Savannah is awful! I’m sure she makes a great ambassador, but her timing is always off.

I wasn’t so much arguing in that post about who should’ve been point. I think there are legitimate arguments that can be made for Kashara, Jenna (even after the suspension), Lacey, and even Robyn to be point. I just think that if Lacey believes that she should’ve been point last year and is salty OR even if she’s not salty, but wants point and doesn’t think she has a good shot at it next year with Kashara returning, then there’s nothing wrong with her leaving. She did her job and finished out her contract for the year. If she wants to move on, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. I just don’t see the negatives in these girls choosing to leave or return for whatever reason they want to. Its their lives and their time. If a girl wants to be able to eat donuts when she wants and chooses to retire, cool! If another girl returns just because she wants to make show group, cool! If another leaves because she thinks she’s gone as far as she can on the team, i just don’t see a problem with any of it.

Why would it be sad? She’s been there for 4 years, which is longer than most people stay. She’s been on show team for multiple years, a group leader, and a second group leader. She had a legit claim to being the best veteran dancer on the team (who didn’t get in trouble) this year, and she was passed over for some of the more prominent positions. If she wants those positions and doesn’t think she’ll get them, what’s wrong with leaving. People leave jobs all of the time when they feel like they’ve passed over for positions that they think they deserved or when they don’t think there’s a chance for any more advancement. And those tend to be legit jobs that pay bills, not the DCCs which pays pennies, while taking up enough time that it’s hard to have a 8-5 job simultaneously. For the record, I’m not saying Lacey feels this way, but if she does, i think it’s fine.

I’m not someone who would have put Kashara at point, but I find it hard to say that anyone else deserves Vet of the Year. She went from not even being on show team to being a group leader, point, pro bowl, and on show team. If that’s not deserving of the award, what is?

I would be fine with someone being point girl for multiple years if that girl was unquestionably the best dancer and performer on team. Kashara is fine and did a good job, but no way would I say she’s the best dancer there. With that said though, I think they should always rotate and I would’ve been cool with Lacey at point this year. However, I don’t think she is heads and shoulders better to the point that it makes sense to essentially demote Kashara. If they didn’t do it with Jacie, who was fabulous, i don’t see it happening here.

And Erica’s twitter page was also up I believe. It also took them several weeks to take down Milan’s page.

If she actually was kicked off, makes me think that this was just the final straw after other infractions or Kelli just wanted her gone for other reasons and used this incident. Being kicked off for oversleeping one appearance (not even a game) seems extreme. If the team knew she was in trouble, may be another reason why they may be keeping their distance publicly. Assuming all of this is true, the year of turmoil for the team seems like it will go down to the very end: 1 vet (Mandy) opted not to return at the 11th hour; 2 vets (Holly and Erica) kicked off or quit in training camp; Most senior vet (Jenna) suspended; 2 vets (Alexandra and Milan) quit during season; rookie vet (Kalyssa) rumored to be suspended or kicked off......

Yeah, i can overlook everything else. I find her level of “extra” to be amusing, and i don’t even *hate* her love for pink lipstick BUT what on earth is with the wig?

i don’t typically put much stock in the team gossip about who is liked or isn’t or in social media posts because who really cares? It’s not high school, but with Jenna and Kalyssa’s birthdays being only days apart, the comparison between how the other teammates acted is a bit jarring. Did anyone acknowledge Kalyssa’s birthday? There were several touching posts about Jenna and all of the girls are cheering on Kashara at pro bowl, but Kalyssa.... I’m not trying to imply anything about Kalyssa’s character. She may just be into her own things. Nothing wrong with that. It’s just odd that her teammates don’t even feel the need to do a generic Happy Birthday post for her.

My goodness, that Pro Bowl choreography is awful! Kashara definitely looks the best, as the DCC rep always does. I wouldn’t necessarily read too much into Maggie being in the triangle. Jenna moved up to point, so it made sense that Maggie would slide up too, since she was already off of Jenna’s left in the formation. Had Lacey moved up, I think Cersten would’ve moved up on the other side. I DO however think Maggie has a good shot at being in the triangle next year, especially if Kashara doesn’t return. Jinelle being in the back corner is more telling to me. I guess that’s as close as she’s ever going to get. Glad to hear that Jenna is moving back to Cali. If ever someone seemed to need a clean break from the DCCs, it’s her.

New performance video that was just posted. ETA: just noticed we posted at the same time lol. Is that Jinelle to Gina’s back left? I’m watching on my phone, so everyone looks small and I cannot tell who is who, but if so, eek...back behind the rookie?!? Actually I think that’s Tasha! I like the shorter hair on Jenna. Long enough, so that she’s still getting bounce, but it’s different.

And that’s Holly’s left kick too! I’m jealous. No matter how hard I tried growing up, I could never get the same flexibility in my left leg as in my right. I find Holly’s showboating as annoying as anyone, but that was tryouts. It’s each girl for herself. Nothing wrong with she or Lacey or anyone else kicking up to their noses IMO.

Mary is one of my faves. Love her. I think Stephanie looks great in that video too,

Are you getting this from the show or from something else? I haven't watched that episode in a while, so it is possible that more was said, but I don't remember anything else being said about Angela other than Shelly saying that she had turned down a lot of appearances. I feel like it speculation to say what appearances other girls were making or that Angela wasn't willing to work something out. She was a 5 year vet and a group leader, so if she hadn't been doing her job or was unwilling to go the extra mile, then K&J probably shouldn't have made her a group leader.

I actually thought it was screwed up that they used her turning down performances in the past as a reason for her not to make show group. I'm sure there were other reasons as well, but that bugged me. Maybe she had a demanding job in the past or was taking classes, so she was turning down appearances then, but its possible that her situation had changed when she tried out her last year. It's like they pretend like they want people who have other things going on in their lives, but then hold it against people who cannot drop everything in their lives for an appearance. It's why I give Milan a bit of a break. On one hand, I find it very hard to believe that she suddenly decided that school was too hard during November(?) of her sophomore year, but on the other, if she just decided that she was sick of pretending like DCC was as important as school to her, I can understand that.

It's interesting because I love Robyn, but I didn't really notice her at all in the routine. Part of it is just that she is in the back, which definitely has an effect. I find Erica and Jenna to be the class of the field in this dance (though my eyes keep wandering to Jax(?) as well), but they're also front and center along with Melissa, who has never wowed me in DCC choreography. She's good, but I would rather watch her do tricks. Jenna is the opposite. I find her solos (clips that I've seen) to be mediocre, but I think she excels in the DCC choreo. That video really just reminded of how much talent the team lost between 2016 to 2017. With that said, I would still like to see Robyn up front if she returns next year.

Agreed. She doesn't look good at all there. The only two who appear to have any spark are Jacie and Kashara (ETA: on rewatch, I think Jinelle looks good here too). It does seem like it's frigid outside, which could have contributed to the lackluster performance (I hate being cold, so I get it), but that's definitely not the DCCs at their best. I've never seen this performance before. Any idea why Jenn K. was not dancing that night?

I think Hannah did look like she had gained a decent amount of weight and was not uniform ready, but Kelli just seemed like she was over her. Her attitude with Veronica was night and day from how she acted with Hannah. It’s just easy to see when Kelli doesn’t care for someone, and that is the vibe I got. It may be because Hannah didn’t appear to play the “this is the most important thing ever in my life,” game or start weeping, and she actually seemed a bit flippant over the whole thing. I get where she was coming from (and she may have not intended to give off that impression), but I’m not sure it played well.

I think you have to take what Kelli says with a grain of salt. Part of the appeal of the DCCs is that they are the cream of crop, so she’s going to make comments to further that image, whether it’s exaggerated or not. She’s a marketer more than anything, and since the DCCs clearly control what is aired, it’s not like she is going to get checked by anyone. Beyond the spin on the show however, I doubt most or any of the girls truly believe that being a DCC is on par with dancing on Broadway, the Rockettes, Cirque de Soleil and certainly not ABT/SF Ballet/NYCB/etc, either in terms of skill or selectivity. I’m sure they’re proud of being a DCC, but I doubt they’re delusional.

If Erica was going to be in the locker room for most of the games, then assuming her injury was as serious as has been implied on here at times, I wonder what was the point of her being on the team anyway? I get not wanting to kick off a vet who has a torn acl for example. That can be rehabbed and chances are good that they can return the next season. However, it sounds like Erica's injury is chronic and unlikely to vastly improve. I wonder if they would’ve taken 37 girls had she stayed. I should note that it’s possible that the injury is not as serious as I’m assuming and that she was expected to be back performing with a reasonable amount of the season left. In that case, i understand keeping her on the team.

I’m curious. If Erica had remained on the team, would she have had to spend every game in the locker room until she was well enough to dance? Where did Khalyn spend the game when she missed a couple due to injury? Just wondering what is standard.

No, i think they, along with Danielle and Kinzie were second group leaders. I believe the group leaders that year were Holly, Angela, Jacie, and Jenn K. FWIW, if that was Paige’s last year, then Danielle was in a leadership position at the time. I think a 2GL is certainly considered a leader on the team. With that said though, i think the “leadership” angle was just convenient to use in the Jenna scenario. I think it was much more about them being out in public, Holly being underage, it being a second offense, and as Txmomof2 said, the other issues surrounding the Cowboys at time, especially that the player who was involved in the fraternization was the same one involved in all of of the other controversies.

Lol! I almost spit out my drink when i read that. True though. Holly looks much older than Jenna. Jenna will probably be showing her Id until she’s about 50. I’m the same way though. I don’t even wait for waitresses to ask for my id when i order a cocktail. I know it’s coming so I just pull it out ahead of time lol.

Why the assumption that Jenna was helping Holly get into clubs or get alcohol? I’m honestly asking, not implying anything. If they were drinking at Jenna’s house, sure, but if Holly was regularly getting into 21 and up clubs, I think the more plausible explanation is that she has/had a fake id (I assume Caila did as well when we were getting gossip that she was hanging out in clubs she was too young to be in). And honestly, if there was someone pulling strings and getting her in these clubs, I would think it would more likely to be the football player than Jenna. Perhaps Jenna has connections like that in all of these clubs, but I kind of doubt it. I admittedly am not super familiar with the Dallas club scene though. Now, she was definitely there with Holly, so I think it’s a distinction without a difference to K&J and certainly in regards to leadership, but legally, there is a difference.
