News reports from South Carolina suggest that the Ravenel campaign is really struggling with their poll numbers. The number being bandied about now is an ice cold 8%. At an advertised event at his plantation several weeks ago, newspaper reports indicated that the turnout was poor, with about 50 supporters in attendance. Whether this number included the Bravo crew, including the production staff, it didn't say, but it did say that several cast members were there and that it was being filmed. To top it off, Thomas and his confidant/henchman Will Folks are on the outs. Folks apparently reported Thomas to the police for harassment last week but the issue was resolved without charges being filed.

White eyeliner. White. Eyeliner. WHITE EYELINER. Simply the best thing to happen to RHONJ. I don't know who or what is "helping " the ladies with their makeup this season, but I will never not admire the subtle and elegant aging Vegas showgirl/human anime look that our girls, especially Amber, are sporting.

What I liked about the hunting trip was that it didn't feel as contrived or staged as most Bravo reality trips. I am almost positive that there was some staging and producer-prompting - Bravo isn't known for it light touch, after all - but the hunting trip felt natural and organic, even if it really wasn't. I have a feeling that Shep's cousin, who lead the boar hunt, wouldn't much take to being directed or produced. Now that's some lost footage I'd like to see.

I like Jill (said in a tiny voice, face red with shame) and I really like her new haircut. I really loved this show the first two seasons, before it devolved into the shrieking mess it is today. I loved the less staged feel it had then. The scene from season one where Simon and Alex had taken their two pretentiously named kids out to lunch and Simon insisted that the boys order in French KILLS me and sends me to heaven. I can hear Simon now, "Lemon Odd, see voo play?" Such happy memories.

I found Kathryn to be a sullen, spoiled dullard the entire season. The reunion did little to change my opinion of her. I do wish Patricia had been able to film the reunion. Although I think she would be a terrifying snob in real life, I love her on this show. I can take or leave Thomas, but if he promises to talk more about the Beverage Cart Girl in front of Kathryn, then Whitney needs to move Heaven and Earth to sign him up for season two. I started watching this show purely to hate- watch but ended up genuinely liking it. Cameran, Shep, Craig, and Jenna seem to really like each other and that really came across in the reunion. I'm hoping for a second season.

So glad to see little ol' Southern Charm here. Fingers crossed that Whitney will get a visit from Tara's Wig Cop soon.
