Because it's never been about the victims for Benson, it's about revenge on the rapist father she never knew. If he was alive she'd probably end up banging him. It doesn't take Freud to work it out, she was a child of rape herself?

I think maybe it was all the tragedy he experienced? Delicious? The Sipowiscz effect again. He certainly had his admirers on Gotham.

1. Nice mislead, we think it's Mary in the alley being followed by the creep but it's just random high heels damsel girl. Still pretty shocking when he comes up with the .357, the Batsuit must really be something to laugh that off. I guess it's to show Kate's reluctance to kill? 2. I like the door scene between Kate and Jacob, they really come across as father and daughter. But was giving him alcohol really such a good idea? Even without booze if I was Jacob I'd want to beat Cartwright to death with my bear hands (even BEFORE the final revelation!). Although he makes a lot of sense, what exactly would they tell the GCPD? What can they prove him guilty off? 3. Luke and Mary make a great team, I could watch them carry an episode by themselves. Love Mary searching for the key to the Batcave. 4. Mommy Dearest is a MONSTER! No wonder Cartwright and Mouse are so screwed up. She rather reminds me of Jack Donnelly's mother from 30 Rock. Your heart just bleeds for Beth as a child and Alice as an adult. Who else cheered when she burned? 5. So now we know why Alice always wears her gloves, makes me shudder. It's interesting that she actually wants to spare Jacob the gruesome details, maybe the fear toxin has begun her redemption? 6. Does Kate not have better restraints? I guess she can't use any of her Bat gear if Jacob's around? 7. "But you have to let me go" "No, here's a different idea, I break all your fingers and stamp on them until you tell me where my daughter is" 8. "Sorry, Dr/vigilante confidentiality" may be my favourite line of the series. 9. Nice Jonathon Crane ref, be awesome to see a flashback of him and Cartwright together. 10. When Jacob takes Alice in his arms and she sobs "Daddy" I genuinely teared up. 11. It's only rewatching that I appreciate the significance of the whole 'milky white skin' remark, it wasn't a compliment. 12. The whole concept rather reminds of the whole 'Killing Joke' idea, that all it takes is one bad day to drive a person homicidal. No Sophie or Crows this week or Wonderland Gang (what do they do exactly when not helping Alice? Will they be loyal to Mouse or Alice?). I wouldn't bury Cartwright, he's a John Doe, dump him in the Gotham River and even if he washes up in the Narrows the GCPD will probably right him off as a suicide. 9/10 best ep of the series so far

Now, did we ever find out which Buffygirls?

The pearls are iconic, they're why Thomas resisted the mugging,

1. Interesting little scene where Sophie goes to Cartwright for help in the investigation and he is fully co-operative, you keep expecting him to be resistant but actually he's happy to help, much as he was happy to help Jacob be released. He only seems to be evil when it comes to mouse? 2. So, the Crows have their secrets too? I wonder is this genuine corruption or noble cause corruption? And if there was more to Lucius' murder than it seemed wouldn't Batman have figured it out? 3. I hope Alice didn't kill the shrink, it would be nice if she kept him around to help her work through her feelings. 4. Boy, they're not skipping on the blood and gore, are they? 5. So the villainesses uncle is (and note the 'is') beloved ADA Harvey Dent. But we don't know who her father is? Could it be Dent and inbreeding is behind her mental illness? In this continuity could it be she who throws the acid? 6. Boy, check out Alice's fishnets, the character has become hypersexualised in popular culture in recent years; https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=WgPIzJnY&id=3DDAC82418F4CD8C6ADAEA9DA94658C63C0FA0F6&thid=OIP.WgPIzJnYpFYBMOVgzydjCAHaLO&mediaurl=https%3a%2f%2fi.pinimg.com%2f736x%2f98%2faf%2ffb%2f98affb9f41983a18ce9e29f994059505--fairytale-fantasies-sexy-cartoons.jpg&exph=1116&expw=736&q=sexy+alice+in+wonderland&simid=608050889463826553&ck=FCB0D3B77C81D4B457073AADB85BA964&selectedIndex=32&ajaxhist=0 But this series has been the exception, maybe that's changing. 7. Speaking of which, check out Sophie in her top? Her scene with her mother is depressing but I like her coffee with Mary. But come on, you've got to know Batwoman is Kate! 8. So what does Alice need those medical supplies for? To torture Cartwright? 9. Some nice little Luke/Kate moments, the murder of Lucius being reinvestigated may bring him to the fore. 10. Come on Kate, let Mary in! You both know you want it. 11. Some nice little Joker origin vibes with the victim above the vat of chemicals, shame they didn't think to put a red hood on her outfit. But was anyone else yelling "Swing you dumbo, swing!" 12. So the doc is doping up his son with the Scarecrow's fear toxin? This can't have anything to do with Alice as he thought she was dead, was he going to use this to control him? 8/10

The Batverse always had a more gothic, horror orientated vibe than the rest of the DC verse. Exactly what I thought? The possibilities are intriguing. Sort of pointless when you have bright red hair?
-
So had Barbara Keen but she was still redeemed in the end (presumably Jim cut a deal with Harvey Dent and got her a pardon in return for her testimony?) Maybe a straw boater too?
-
Yeah but if you screened out every crime that happens in real life and upsets people you'd have no crime shows. But intriguing, you also note Jim Gordon isn't head of the GCPD?
-
Really? He wasn't Harry Hamlin. They seem to be reducing her role, it depends if you like Rachel Maddow as a broadcaster I presume? In the UK they've moved the show to 1020 lately. Maybe J Crane has some sort of franchise?

I never considered that although I'm not up on the multiverse, do those other earths still exist?

Hey, where would Luke Skywalker be if he'd cut down Darth Vader when he had the chance?

Yet what if she's actually enabling the addiction.

1. Nocturna, another canon minor villain from the comics. She's pretty good although where did she learn to fight so well? 2. Boy, isn't Alice clever, talking the villain out of killing her and then working out it's Mouse's dad? 3. She saves Mary? She doesn't have to, could this be the beginning of her redemption arc? 4. Like the club, seems a fun place, the interactions between Sophie, Kate and Mary are great. 5. I take it the girl putting the moves on Sophie can't be a vet if she's a hemaphobe? But they just said she works in that field. I actually thought she was Nocturna and she was actually getting excited by her blood fetishism and pretending to be nauseous to cover? 6. Gotham Cathedral, just like in the 89 Batman movie. 7. How come Jacob is out? Did they run tests on Mouse and reveal his abilities? Or just establish he was out of town so there must have been a double. 8. We are going to have a funeral for Beth right? 9. Nice shout out to Youtube reactors (I watch Legends of Podcasting, Britsmash and Fandomreactions myself). 10. Looks like Luke is straight, I did wonder. 11. Mary figures it out, about time. If I was her I'd be mad they didn't tell her sooner. 12. Surely Sophie must know now too? 7/10

I never saw it as that although I always thought Adam Baldwin's character in Angel did represent the corporate suits (I wonder if they ever caught onto this and that's why they were cancelled?)

How would you handle the replacement of Ruby Rose? It really all boils down to if RR is prepared to come back to the show to do a handover ep. 1. If she is then Batwoman is crippled in an explosion which pitches her into the Gotham River. She is fished out by the new potential Batwoman whom she takes into her confidence and returns her to the Batcave. The new Batwoman is forced to don the suit to take on the villain du jour whilst Mary packs Kate off to an experimental clinic to try to rehabilitate her spine (leaving it open for her to return). 2. If she doesn't want to do a handover episode then the same scenario except that the new Batwoman strips the body of the Batsuit and then seeks out Luke at the funeral (presenting each of the mourners with the voice modulator from the Batsuit, everyone else looking baffled but Luke obviously recognising it). She convinces him to let her take over and continue Kate's legacy. 3. We start with Kate's funeral and a series of flashbacks where a dying Batwoman stumbles back into the Batcave and Luke and Mary fight and fail to save her. When a series of Batwoman copycats take to the streets and one is killed Luke realises that someone will always seek to fill the role and that he must pick a successor to Kate and put Bruce Wayne's resources behind her in order to give her a fighting chance. And you won't believe who one of the fake Batwomen actually is.... 4. Kate is affected by a villain's mind altering poison (multiple possibilities as to whom?) and ends up in Arkham where no one pays any attention to her ravings about being Batwoman. Luke sets a series of tests for potential candidates to replace her. 5. Kate goes off the deep end and actually starts killing the criminals, Mary and Luke teaming up to have her arrested and placed in Blackgate. She sends a letter to a friend of hers she encountered on her travels asking her to come to Gotham and take her role.

1. Boy these poor Crow troopers really are the redshirts of the Bat universe, if they're not being killed off by Alice and co they're having their clocks cleaned by Batwoman. 2. Go Mary, go Mary, smash her head in, go Mary... 3. Have to say the special effects with Beth/Alice in the same shot are excellent. 4. Actually cheered when the hallucination of Catherine came to taunt Alice. 5. Equally Mary telling Alice to go stick it over the antidote was an excellent moment. 6. Nice little tension moment too, will Sophie notice Martha's swinging pearls? 7. Where does Kate get off telling Sophie off about the manhunt after all Alice has done? 8. So Mary's blood is now a magical cure all for all ills? The scenes where they try to save Beth rather remind me of the Illyria/Fred storyline from Angel. 9. What happened to Luke's taser? Why does not one try to subdue Alice when she appears? 10. Also pretty handy that Luke knows how to ride a bike? 11. Mary tells Kate how it is, personally I wouldn't even have bothered, just tell her to take me to Beth and save her. 12. Wasn't shocked by the ending but glad Sophie didn't shoot her. 8/10 best ep yet.
-
I would imagine it's widely advertised as part of the manhunt?
-
Yeah, a few more from the rogues gallery would be appreciated. Obviously I doubt we'll get any of the big names but Crazy Quilt, Kite Man, etc would be welcome. The Crows were tacking them using their tech and the Kitty killer had stolen a Crow radio off the guard at the hospital.
-
He had a radio that he took off the Crow at the hospital and was following their reports. True but he does love Alice and he doesn't hurt kitties.

Batwoman in the Media: Send the Bat Signal
Joe Hellandback replied to scarynikki12's topic in Batwoman
Is it definitely confirmed that they're going to kill Kate?
