  1. Aw crap. I guess I better go back and edit a few of my posts.
  2. That was my point. MavisL pointed out a lot of ways the organization is problematic. Yet there's anger because they shut the WOC out of it. Maybe the WOC aren't missing out on anything. lol precisely.
  3. So many likes on this comment. And at the same time here we are with pages and pages of passionate comments castigating the organization for not opening this golden opportunity equally to members of ethnic and racial minority groups. It's an interesting contrast.
  4. I regret that I have but one "like" to give. The "best of the best" by definition have many other options, including jobs where they get to perform more than once a week for 5 months. Given his flamboyant personal style, you know Marshall has suffered his fair share of judgemental jackasses. The fact that he responded with such calm, class, and reason makes me like him a lot. Well, only part of that is speculation. We have photos from the last two years at least, so we do know the numbers for the open call, though not for all three rounds. This year and last there were 155-165 candidates, and approximately 20-25 were "visible" minorities. Because it helps identify who will need the most time and effort to become media ready. Just like they like girls to come in already looking the part, they also prefer girls who walk in already acting the part. They're less work. And there are some girls you can probably tell from jump that will never be good at it. It's fascinating to me, all the small opportunities and tiny ways they find to reinforce rank and status in this group.
  5. Yes. She graduated last month. Madeline Salter
  6. Just one thought on the Gabby situation: last year there were a lot of people miffed because Keyra was cut due to her shape/weight...and then we found out it was (presumably) about her lateness and attitude. Keeping or losing a spot on the team isn't only about dance, looks and seeming nice on tv, it's also about overall job performance as an employee, and social media gives us no insight into that.
  7. It's a b***h of a situation, that's for sure. Adding a chair would be one reasonable solution, but they'd have to fit another person at the table and in the shot, and that might have presented other problems. You're right. And the more I think of it, the more they should consider bringing back the older cut of the shorts. Kelli looked pretty cute in them and they'd still work today. They could call it a return to tradition, and we know how they are about tradition!
  8. I remember when she said that, and it's funny because they are pretty out of step with the times now. Ultra low rise waistlines are ten years out of date. Happy to contribute 😉 Well...yes and no. On the one hand, traffic happens to everyone. We've all been late to things that were extremely important. It's an awful feeling, especially if you've taken extra care to arrive early and still get screwed. On the other hand, Kelli has been on the job for almost 30 years, and I bet she has heard a LOT of BS excuses from flaky young women. (Wasn't there a girl a few seasons ago who was late or didn't respond to an email or somesuch because she said her boyfriend didn't remind her to do it. Sorry...it's a vague memory.) Maybe Raven's excuse is legit, and maybe she just was running late and didn't want to admit it. Kelli probably has a finely honed BS detector at this point, and could tell which it is, but she also seems to have hardened over the years and is less and less willing to accommodate any deviation from her plans. Realistically speaking, assuming Raven's story was legit, what should they have done? What would have been fair? They had 20 panel interviews scheduled that day and a lot of people, crew, and logistics in place to make it happen. If one girl is late, they're not going to push back all the other interviews, nor are they going to stay late to interview her on her own. And it would have been unfair to take her into TC without an interview.
  9. Plot twist! TCC Madeline Salter's mom was Shannon Hall. Madeline isn't just a legacy, her mom was on the team with Kelli and Tina 1987-89. They were and still are friends. Werk, ladies! Kelli is 3rd from left and Tina and Shannon are 5th and 6th from left.
  10. Re-posting now that everyone has been identified. Great work, detectives! top row 1 Kat Puryear (rookie candidate) 2 Rachel Wyatt 3 Gina Campagna (rookie candidate) 4 Erin Sauerhage 5 Shaina Grace (rookie candidate) 6 Hannah Anderson 7 Madeline Salter (rookie candidate) 8 Tess Guidry 9 Taylor Johnson 10 Miranda Tims 11 Molly Neumeister 12 Kelcey Wetterberg (rookie candidate) 13 Lily Johnson (rookie candidate) 14 Heather O'Connor 15 Alanna Tarango 16 Victoria Kalina (rookie candidate) middle row 17 Madeline Molloy 18 Julia Fife (rookie candidate) 19 Caroline Sundvold 20 Ashley Hancock (rookie candidate) 21 Bret Lindley (rookie candidate) 22 Taylor Pedersen (rookie candidate) 23 Alexis Peterson 24 Amy Feril 25 Alexandra Pena (rookie candidate) 26 Amanda Dilks (rookie candidate) 27 Maddie Massingill 28 Lauren Ligon (rookie candidate) 29 Jalyn Stough 30 Amber McMillan bottom row 31 Bridget Jacob 32 Meredith Madden (rookie candidate) 33 Lisa Mills (rookie candidate) 34 Chandi Dayle (rookie candidate) 35 Daphne Janes 36 Savannah Heineken 37 Kristin Dodd (rookie candidate) 38 Christina Riccelli 39 Ashlee Ford 40 Lexie Smith 41 Gina Ligi 42 Rachel Alexander 43 Brennan Cook 44 Briana Baisden 45 Cianna Levi
  11. LOL, I have no idea what you mean. I think she's adorable. I agree they used to have a lot more glam than they have had in the recent past. Which isn't to say the women on recent teams aren't pretty, there just haven't been as many bombshells. In addition to Amanda, Kat, and Ashley, Gina Marie has bombshell potential too. She's the one that was missing! Now we have everyone identified. Thank you! Tina has been accused of a lot of crazy stuff on this forum. This is by far the most random theory yet.
  12. LOL, who goes to the DCC insta on the day of finals and complains that there's coverage of the results of finals? People confuse me. SMH
  13. Politely requesting everyone who wants a PM from Bigskygirl contact her directly.
  14. Other former finalists who got cut again...Bri Lutrell, Cassidy Hale, Raven Anzaldua Any chance the missing blonde is Lexie Bazzano? Nah, I guess not. https://www.instagram.com/lexie_bazzano/

  16. She wore pretty much the same outfit too. I just did. I've done it every time someone said "just look at her twitter" as evidence that she is a terrible human being. Then, as now, I saw comments reflecting an interest in Clemson football, conservative political values, and Christianity. I saw nothing related to homophobia. If you know of a specific comment, please PM me and point me toward it. I'm not one to support a bigot if she truly is one.
  17. Borrowing each other's clothes is a prestige thing? IIRC Gina's outfit is pretty much the same thing as last year, just ice blue instead of white. She couldn't buy a tube of E6000 glue and do the crystals herself? It doesn't require a high level of skill, just a good eye and a steady hand. I wasn't a fan of his before, but this makes me like him more. This is a bit ridiculous - anonymous people posting nasty comments about someone they don't know but are 100% sure they know the full situation. He knows her. He likes her. It's good that he stood up for her. All of Erica's solos were recycled choreo, no? No, she didn't. I believe 2016 is the only year she didn't do it. I'm going to need a lot more than a completely unsubstantiated anonymous post before slapping that label on someone I don't know and writing her off.
  18. I feel like this is one of those stories that has a grain of truth, but got distorted in the retelling, game of telephone-style. My guess is Hannah ran into Kelli, and Kelli didn't immediately recall her. (There have been 200+ DCC in the last 12 years. I can forgive her not having instant recall of all of them, especially since we know Kelli isn't very close to them and Hannah was only there for a year.) I bet Kelli said something like "you look great, you've changed so much!" Hannah repeat it to a friend, who told a friend, who told a friend, and it morphed into "Kelli had no idea who she was."
  19. Tiffany: "I just finished my interview and it went soooo so so good." It "went good"? Oh dear. I hope she was a bit more eloquent in front of the panel.
  20. Heather is wearing it too I think. Or one very similar. Very pretty. Savannah also wore it for her "Kelli" costume. 2
  21. Emmy has some interesting insta stories where she talks about her interview. She said she didn't say most of what she'd planned and she saw them taking notes and it was a little nerve-wracking, but she said it went well. She also previewed the finals outfit, which is the same as last year, but with the crystals placed differently on the shorts. She also said they asked for shoe sizes. 2019 2018
  22. That's a false equivalency. It's not about how iconic you are, it's about how much power you have. Sarah Jessica Parker had a lot of power on her show and no doubt had keeping the clothing written into her contract. The DCC as individuals have no power or influence to speak of, no agents, and nothing to negotiate with.
