  1. I think that’s right. He fooled himself into thinking he could stay in the North with Brienne and let others fight but then he realized life wasn’t going to be that kind. He loathes himself and he’s doing a Theon.
  2. All the Stark children want to be free — Jon longs to be above the wall with the wildings, Bran already found it by being subsumed by the 3ER, Arya is going to wander the earth if she survives her list, and Sansa wants to sever the North from the rest of the kingdom.
  3. Yes exactly — Sansa’s part of the problem as Tyrion points out.
  4. I suspect this will be an unpopular opinion... it I thought it played better than the spoilers read. I think it’s bc the actors are selling the heck out of it. EC, KH, and ST really sold me on the Shakespearean tragedy of it. Jon (ironically, the child most like Ned Stark) is too naive about the political situation and too bothered by the blood relationship to lie. Dany and Sansa understand the politics but can’t let go of even a little bit of their ambition to avoid the conflict. It’s rushed and I don’t love the optics of two Lady MacBeths dueling amongst craven and hapless men. It could have been much better.
  5. What I took from it was that Jaime loathes himself and he’s going back to fight Cersei which he believes will cost him his life. He’s basically doing a Theon.
  6. what if Qyburn knows how to create another NK? He has some secret plan according to these spoilers.
  7. This is also how we know Jaime isn’t leaving Brienne to rejoin Cersei, he’s leaving to infiltrate KL and betray her (and likely die in the attempt).
  8. Maybe Qyburn turns Dany into a NQ and that’s why Jon has to kill her. It’s either that or a NQ under Q’s control rules the 7 Kingdoms. This is the only way I can make these spoilers work in a way that is bittersweet not bitter. I am going to go down with this ship.
  9. He’s studied a dead wight and he’s created the Mountain. I think he’s going all CotF to become/create the next NK. It would tie into Jon’s fate to rebuild the NW.
  10. Well they’d both be wights in the NK’s army for their meet cute
  11. Yes it’s to ramp up the tragedy for both of them. The game of thrones makes love impossible for anyone who plays.
  12. my understanding is that there isn’t anything in the leaked footage that confirms a Jaime betrayal or involvement in M’s execution
  13. It does look likes she’s ambushed. OAS, the leaks seem to indicate that Bran may be sharing the NK/wights aren’t just ‘gone.’ I’m putting that together with the Qyburn info about having his own game and thinking that he is going to do a CotF and beget the next NK so that the battle always continues. But that’s my wild and crazy spec.
  14. maybe Qyburn has figured out how to home brew white walkers and/or wights.
  15. This is the ultimate rocks fall everyone dies. These spoilers are falling like bird poop from the skies. I can actually see Cersei having Missandei beheaded and that driving Grey Worm nuts. I can see Jon surviving and going to live with whatever wildings are left. I can see both dragons dead. I can see Tyrion turning coat either to support Sansa or Lannister heirs. Other than that...these feel like crap. ETA: I wonder if D&D altered the characters from their book versions so much that trying to get to GRRM’s ending is going to require some whiplash.
  16. Gotta be honest I thought Drogon was giving Jon a really suspicious look in 8.01. I don’t think he trusts him with ‘mom’. OAS Bran is a religious figure within the context of this world and won’t be ruling or overseeing anything political at the end.
  17. The only realistic way I can see Jon killing Dani is if it’s a mercy killing — she’s poisoned so he eases her suffering or Qyburn does something freaky to her.
  18. I think Tyrion’s betrayal could make sense if Bronn (or someone else) succeeds in killing Jaime and Tyrion goes nuts trying to protect Cersei’s unborn child. The Sansa moment might be there to both hiny at ‘divided loyalties’ plus ramp up some angst. I really think Jaime could die in the next ep.
  19. I doubt Jaime still loves Cersei (he clearly loves Brienne) but I have no doubt he loves the baby.
  20. I feel like I’m about to go all Julia Sugarbaker here. Suffice it to say that it’s never the fictional guys who go bonkers it’s always the woman for some totally unknown reason....
  21. Yep they were all fighting a losing battle at that point and I think they all knew it. Very LotR until the moment when Arya managed to kill the NK. I thought the moment was pretty darned romantic though. Two people facing death together.
  22. I really don’t get all the TV!Sansa dislike. She’s endured unspeakable trauma and survived it, developing her political intelligence along the way and learning how to rule — not fight but rule. Arya sent her to the crypts and she went so that someone from their family might survive. And despite not having trained to be a fighter when the fight actually came to her she stepped out to meet it.
