  1. There appears to be multiple theories on it. Garner claimed that it was to prevent a revival, but another theory was that the network might buy a more conventional western with Garner more of a gunfighter.
  2. BK has been in trouble for years. They've been owned by hedge funds, who seemed to be sucking money out i=of them (as hedge funds are wont to do).
  3. He also looks a lot like Handsome Major Angus MacZongo of the planet Doohan 6 (Futurama).
  4. This story is told briefly in the Jimmy Stewart movie "The FBI Story" (1959).
  5. The new episodes of the sci-fi animated series, officially the show’s eighth season, will debut on Hulu on July 24
  6. That might have been the excuse of the writers, so they could reasonably have only the people who want to get rid of Sheldon pay for the trip.
  7. Cheers to TV: Cocktails Inspired by Iconic Television Characters Will Francis ISBN: 9783791388229 The duo behind Cocktails of the Movies returns with dozens of delicious and easy-to-prepare drinks that will elevate your next TV watch party. The perfect pop culture pairing, this collection of drinks inspired by iconic television characters blends old and new, spicy and sweet, strong and mellow. Cheers to TV connects sixty cocktails to stars of the small screen. Some are invented specifically for that character, such as the Bloody Ending, inspired by Game of Thrones’ Daenerys Targaryen, or the Stringer Bell, an ode to The Wire. Others deliver a TV twist to an established cocktail—a Rusty Nail for Better Call Saul’s titular hero, for instance. Some are cocktails created by the show itself—Absolutely Fabulous’ Stoli-Bolli is sure to outlive its boozy inventor Patsy Stone. There are mocktails like the Banana Stand (honoring George Michael Bluth from Arrested Development), coffee-tinged drinks such as the Central Perk (for Friends’ Rachel), and even a rainbow slushie inspired by Pose’s Blanca Evangelista. Along with clever, original illustrations, straightforward recipes, and engaging texts about the shows and characters, the authors cover the mixology basics: bar equipment; types of spirits, liqueurs, juices, and bitters; garnishes and glassware. Whether you prefer appointment television or an hours-long stream-a-thon, this book will up the enjoyment factor. Just remember: sip the cocktail, binge the show.
  8. There's actually some videos on YouTube about this, but none of the ones I've seen have had a cat as passionate about cantaloupe as ours was.
  9. We had a cat that would go absolutely crazy if we were eating cantaloupe. It was like catnip to the cat. It would hug it and roll around on the floor in ecstasy before finally eating it.
  10. Yep, that's come up before. But then again Jardiance is "swell" (maybe they mean Jardiance swells your perineum).
  11. The other thing I noticed is that although Rockford's car was shot up, crashed, blown up, etc., the next week he was still driving it. I guess he had a big body repair budget (probably why he had to live in a trailer).
  12. Yes, a girl in my school, around the same time, had to go home because she came in culottes. Also they would make the girls kneel in the hallway and their skirts had to touch the floor (oh, the optics of that!). Boys had to wear collared shirts. and their hair couldn't be longer than touching the collar.
  13. I did see one TV ad for the movie, which made me aware of it. But that was all the promotion I've seen. I think the theater business is in deep trouble. When a first-run movie is streaming a few weeks after premiering, a large segment of the population will just wait. In the old days, a movie would open in maybe one first-run theater in a town's downtown area. It would play there for weeks, if it was doing well, before moving on the the bigger neighborhood theaters, then it would go even wider.
  14. I recall that in junior high the boys had a spell of Home Ec and the girls got shop, but I have no memory of what we did in Home Ec other than being in that room. I suppose we cooked something.
  15. Being from Chicago, we can no longer get Jack in the Box tacos, but 7/11 makes a good copy. It's interesting how many of the peripheral characters are given foreign cars. Though the thugs usually are driving Ford LTDs or similar big four door sedans.
  16. I'm waiting for the sequel, "Are You There God? It's Me, Sisu."
  17. Well, they are only killing Nazis, so that's okay. :)
  18. I like "Nichols" better than the "Bret Maverick" show, but it's not as good as "Maverick."
  19. Sat. May 20 on GET TV, will be showing the final episode (it actually originally aired out of sequence, which shows how much the network thought of the show) of "Nichols", a Western series from 1971-2 starring James Garner. James Garner, the star of the show, is killed and his twin brother (James Garner with a mustache) comes to town to avenge the killing. They really wanted to kill off this show.
  20. I thought of the money laundering angle (a laundromat is a good business for it), but there still might be some reluctance about being public about their income.
  21. He looks pretty bad in the Smart Water ad. I don't get the appeal of Pete Davidson.
  22. I'm surprised this hasn't been come up yet. It has a sursprising 94% postive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
