  1. Warmup videos from today’s game. Does Yuko look like she a half count behind to anyone else? I’m watching on a small screen on a phone, so I may just be seeing things wrong, but she looked off. It’s just warmups so no biggie, but still.
  2. Yeah, if someone said that Cersten was the best dancer on the team, I wouldn’t argue. I think she’s highly likely to be in the triangle next year if she returns. Even if Kashara and Lacey also return, Jenna will retire and I could see Cersten sliding into her spot.
  3. It’s like the editor of the site, assuming they have on the one, and whoever the person is who picks the pictures to post are in a competition for who is the worst at his/her job. I mean, just when you think that mispelling “stadium” in the title of the article is as bad as it gets, then they turn around and post the worst jumpsplit picture there is lol.
  4. Oh my. Why on earth did they post this picture? Good news for Christina is that she’s not the worst one in the picture. Progress for her! Everyone else - yikes!
  5. That’s the truth lol. Changing a girl’s part from the side to the middle and adding in a little bit of color has basically been the makeovers the last few years. Not that they should be changing a girl’s look just to do it if she already looks good, but the makeover episode has been super boring the last few years.
  6. Yeah, we see a highly edited and controlled view of the team on the show. Beyond that we have Shelly's insights, some social media pages, and insights from various posters who have inside information, yet we have no idea who they are. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with it, as I welcome any info, nor am I saying that anyone is obligated to say who they are; just pointing out that for all we know, Kashara or Jenna could be dating someone's ex and someone could be posting here with an axe to grind. Main point is that I don't think we have a good grasp on the internals of the team. I engage in speculation about what people are like on the team, but at the end of the day, its speculation, nothing more. Likewise, I don't think things are nearly as black and white as they get made out to be sometimes in conversation here, especially regarding leadership. Some people are just natural leaders. Jenn K is someone who seemed to fit that category, but many people are not and just have qualities that appeal to some people and not necessarily to others. Some people are great vocal leaders, some lead by example but don't always have the personality or style to help others, and, some people are excellent at helping others become good at their craft. The attorney who helped me the most when I started was a female senior associate, who wouldn't have been considered a "model employee" in the a conventional sense. She didn't always make her billable hours or follow all the rules, and often times did not tow the company line. However, ask any of the younger female associates who started around the time that I did who took the time to explain things to us, who helped us out, gave us advice, etc. It wold be her, no question. Likewise, I imagine that Jinelle, Kashara, Lacey, and Jenna have all helped girls on the team in different ways, even if they are not perfect, and I think that's ok.
  7. I think it may be Maggie who is related to the Oreo inventer. I would have to go back and watch the episode though.
  8. I'm aware that its Thunderstruck to Christmas music, but I don't think it's a given at all that everyone would look good in it. The team has been lackluster to me all year.
  9. No, it's not confirmed that Jenna had anything to do with Erica getting cut. It's pure speculation. The only story that I've heard is the same one you have regarding the snapchat pic. Here is a video of the Christmas performance for those who haven't seen it. Generally, I think everyone looks good here, but Lacey is awfully bouncy at times during this dance, moreso than everyone else.
  10. When did they start stressing point as a huge leadership position? Honest question, not being sarcastic, because they didn’t seem to care much when Whitney was point after she embarrassed the organization (moreso than anything that Jenna or Holly did. I’m sure many fans think that the cheerleaders date the players anyway and couldn’t care less who they’re sleeping with). It appeared to be about dance ability then, and Whitney was the best dancer IMO and therefore a good point girl. With that said, while I think both Jenna and Lacey are better than Kashara, I don’t think they’re that much better for it to be a huge deal. It’s not like Kashara looks bad or anything up there. As long as the girl can keep up, I don’t think most fans are terribly concerned with point.
  11. Any videos of the plaza performance from the Thanksgiving Day game? Assuming there was a plaza performance that day.
  12. Assuming this is referring to Holly P, I was never a huge Holly fan. She is extremely talented, but her dancing always screamed “look at me, look at me” and not in a good way IMO. I would rather watch Jenna any day over her in DCC choreo. Technical dance is a different matter of course. I would put Holly as a better dancer than Kashara and certainly Jenna and Lacey as better dancers than Kashara as well, but I also would rather watch Kashara than Holly. She’s charismatic in a non-annoying way to me. Ultimately though, I do think Kelli has done a good job of pulling a team together of girls who appeal to different ppl. It’s probably a good thing that we all think different girls are the best.
  13. Interesting. This kind of makes me believe that while school may have been a convenient excuse, she may have just been sick of the bs. It’s just a bit difficult for me to believe that it was all about school. Obviously, I don’t know Milan and every student is different and has different study habits, etc, but outside of retirement (and for those who don’t work), there’s probably not another time in life where you have so much free time as in undergrad. Is Milan even in her upper division courses yet? It just seems like if she’s the type who needs a laser like focus on undergrad courses to get good grades, she would’ve learned that her first season.
  14. Milan left too? Honestly, it seems like something isn’t right internally with the DCCs. The last minute departure from Mandy, two cheerleaders leaving mid-season, the Jenna/Holly/Erica situation..... Life happens, but this is a lot. Yep. I am the queen of typos and i am terrible at proofreading my own writing though I can spot a misplaced comma in a heartbeat in other’s work. Knowing this, I make sure important documents are proofread by someone else before being filed, emailed, etc. Why the DCCs are not having their material reviewed is baffling.
  15. I don't know if it's Kelli or the hairstylists that they use, but someone connected to the DCCs has an obsession with middle parts. I don't get it at all. Honestly, if I were a TCC, that would be a bigger sticking point for me than if they wanted to change my hair color. I cannot stand to have my hair parted down the middle.
  16. I don’t really think that the teams were that much better in the past, if at all. I think in general, it’s easy to look back on things more fondly than you did when it happened. In many of the arts and sports that i follow, people are constantly saying that the sport/art was better in the past than now, and I’m sure people will be saying the same thing in 20 years. So, nostalgia is some of what is at play IMO, but I do think social media has an impact as well. The team has always had standouts, blenders, and girls who you were like, “how did she make the team again.” Now, I think there are some teams that are clearly on the weaker side (this year and season 6 for example), but those downturns have occurred due to either an unusually large number of vets retiring (S6), or a the team losing many of its best dancers (this year). Every team goes through rebuilding phases every once in a while, so no big deal.
  17. I think Jenna thought that she could get away with breaking rules probably because she and other people have gotten away with it in the past. However, I don’t think that Jenna thinks that the team cannot survive without her. If she did, she would’ve pulled a “Holly” and dipped. If anything, she seems to think that she cannot survive without the DCCs, and I think it’s a bit sad. After seeing the way everything was aired and more importantly seeing Kelli’s apparent disdain for her at this point (Kelli doesn’t hide her emotions well), i think most people would be ready to put the team in the rearview mirror, but i wouldn’t be surprised if she wants to be an All Star. Dancewise, I’m all for it but for her sake, i think she needs to go and find something else to do.
  18. So, i assume that Kaitlin from season 8 is not considered alumni? Anyone know what she’s up to now?
  19. Agreed. I don’t think anyone is saying that Cersten is doing nothing of relevance. Obviously, it sounds like she is getting great experience, but words matter. As someone who is not in the medical field, i have found that my friends who are take the titles quite seriously, moreso than some people in many other industries. For example,I have one friend who is a physician’s assistant and another who is in school to become a nurse practitioner. I always get physician’s assistants confused with nurse practitioners, and they are always quick to correct me, not in a snarky way or anything, but they’re clear about what they are doing and what they aren’t. Cersten needs to be more precise. While it’s not the end of the world, these types of things can become ethical issues.
  20. How is that no one noticed that her occupation is listed in 3 different ways on the same page? The DCC website is all sorts of embarrassing. High school kids editing the yearbook do a better job.
  21. Oh, are they using an All Star to fill in for Alexandria? I just assumed that Emma and Jenn were there for Simone and Khalyn. Khalyn’s injury must be quite serious as she wasn’t even dancing on the sidelines with Group 4. I’m assuming that Simone sitting out is more related to the jump split (especially if its a back injury).
  22. Agreed about Jinelle. I’ve been critical of group 2 and have called them the weakest group several times, but i thought Jinelle looked great and that her group looked really good on Sunday. It’s not apples to apples because they’re all doing different dances, but based off of just those dances, I preferred Jinelle to Lacey and Kashara in terms of group leaders. Lacey was far too bouncy IMO for that dance (Robin looked better to me), and while Kashara looked great in the first half but after she made that small error, it almost looked like she was starting to lose it a bit by the end. Group 1 remains the strongest at every level IMO.
  23. Yep, it was her. She didn’t even annoy me that much in the episode, but that comment. .....girl please! She can not be smiley and “lay down the law” because Kitty, nor anyone else, is gonna go to Judy and Kelli and talk about Cassie’s bad attitude. I’m not a ”I’m just so happy to be here,” fake-smiley person either, so I feel her on that, but other girls don’t have the luxury to not put on their happy faces at all times.
  24. Oh did she? I thought she tried out right out of high school. I haven’t watched season 3 in ages though, so I could be way off of the mark.
