  1. Their bullet maker is gone but Eugene gave Rick the blueprints
  2. Great ending here!! Finally! Now they need to start building an army! Exciting times ahead...
  3. I don't know about you guys but I'm ready for Rick to start biting out throats again.
  4. I bet the gun didn't fire. Can't say I'm sad to see Spencer gone. He was gutless literally and figuratively.
  5. Oh no! Could we lose two tonight? Something tells me that Spencer is toast.
  6. Negan must have some very loyal subjects in his kingdom. I'm guessing those loyalists are his "A" team, which seemed to be the group that recently collected from Hill Top. They seemed to be a little criminally insane. Otherwise, why would these people put up with him? He has to have some pro-Negan enforcers in his group. So, it seems like this particular storyline is following the comics to a "T". I will say that Negan is everything I wanted The Governor to be, despite the long speeches (which is part of his character anyway) and the campiness of his harem. He terrifies, disgusts and entertains me all at the same time. I like how they are building him up and am excited to see his fall!
  7. My thoughts exactly! I can see the morality lines getting blurred big time -- especially if a newcomer found themselves more drawn to the black hat experience. I thought it was interesting that they had places designated as PG for kids and then the wilder stuff seemed out further beyond town. I wonder if there are any rules as to what kind of activities can take place in each part of Westworld? They kind of made it seem like a free-for-all for the most part.
  8. I really hope that the fact that the stock opened at 6 and then continued to fall isn't going to turn into a situation where Donna is wrong and Cameron was right. I think Cameron is very short-sighted and her "genius" will fade if she doesn't open herself up to change, innovation and ideas from other talent. She lacks maturity and insight. I also think that while Donna made the most sense with her case in wanting to go public, neither Donna or Cam really looked at the big picture. It was 1986 and though the market had started to awaken to the idea of being online with video games -- it was still very much in an embryonic stage. Still too young to have something like the idea of online shopping take off in a serious way. Donna's interview definitely didn't help as that stupid reporter managed to trivialize the whole thing. I liked Ryan initially. He reminded me of a Joe, Gordon and Cam hybrid. I had hoped that he would be the catalyst to bring them all back together as the newest genius. Though, i'm not surprised that his storyline ended the way it did. I felt like they had been teasing a "jump from the balcony" moment all season anyway. This is the first season that I actually like Gordon. Bos' talents are being wasted.
  9. Mr. Scarlett and I just finished watching the first episode. I was drawn in from the very first scene to the last! I am definitely all in for this season. Great premise, great cast, good storytelling so far! I also wonder, how can you distinguish the newcomers from the hosts? Aside from hosts not being able to shoot / kill humans and humans being able to shoot / kill hosts. Couldn't humans get a little too caught up in the game and start going after other humans?
  10. My impression of Madison is that she is stoic because she's had a hard-ish life. She's not overly emotional and kind of keeps a wall up. With that said, unfortunately, I don't think the actress does this characterization very well. It kind of comes across as always looking "pained" (or always smelling something rotten). The tough southern gal has always been one of my favorite characterizations and I can think of other actresses on other shows who have done this better. I digress. I was excited about the reunion between Maddy and Travis initially because they sort of presented him as the "prodigal husband returns", but when they started to speak, I had forgotten how much I hate them as a couple. I like Maddy best without Travis. I like Travis best without Maddy. Can they get a divorce in a ZA? As a parent, I get both Maddy and Travis's realizations / ruminations over their children. Travis blames himself for Chris's psychotic turn and Maddy regrets how she handled the situation when her husband committed suicide. She had good intentions when she told Alycia and I think she wanted her to understand that she always loved Alycia just as much as Travis but feared that Travis would end up like his dad in the end. He was the child she had to save, whereas Alycia was "okay". At least in Maddy's eyes. I can relate to Alycia's relationship with her mom. Chris is not my favorite character but his story arc is one of the most interesting arcs at this point. I really hope that they take him to super-villain status and that he becomes a very dangerous leader of a large group. I will be pissed if the douche bros kill him off because that would be another missed opportunity for the writers. Speaking of... I get that the writers are trying to establish this show in its own right by not repeating any storylines as seen on the original, but I think they are doing a huge disservice to their fan-base because they are removing everything (aka the zombies) that made us tune into this show in the first place. I don't get any feeling that there is a sense of urgency for these people to fight to survive at this point. There have been no zombie hoards to get through and no one is even really scared of these things, which takes all the fun out. Still, I will watch this show to the bitter end. If for no other reason than cross-over potential.
  11. Another enjoyable episode, I think. I like that Maddy is stepping up as a leader and that Alicia is as well! I also like the hotel group and hope that they stay with us for this journey. Brenda Strong (not sure what her character's name is) is a really good actress. I'm hoping that she is able to come out of her despair and join the living. Not that she hasn't earned her despair. Also, I feel like there is more backstory with her as she kind of had an air about her like she worked for the government or something related. The character of Strand continues to show awesome growth! I felt for the brokenhearted groom and the mother of the bride. That was definitely the wedding day from hell. Maddy wants to make a new home and Strand feels like he's lost his home, and so he drifts. That is an interesting dynamic but I hope that doesn't mean that Strand will leave and journey off on his own. At this point, I still feel like we are too early in the show to have different characters wander off onto their own storyline. We need to care about them first and get a feel for what each character brings to the group. Speaking of characters and their own storylines -- Nick's story was kind of boring this week. I think it's crap that he and Luciana hooked up so soon. Are they the "couple to root for" on this show now? I want to like Nick and I do -- mostly. The addict in him makes him less than trustworthy and some of his decisions have been proven to be selfish and nonsensical. Hoping for more Travis and Chris in next week's episode. I like the thought that Chris might one day be a "big bad" that the group will have to fight. On that note... never thought i'd look forward to seeing an episode with more Travis and Chris... Wherefore art thou' Ophelia? No one has mentioned her in this episode... at least not that I can recall.
  12. I'm so sad that we are losing Will! :( I'm very Meh on losing Layla though.
  13. I don't know that Michael will die. I am speculating that he will have amnesia. Otherwise, why introduce another love for Jane? http://www.ibtimes.com/jane-virgin-season-3-spoilers-janes-old-childhood-crush-be-introduced-2403966 I'm not going to lie... the introduction of this character feels weird. Do we really NEED another love for Jane? I mean, my goodness... Rafael is already just waiting in the wings!
  14. What a great season overall! I binged on Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix over the summer. This is such a great show! I love all of the characters, minus Magda. A couple of thoughts on the season 2 finale: - I knew that the overall sentimental tones of the episode would mean big trouble by the end. They've been teasing us with Michael's impending doom since Season 1. Although, I really don't think he's going to die. The gun shot him in the chest but above the heart. More than likely, punctured a lung (dangerous but he could live). - Rogelio and Xo neeed to be together! The scene outside of the wedding near the end where they both admit that they still want to be together while acknowledging that nothing has changed, completely broke my heart! Also, are we really sure that the baby is Esteban's? I seem to remember a post-breakup hookup between Xo and Rogelio late into the season before Dina. - Abuela's confession of her real wedding story was funny but also sad. No wonder she slut-shamed Xiomara all those years. It's what she grew up with. - I'm really impressed with Petra's character growth. They could have made her into a classic villain but she's really not. More or less, she grew up with a terrible mother and doesn't feel like she deserves to be loved. She tries her absolute best with Rafael, the babies, and Jane. I believe deep down, she's a great person. I love that Jane thinks of Petra as family. In fact, I love their growing bond! I am rooting for Petra to get her happily ever after at the end of all of this. - Not gonna lie, I knew Susanna was going to biff answering "Roll" when Michael said the phrase to her. I did not however, expect Susanna to be Sin Rostro! Poor Luisa! - Rafael's almost confession of love to Jane also broke my heart. Even though there is a lot of love between Michael and Jane (and they seem like the perfect fit), I still root for Rafael. I think he and Jane would have a great happily ever after. I think she would have passion with Raf. I kind of ship both pairings, actually. I am excited for Season 3! Bring it on!
  15. I agree! I had hoped they would have showed the beginnings of this at the CDC level. Ideally, I think we should have had one season where this was discovered and then all hell breaks loose. We don't have an answer yet as to whether or not this was this predicted or just a complete freak of nature surprise.
  16. I actually enjoyed this episode. Much better than last week's! I am starting to see character and story growth (though still a ways to go). Things of note: - Luciana is infinitely interesting at this point. You can tell she has a story to tell. A great love most likely .... alive or dead - too soon to tell. She's a badass through and through though and that is what our main group in the show desperately needs at this point. - I like Nick best when he's being a selfless, clever fox. I like how he scopes things out before reacting. You can tell that he's not quite sure what to make of this new community he finds himself in. However, when he and Luciana went "shopping at Drug Lord's" -- he seemed alert and smart enough to know how to play the game. Though it *seemed* like an act of impulsiveness, I have a feeling the whole "steal the cake" move was more calculated than impulsive. Especially, given this was once his world. - Obviously, I love Strand. He's a survivor. He's a charmer of people. He makes others around him instantly more interesting. I like his bond with Madison. I like that they got drunk together in the middle of ZA when they were feeling "safe". I like that he started to play the out-of-tune piano and that zombies were dropping everywhere to get to the noise. The first body drop was freaky, actually. - I think this drunk / piano / zombie-dropping plot was essential for two reasons: 1) It showed the characters how naive they have been to what is actually happening in the world now. 2) It gave them more insight into the zombie mind (so to speak). So now they know that loud noise is a zombie-attractor. 3) it put them in a situation where they have to fight to survive -- not just drift from place to place as they had been. - I like Maddy much more this episode. We were able to get a better sense for her character. Husband drives truck straight into traffic and commits suicide? No wonder she's been fairly stoic up to this point. Life has not been kind. Doesn't surprise me that her southern accent came out when she was drunk. I like her bond with Strand. - I genuinely liked Ofelia before this episode but with her defeatist attitude so early in the game... I just dunno. Right now, we need people who want to survive. Like Alycia for instance, who just sort of adopted Enid's "JSS". If we wanted to see a depressed couch fart we'd watch Travis... Speaking of ... I did not miss either Travis or Chris this episode and i'm kind of bummed that they are going to be part of the focus of this Sunday's episode (per the preview). Here's to hoping they are zombie chow soon! ETA: Not digging the apocalypse preacher or that portion of the current storyline but definitely want to know what's going on with his shoulder! Zombie bite or self-inflicted so that people think he is the next savior?!
  17. So, I guess this episode gave us more insight into Nick as a character. Funny thing is... we kinda already knew these things about him. They didn't show us anything new. Did they retcon his father's death? I thought he was playing board games in the living room and that his dad's death was what pushed him to spiral into drugs? Or maybe that was a different show. When the zombies tore the dogs apart and Nick smiled ... it creeped me out a little. It was almost like he was thinking that the zombies saved him. I don't really like this "zombies are people too" story arc that they are forcing on us. When they showed Lizzie having those same thoughts on TWD, they painted a picture that she was... well.. crazy. So are we to assume that Nick is crazy too? I want him to snap out of it. My hope for Nick is that despite his addiction, he will be able to emerge onto this new world as a bad-ass survivor and leader. He's sort of an odd duck. He has these moments of selflessness where he is going out into the wild to find people, food, resources, etc. Those are the moments where he seems to care very deeply about his mother, sister and the group. Then, there's the other side of him that is completely irrational, impulsive and selfish. He's quietly extreme. If they showed him to be "sensitive" to the zombies because his dad and girlfriend died... they are missing the mark with me. Everyone knows someone who has died. Everyone has experienced death at some point in their life. That doesn't mean there's an automatic connection to the dead. If anything, there is more to fear about death in this new ZA world-- knowing that there is a possibility that you won't be at rest when you die. They split the group up too early, imo. They should have given us at least a 2nd season with all of the characters together so that we could get a good idea of the group dynamics and also to help us develop some kind of attachment. The mid-season finale was decent but boy am I missing Daniel and Strand. I feel that this Nick-centered episode didn't quite live up to expectations. Oh well... at least Luciana (hope that's her name) and the pharmacist / doctor dude seemed interesting.
  18. It sort of took me out of the ZA because it was such a normal teen thing to do. I keep having to remind myself that the ZA has only just begun.
  19. I thought it was much netter than last week. Even though Chris didnt talk much, i actually found his interaction with survivalist teen to be enjoyable. Hopefully, he is starting to "get it" and hacking at zombies through the fence wasn't a display of acting out. Didn't see the family suicide coming but should have. George was way too calm and all "well, everyone dies..." I like watching these main characters interact with people other than their own group members. It makes them more enjoyable. Daniel has Strand's number and vice versa.
