I suspect this is her, but it's hard to tell. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWWWDm9_80I&ab_channel=DonW

I didn't notice that, thanks. Her kicks were great.

Watch Kaydianna teach and perform this year's TCU showgirl audition material (fight song and jazz combination). https://gofrogs.com/watch/?Archive=3944&type=Live
The video is approx. 15 minutes. Kaydianna is in the intro, then another girl teaches the kick combo, then Kaydianna comes back at 3:30.

Every time the subject of Jalyn and Show Group comes up, I wonder what really happened.
I believe the current lore is Jalyn corrected Victoria about something, Victoria complained, Kelli removed Jalyn from show group, and now Kelli harbors a deep and abiding hatred for Jalyn, but keeps her on the team, because...why, again? (After all, Kelli is known for hanging on to people she doesn't like, right? She keeps them on the team and tortures them for years.) And Jalyn keeps coming back because she is a glutton for punishment? So much so that she's going on year #4 now? Have any of you worked under a manager who clearly did not like you? It quickly becomes unbearable.
There may be a grain of truth to the story, but it's all a little too telenovela for me.
Anyway, I was curious whether Jalyn even has a job that would allow her the flexibility to be on Show Group, so Iooked her up and this made me laugh.. @JayDKay and @Pj3422 I wish I could quote you, but the other thread is locked now. Time to polish up that resume!

No one will get in trouble 🤣…it was posted on LinkedIn, I was in aware since I hardly get on. I knew that it was sent internally throughout DCFC and posted on the monitors at the Star and Stadium offices.
Yes, Dancing Girls, because when they are shooting music is playing and they are dancing for poses instead of being placed. Make sense?
Ahhh, I see. Basically those are action shots. Got it! Thanks Shelly

Nope, she was there…but I know the Vets were asked if they wanted to reshoot or use a previous cameo/dancing girl. She may have opted for that photo instead of using a new one shot last summer - not that they ever have a say, but last TC, everything was so different - they did their own HMU, one person in set at a time, a long process…longer than normal. As far as the pics on the site, they were selected from the shoot, had final edits and put into a 2020 folder for webmaster to add. Could totally be human error - I’ll have to look into it.
Just saw that Gina's cameo has been updated on the DCC website now. Thanks @ShellyB 😃

Seasoned law student here, can definitely attest to this. American firms (and law schools even) are VERY particular about what attorneys should wear. Plain black/blue suits, MAYBE tan for men in the summer, plain coloured shirts, no bold patterns or colours. Canada is very different from this, much more colour is allowed and patterns are welcome. Always a bit of whiplash attending events/panels/etc. from either country lol
Okay, red suit for closing arguments would be killer
*starts taking notes*
My guess is that the field that she's in - gov't and construction would also be especially conservative, no? They're not looking for Ally McBeal to walk in the door.
I watch Emily D Baker on youtube. She's a lawyer who used to be a district attorney and one time she said that when she's in court, the last thing she wanted to do was draw a jury's attention. You want the jury focused on the case, not on how cute your shoes are, or where'd you get that necklace. Not that Karissa is a prosecutor, but I wonder if the rule still kind of applies.

Having exhausted the topics of vaccines, blackface, cultural appropriation, and such, let us now turn our attention to gun control, the death penalty, and trans-men and -women in professional sports.
Actually, I think we could all use a palate cleanser. Plus, it's a long holiday weekend. Yay 'Murica! I'll leave you with this...
(This is throwback audition stuff. Spoilered for those who aren't into that.)
SpoilerSince we don't have any footage from this year's audition, I give you 1996 DCC finals. This is only 8 minutes, not the whole thing, but it's uncut, so you can see what it's really like. They're sweaty, they're tired, their hair is a mess, they screw up, etc. We could only dream of this kind of coverage today.
Observations:
In the blonde group,
- Carrie Reeves (42) and Shannon Swanson (44) were both 2 year veterans. The other two were rookie candidates, I believe. Shannon was the only one in the group who made the team. She was a "gap year" girl, on the team 94, 95, 96, then 2001 and 2002. (Returning after a couple years wasn't that uncommon back then.)
- It's weird how the choreo doesn't fit the music at all. Even the ones who are doing it right look like they're dancing in slow-mo.
- Do not miss our friend @ShellyB in the front row all the way to the left, looking completely over it. 🤣 There's another woman in the audience eating snacks, not caring one bit that she's on camera.
- I knew they had to do kickline twice but I didn't realize it was right splits one time and left splits the other time. Do they still do this?
- You can really see how doing the dance twice and the kickline twice really kicked these women in the tail. Some of those kicks got lower...and lower...By the end of it, they all seem so done.
In the brunette group,
- Johnene Rhodes (46) Is that crushed velvet? got cut but later made the team in 1997. It must've been the eyebrow that did it. The one eyebrow has a mind of its own.
- Melissa Valdez (47) was a 2 year vet and made the team.
- Belinda Galvan (?) (48) didn't make the team
- Linda Badami (49) was a 1 year vet and made the team again. The oldest DCC ever made some of the others in her group look like pikers.
- Denise something (50) didn't make the team
This is video is the women dancing around while they wait for the judges to deliberate. Makes you wonder where young Phil was at this point in time. Don't blink or you'll miss ShellyB doing waaaay too much. 😆
This video is the first few numbers called in the team announcement. No training camp this year. (I think Shelly said training camp concept was introduced some time during her tenure on the team, but I don't recall the year.) Here's comes Shelly with the cartwheel. Would love to see someone try that these days.
Random factoid: the first one announced, Terra Watson, is the owner of Dallaswear, the company that makes those super-sparkly audition outfits.
This video shows the women taking a group photo just after the squad announcement. It's not that interesting, but here it is anyway. I'd love to know why it was necessary to move Cindi Burck (redhead in red in the front row) from one side other, making everyone else scootch over like that. Was this a "bouquet" moment? Too many blondes in a row?
Bonnie-Jill Laflin is also in this pic, for those who know of her. She's in the back row, 4th from the left.

Oy vey! I don't get how anyone could look at that design for those shorts when it was submitted and not go "hmm, the placement of those white criss crosses may not be the best idea."
I think they are meant to be a nod to the lacing on football pants, kind of like their other costumes. Or at least, I hope that's what it was.
6 minutes ago, KnyghtRyder said:She did clarify that awhile back. This site may have still been previously.tv at the time. And a poster (who was either at at auditions or had a good friend tryout) confirmed. Back when there really were 600 girls trying out, it was just much more efficient way to process the girls through - table 1 was 1-100, table 2 was 101-200, etc. Then first group of girls head to table 1, second group to table 2, and so on.
Edit: yes, what @sleepyjean explained much more eloquently two posts above mine👆
You're more concise and to the point. I tend to be
a littlevery wordy.😄- 5

Shelley said once that they skip numbers because there are so many different tables.
Yeah, and I think they pre-assign numbers to those who register in advance so they'll get low numbers. So if they have a bunch of pre-registrations who take 1-99, then they have say 4 tables for walkins,
table 1 (A-F) gets numbers 100-199
table 2 (G-L) gets numbers 200-299
table 3 (names M-R) gets numbers 300-399
table 4 (names S-Z) gets 400-499I can see how there'd be lots of gaps, especially near the end of each table's range (i.e. 175-199, 275-299, etc.)
I used to think the gaps were a little shady, but it makes sense to me now.

I think she went to the first few years of med school in Guadalajara, Mexico. Then, they transfer to a U.S. school for at least the last year, and then do internship, residency, etc. Guadalajara is a decent school, unlike some other countries, or even other Medical Schools in Mexico that lead no where.
I only know that she went there because a friend's son went there a few years ago, and she told me about the entire procedure.
Yep. She goes to La Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara. They do their first two years on campus in Mexico. For years 3. and 4, they can choose to do their clinical rotations at an affiliated facility in Mexico, Puerto Rico, or the US. Cersten spent year 3 (and presumably will spend year 4) at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

Ashley's natural hair is so cute. Cutting it (when she was a Dolphins Cheerleader) really made her stand out. If she makes the team, Kelli would be crazy to change it.
Having said that, I would love for them to show Kelli going to Rose Style with some of the other girls, especially Armani. I don't think they did her justice last year. I'd also like to see Kelee. We only have that one photo in training camp and she doesn't have the braids anymore. Her hair looks good from what I can tell. I hope they don't try to add a bunch of crazy highlights.

It seems like - for the schools outside of Texas - once one woman becomes a DCC, other women from her college dance team think about auditioning too. I'm thinking especially of UCLA, Arizona State, and U of Nebraska.

Kelli and Madeline's mom weren't rookie sisters. Shannon joined the team two years after Kelli.
Kelli was a DCC for 5 years. She had 140+ teammates during that time and it was more than 30 years ago. It was the nineteen-freaking-eighties! I don't remember people I worked with every day even ten years ago.

IIRC, it was her boyfriend’s Twitter that had the homophobic tweets, and since they were similarly aligned in other right wing viewpoints, the assumption was made that she felt the same on that issue as well. Specifically I think it was about marriage equality.
That said, it’s been a few years and she wouldn’t be the first person that lightened up on that point of view over time.
Thank you for answering this, I appreciate knowing this. Is she still dating the same guy?

I really don't understand the homophobic thing with Rachel. When this topic was first mentioned during her rookie year, I asked someone to point out to me what she tweeted that was homophobic, and the person just told me to look at her twitter. I did and I saw a bunch of stuff about her conservative politics, but I didn't see anything homophobic. I'm still lost as to where that comes from, unless people assumed that conservative automatically = homophobic. Just like some assumed conservative = antivax (cough cough).
ETA: I wasn't asking the question back then (or now) to attack or challenge, but because I wanted to see it for myself. That label, just like the "racist" label is so damaging, it can absolutely destroy a person's reputation and prospects, so I need to see some evidence before I'm willing to get on board.

No judgement towards you and your opinion (honest!), but I liken the turn Kalyssa's taken to bordering on soft porn. Enjoy it while you're young I guess. 🤷♀️
Didn't say I'm a fan of glamour photography, just that that's what it's called😃. TBH, I wouldn't want my BFF, my sister, or my kid doing it for a variety of reasons I won't bore you with. But I figure, that's her dream, and she's putting a lot into it. Some people are into synchronized swimming, some people climb Everest, some people collect vintage vacuum cleaners. I don't understand what's so great about those things anymore than I understand wanting to post endless numbers of sexy photos of yourself, but live your dreams, sis.

That number has fluctuated between 25 and 50 depending on which MTT season you are watching. And I'm pretty sure that's just the number of routines in general, not new routines. Total speculation on my part, but I'm guessing they have maybe five new dances each year and half of them are hip hop or contemporary that are only used for SG, and those are all done by guest choreographers.
If that's true, it makes me feel sorry for the vets who have to attend rehearsal night after night for dances they already know. But I did hear there are some rookies-only rehearsals, so maybe the vets do get a break.

Is anyone else getting déjà vu? I feel like this exact same thing happened a couple of years ago. A photo was posted, there was a big uproar because someone wasn't in it, and then it turned out they were still in TC, they just weren't in that particular photo?
Which isn't to say someone hasn't been cut, but honestly, who knows anymore?
ETA: @Tuxcat that does look like Kat to me too.

2021 Auditions, Finals, and Training Camp
in S16
· Edited by sleepyjean
If there is an Assistant Director position in the offering, I would bet money Jackie Bob has thrown her hat in the ring. She seems to have kept at least one foot in the pro cheer world since she retired and doesn't seem to have another career that she's dedicated to.
Jackie was well respected by her teammates, She had over 9 years on the sidelines with the 49ers and Cowboys, plus several years as a DCC all star, and was a captain/leader for multiple years on both teams. She has worked with the Pro Bowl cheerleaders and DCC youth camps for years, still teaches dance, and judges cheer/dance auditions. She also has a business background in marketing and sales, though I'm not sure how extensive that is. She is much better positioned for the role than most other DCC who've retired in the last 10 years or so.
I've long believed Jackie's ultimate goal is to direct an NFL dance team and expect her to be right there when Kelli retires.
ETA: Jenn Amburn is my second guess, as far as fairly recent alumni go.
