The lighter side: Henry: "This is the third time we've played Risk, and you win every time! How do you do that?" KGB sitter: "Bwahahahaha".

Sorry. I got the names off. Josef Mengele was the father, Rolf was the son.
-
In fact, Josef Mengele not only knew of his father Adolf's existence, he openly welcomed him, albeit under an alias, back to Germany several times in the decades after WWII. Blood can be much thicker than water. If they kill Pastor Tim, won't they also have to kill the Mrs. Pastor? She could have knowledge also. And that sets an entirely new path down to chaos.
-
Confession generally relates to personal sins/shortcomings that one wishes to admit to in order to attain some absolution. Telling the pastor about the wrongdoings of someone else wouldn't really fall under the umbrella of confessional confidence, and, even so, at least in the Catholic religion, priests are not always strictly bound by those confessionals when a serious crime has been committed.

I rather wonder what Philip and, to a lesser extent, Elizabeth, think of the reasons behind the Russian presence in Afghanistan. Sooner or later the revelations of their conduct will be publicized, and Philip will have to confront his reasoning of "My people are dying over there". Elizabeth not so much, because she is the epitome of the true believer in her (rapidly diminishing) cause. Was the killing of the IT guy sanctioned, or was it independent action? That scene at the beginning of the episode carries a lot of weight, now.

He could easily amuse himself by setting up a transfer of, say, $600,000 from a "Nigerian Oil Crimes Escrow Account", thereby causing thousands of people to smack themselves in the forehead, saying "I KNEW it was real."

Nice speech, Chef PeterMills. Try and remember it when you go into Personnel and they tell you that, because you only have three years in, you aren't vested in the pension system and so you will be receiving the refund of your contributions. Which, by the way, if they were pre-tax, will result in a hefty tax penalty next April. But it must be worth it to go all the way to NC and start up a restaurant and work 80 hours a week with your family. I was as surprised as anyone at the explanation of the lamppost victim. I could of sworn that he had been street surfing behind a tow car, and he hit a snowpile mogul and flew up into the lamppost, BAM! Seems just as logical. And he's a tough guy too. He wasn't saying Bandan, he was saying Band-Aid. Don't forget to design in those hidden compartments and passageways, Casey.

Apparently JoePoe paid attention to Dr. Lector. One of his best students, no doubt. All hail Theo! He can even hack into the EPT box and rock Gwen's world. I will give him another star if he can hack into the writers' room. Job listing: Security Guard. MUST be able to properly assess dangerous situations and take appropriate actions, which usually don't include standing behind a knife wielding burglar until he turns around on you.

I don't know why you all are crying about the crossovers. At least Molly's stands to make some real money from someone else besides its owners.

I made the comment about Ava moving to Lebec, as I live near there and found it somehow equivalent to Wynn moving to Fiji, or something like that. Actually, the series was filmed up in the hills NE of Santa Clarita, with the town of Green Valley standing in for Harlan, according to Wikipedia. The duel was filmed along Bouquet Canyon Reservoir, if you have Google Earth/Maps. Random thought: Maybe Wynn got the $9 million, but Loretta got a brand new 4x4 truck. Now that's what matters in Harlan.

For me, that is the problem with the entire show. It has gone from "Wow, did that just happen?" to "Okay, game over for him/her. Oh well. Delete. What's next on the DVR list?" Where various high level recognizable government operatives meet and discuss plots out in the open in parks and The Mall, and no one pays the least bit of attention to them.

"Wynn Duffy: The RV Chronicles"

Tyrant and Ripper Street are coming back, sometime around June, I think.

Dear Show: Spielberg called. He wants his Indiana Jones plot back. Bruce Willis called. He wants his Fifth Element plot back. John Le Carre called. He's not positive, but he's pretty sure one of his plots are on loan too. And Tom Cruise called. He said "Go ahead, what the hell. After 'Going Clear', it won't make any difference anyway." The thing about prophecy, from the religious zealots' viewpoint, is that it is supposed to happen when it does. Preventing it or encouraging it is an exercise in futility. Do they think that God is sitting around, waiting for them to get their marbles in the right slots so that he can move on to the next chapter? Logically, this entire scheme makes no sense whatsoever. But that's just me. I'd probably shrug, andbe first in line to get some sirloin steaks from that red heifer and call it good for the day.

Everybody thinks Wynn made it out with the money, but ain't nobody seen nor heard from Bob.

Ava moves to Lebec, of all places? Well, at least it's not Gorman or Neenach. I'll never look at pumpkins the same way again. Down On All Fours Grooming. So Wynn Duffy. Forgive me, but the first thing that went through my mind when Art pulled out that bottle was Apple Pie. And so it ends, with "We dug coal together". ETA: Oh, and that CO at the federal pen sure looked like Arlo for a flash.

Don't laugh. That's Joe's next escape route. He's going to hide above the cyclone fence gateway and wait for the unsuspecting guard to walk in, completely befuddled by the fact that Joe is suddenly missing.

Or, on occasion, "Do as I say, don't do who I do."

That's exactly what I was thinking when she met Peter at the end. I could just see him in his office, head to head with party honchos, maybe even suggesting it himself. I'll have to hand it to the Kings; they managed to make Alicia look gold again, if only for a moment. And not from her own actions but from everyone else around her managing to corner the sleaze market. So, If Alicia does in fact pack it in, she should bury everyone else in the process. The state congressman, the party officials, the party lawyer. Everyone. As they might say a bit farther south, "Fuck all y'all." And then place a call to Harvey Spector and Louis Litt.

I wonder if the writers/producers knew that there is an actual company called Mannatech, making vitamins, health food, and such in an Amway-style pyramid business. model.

With respect to the military officer in the Situation Room, keep in mind that the sub was within the 12 mile territorial limit, if I recall correctly. That would most certainly merit a forceful response, as was done recently in Sweden for the same reason (depth charges at an unknown submarine). Beyond that, it was a rather incomprehensible set of solutions by the end. What's to keep the Russian crewmembers from contacting their families on their own? And, eventually (think USS Liberty 1967), some stories will leak out about how the destroyer was attacked, rather than being in a collision. Well, anyway, the world was once again saved by Lt. Col. Dr. Arm Candy, Minister at Large and Without Portfolio, scourge of innocent snow grouse worldwide. Looks like a lot of countries aren't going to get their microloans now. "We don't go to war on a mistake!" Ummmm......

Well, damn, Chicago Med. Promoing your new show is not an excuse to blow up the whole dang ER. It sure is lucky that Severide was the onliest severe injury in the building, as pre-med PeterMIlls obviously knows more than the doctors about which patient needs the most attention. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the fact that two of the people in the OR without sterile gear negate the sterile gear on the third? Why was the psychiatrist "taking a nap"? Plot point for future episodes of CM? Also, thank God the terrorist didn't have ANY OTHER INFECTIOUS DISEASES in him, as everyone bailed out of the hospital with their blood spattered clothes as soon as the door was open. Props to the actress extra who ran up to her car at the outset and skidded right up to the door without falling down. Must be a Chicago native. Whatever happened to Casey's side job? Laura German: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in..."

I was really hoping that Boon would check out when he got close to Loretta, courtesy of a hidden knife, but obviously there are other plans for him. I hope the rest of Loretta's crew is more adept than the recently departed bodyguard. Markham could easily persuade/intimidate the lesser of them into working for him anyway. And then she will become rapidly irrelevant. Zachariah, even though you were stupid, you were honorable in the end. Always let the enemy come to you. At least Boyd didn't have to deal with various bits and bodily fluids this time. Those weren't the crooked cops that popped Raylan at the end, were they? Random inconsequential thought: The last episode comes too late for March Madness, but I almost feel like we should have started a thread at the beginning of the season with brackets for all the gunfights. Boyd v. Dewey --Boyd. Rayland v ChooChoo -- Raylan, and so on.

Fulcrum Scene: Red: "What's wrong?" Liz: "I just spent the last 42 hours dealing with a man who is a lifelong habitual pathological liar." Red: "Tom." Liz: "No, you idiot. My agent. The guy who got me into this. I am so done with him for the next three weeks."
