the first time, but will also provide a fascinating lens into how our pasts shape all of us and how the past can come back to enrich one's life in surprising and wonderful ways.
  9. No, she's an "actual neuroscientist", which is even better.
  10. Maybe Mike Huckabee could fall asleep faster if he wasn't such a disgusting blowhard. Could be guilt keeping him awake.
  11. Just discovered this great show. Nice, calm, relaxing hour with a wonderfully personable cast.
  12. I always think of it as the "ingenue syndrome."
  13. "The Repair Shop" is a really enjoyable show. Glad you like it too,
  14. BBC America "doesn't" run the show (it's on Discovery). That's what I was complaining about. I'm sure there's plenty of new or old British shows they could be running rather than "Star Trek."
  15. Discovery is running a great BBC show "The Repair Shop". Very Calm and relaxing. I have to wonder why BBC American doesn't run this British show instead of "Star Trek"?
  16. I reread the book by John Wyndham a few years ago and thought it holds up. It has a good plot for a miniseries.
  17. I went to high school in the 60s in Illinois and the school had a boys pool and a girls pool (the boys swam naked, the girls got swimsuits).
