  1. You are definitely not alone. Unfortunately, the character is a favorite of the show runner, writers, etc so she is not going anywhere. At times, I think they are trying to make her a co-lead with Hargitay with the amount of focus that Rollins gets. I’m surprised they haven’t promoted her to Lieutenant by now, considering that they have continually overlooked her transgressions over the years.
  2. It’s a shame that they didn’t delve more deeply into the storyline. They totally rushed the undercover operation; wouldn’t it have set up a red flag that a brand new drug rep, on orientation no less, was so willing to participate in a threesome right away? Also, you would have thought the sleazebag doctor would have been a little more cautious about someone coming in and so willing to agree to sex immediately for drugs. They totally could have built up this storyline for the whole hour but instead it was just filler for Rollins family drama. Horrible. It seems the Dick Wolf shows all had a “drugs are bad “ theme last week. I don’t watch Chicago Med but both Fire and PD did a crossover event featuring fake oxy laced with fentanyl. So, there was the whole afterschool special starting from the drug companies pushing their drugs to the docs prescribing them recklessly to teens getting their drugs from a nefarious gang member. Then they threw in a bit about vaping for good measure. Ok... I’m now thoroughly educated.
  3. I’m still hopeful that they will continue to have Kat progress and work her way up to detective. They have her making some mistakes, but she is still on the learning curve. I REALLY hope that they don’t screw up her character with personal drama and then subsequently allow that to effect her job performance. Believe it or not, I used to like the Rollins character until the powers-that-be did exactly that to her. Fin is definitely underutilized. I think he remains the most objective member of the squad by a mile, including his captain. It would we nice to see him flexing his sergeant skills more. There have been no Fin-centric episodes recently. We rarely see his son Ken and his little grandson; it’s been so long since we have had heard about the grandson that I can’t remember his name. We don’t need to see them like we see Noah and the Rollins’kids but more than once every year or two would be acceptable. It looks like Kelli Giddish has lost quite a bit of weight recently; she was slim to begin with. With that being said, if she is “haggard” , sign me up ; she really is very pretty. I’ve read speculation online about possible personal issues, such as removing pictures of her husband from her instagram, but social media is obviously not the Holy Grail . I didn’t read anything definitive but I do hope that she is ok.
  4. I almost forgot that I do have a positive thing to say: Carisi stayed out of the Rollins ‘ drama. My only positive comment. I’m still going off about this episode; bear with me. Why was SVU even involved in this sting? It seemed more like a joint vice/DEA case than a SVU case. They didn’t pursue finding other victims of the doc that offered sex for drugs outside of Kim. Ridiculous.
  5. Anyone else hate this episode? Way too much Rollins’ drama; I think about 70% of the show focused on them. Plus we had a side note of “vaping is bad” to inject Noah into the episode. The whole undercover sting was rushed just to accommodate the Rollins’ cluster****. Benson so blatantly pushed her agenda that she should have just worn her badge to that dinner. It didn’t make sense that Hadid wouldn’t plan her part in the sting with Benson and Kat. And we got a little morsel of Hadid’s personal life just to add to the personal drama. Side note: how soon do you think we are going to see Momma Rollins again? I was wrong; I thought for sure Rollins was going to go back to the ortho doc and get a rx for oxy just to set her up with an addiction storyline. By the way, SVU writers, ortho docs don’t recommend aspirin after getting a knee drained or injected and they definitely don’t offer narcotics for orthopedic issues as 1st line treatment, if at all, like Rollins’ doc did. Fin was just used as a prop to support Rollins this episode. I did like when he told off Kim. Underused again. Awful, just awful.
  6. Omg... I am already in need of “eternal relief from pain”. I have a feeling I know where this is going. Who wants to make a bet that Rollins goes back for that script?
  7. I completely forgot about Fin doing that; thank you for the reminder. Even Benson has overlooked her misdeeds in the past couple of seasons after coming down hard on her in the past. I know I will have a high level of need to vent after this episode, too. I enjoy reading everyone’s reactions and viewpoints to each episode. This post-episode discussion should be quite lively.
  8. Xeliou66, you know I detest Rollins drama as much as you do. You know it is bad when we both invoke God/Jesus. I’m generally an optimistic person, but I don’t know how I am going to make it through this episode. All I can say is that the base storyline better knock it out of the park. I’m interested in seeing Kat undercover again and watching her progression. Fin has generally done a decent job of staying out of her drama; the only thing I remember him doing is giving her money to get out of her gambling debt. Amaro got overly involved; I worry that Carisi might follow that path due to his unrequited feelings for her. I seriously hope I’m wrong. Carisi is one of my favorite characters.
  9. According to the script shot provided, Kim is calling Rollins because she failed a drug test and may need help with her son. I’m guessing that she is ratting on the doc that may have provided her with drugs to get herself out of trouble. Sounds like something Kim would do.
  10. Would it be too much to ask for death for the entire Rollins’ family?
  11. This episode is getting worse and worse for me. SVU writers’ room on twitter just released the cast/characters’ list appearing tonight and a shot of the script. Problem #1: we have Noah, Jessie and Billie appearing tonight. Problem #2: there is a character named Jim Rollins played by James Morrison; why do I have the feeling that this is Rollins’ father? Another Rollins being incorporated in; sweet Jesus. Problem #3: apparently, Kim has procreated and has a son named Mason. WTF?? How many freakin Rollins’ family members are going to be on screen tonight??
  12. When/if NBC announces the final season of SVU, I would like to see Stabler make an appearance; his character is a huge part of SVU’s history and I can’t imagine the show ending without seeing him again. I would prefer that it would be storyline-dictated, such as a joint NYPD operation and they have to work together again. I want some sort of 1:1 confrontation between Benson and Stabler and even Stabler and Fin to provide some closure ; Meloni would bring out Mariska’s acting skills again (I think). I don’t want him to come in only to ride off into the sunset with Benson; no, no and no. Can you imagine the ratings for a well-publicized Stabler return?
  13. I’m with you on this. How many Rollins-centric episodes have we had to endure lately? I don’t think that there have been any episodes that have had a focus on Fin, who is the second longest-termed character on this show, this season. I second the motion to kill off Kim.
  14. I think that Terriers is probably his best work; it was cancelled too soon. He was also really good in Sons of Anarchy and Law and Order:SVU. OK...he’s good in everything I have seen him in. I even rooted for his character Chuck in ER when I didn’t even know of him at that point. I didn’t realize he was going to be on the Unicorn until I saw the episode. Pleasant surprise. Please bring Denny and Meg back. Characters like Meg, who don’t allow their curviness to stop them from pursuing romance, are often portrayed as incompetent and ditzy. Hats off to the Unicorn for breaking a stereotype.
  15. Loved seeing Donal Logue in this episode as Denny. He was as awesome as he usually is. The actress who played Meg was hysterical. Lol- how about Denny, Meg, and Jeff being added as the new family that hangs out with the core group? I wasn’t sure if I was going to stick with this show after the pilot but glad that I did. The show is very well-casted; I even like the teenagers on the show. So far, so good.
  16. I also felt like they could have taken the storyline up a notch, such as Luna figuring out that her employees were trying to gaslight her and getting the last laugh. It would have been great to have a recurring psychiatrist in place to offer his opinion & evaluation of Luna. It would have been a bigger twist if she fooled both Benson and Carisi with her breakdown. I also agree that Carisi was straddling the line and it was not appropriate for him to be sitting in on initial interviews . He’s no longer a detective but he is more involved in the investigations than the typical ADA.
  17. I didn’t like this episode. I should have liked it; there were some twists but the twists were predictable. When Luna dismisses Melanie with Benson at the beginning followed by her attitude about Luna when she was initially interviewed, I knew she was somehow behind whatever was going on and I easily guessed that they were working on wanting her out of her own company. I’m still hazy on if she was raped or not; it seemed risky for them to take it that far in case SVU believed that she was indeed raped and didn’t uncover their planted payoffs, etc. That part of the story was kind of pushed to the side. The actress who played Luna was good, especially in the mental breakdown scene. No Fin this week. Kat was OK; nothing special this week. There was the usual Benson pep-talk scenes with Luna wanting to use some Benson catchphrases. I continue to be distracted by Rollins’ only facial reaction being an open-mouthed stare; I wonder how many bugs she swallows on a daily basis. Overall, I was just underwhelmed tonight.
  18. Social media is abuzz about Rollisi more than anything else about this episode. It seems the majority of SVU fans are clamoring for them to get together as a couple rather than remain friends. It is painful seeing one of my favorite characters, who is truly a decent guy, crushing on and getting jealous over another character who is not worth the time of day. It’s technically not even a solid friendship as it seems that he is always there for her but I can’t think of 1 instance when she supported him. What is wrong with strong platonic working relationships like Fin/Benson? I was in the minority that preferred that Stabler and Benson kept their relationship platonic also. Let Carisi find someone who appreciates him (preferably off-camera or seldomly seen) and let her continue her trend of banging random guys. Tornado Kim comes to town in a couple of weeks so I’m sure Carisi will be at Rollins’ side again. All I can say is that Rollins must have the most flexible nanny in the entire world that can handle her work schedule and her dating life; at least she was smart enough to get knocked up by 2 men who are able to easily afford child support to pay for the nanny’s hours. I did like the transit detective; it looks like he is going to be coming back. Leight does like to bring Broadway stars on board, so maybe he will stick around. Hopefully, he will be there for SVU support rather than as solely Rollins’ latest boyfriend. One final note on the Rollisi thing: I would much rather the writers focus on a strong, multi-layered storyline/case of the week than the abyss known as Rollisi. I sometimes catch an older episode and it makes me nostalgic for a good storyline. I know it must be difficult to keep things fresh after 21 years but use a little creativity as the social and legal landscape is always changing. Sorry for my ranting. Btw, where is dttruman this week? Hopefully she/he is ok.
  19. I agree that this was a solid episode; good storyline. I liked the new cop; is he going to be a regular or recurring cast member? It seems like he is heading for a relationship with Rollins-dear God. He needs to be forewarned that Rollins isn’t a fan of birth control or he will be baby daddy #3. The title of the episode seemed not only to be a favorite saying of the green card guy but it seemed to be a thread for Rollins-Carisi (who looked like a forlorn puppy watching Rollins and new cop)-new cop. Nice to see Buchanan and the judge (?Cantano) again. My favorite scene was between Carisi, Buchanan, and green card guy at Carisi’s desk; I believe Buchanan may have had his tail between his legs when he left the office. That was especially satisfying, considering how condescending Buchanan was towards Carisi earlier in the episode. My only knock is that Fin didn’t get much airtime despite it being Ice T’s 450th episode. There was certainly no lack of scenes for Giddish for her 200th. Disappointing.
  20. I believe this is Ice T’s 450th episode and Kelli Giddish’s 200th episode. I’m not sure as to why they have Rollins going undercover for the green card scam when they have Kat, who is just as pretty, younger and more ethnic-appearing than Rollins. Kat has shown that she can handle herself undercover during her 1st appearance on SVU in the season premiere. Weird.
  21. Thank you-I knew I recognized the actor who played Romeo but couldn’t place him. Haha- wonder if Danny Pino put in a good word for him. “Disappointing thrill of seeing Raul” is a great way of phrasing his appearance. I was so excited to see him but then it was only for 30 seconds. I would love to see him come back for more significant screen time. I love Donal as much as I love Raul. I know Leight voiced his wish to have him back also. I loved Declan but I know his visit will be heavy on Rollins’ personal drama. Considering Kim is coming back as well as a possible introduction to Rollins’ father, it’s too much Rollins. We haven’t seen him in over 4 years; I would rather just let it be.
  22. I am so disgusted right now. They get Raul Esparza and it is not even a physical appearance? I’m not even sure if he was on screen for 30 seconds; I should have known it was going to be a letdown for me. We didn’t even find out what he was doing specifically; it was all about Benson again. Carisi is bringing her soup; you would have thought Benson was the grieving widow not the ex-girlfriend who broke up with Tucker 2 years prior. There were so many things wrong with this episode; I don’t even know where to start. I almost fell off my sofa when Benson told Kat that she needed to keep a professional distance; that if you get too close, you can’t help the victim. WOW- what a novel concept! I’m also not sure why Benson and Rollins were upset with Kat for passing along the message from Esperanza’s father to get a lawyer. I’m assuming that she was under arrest for assault at that point and that is part of her rights. I know that they were wanting to talk to her about Kami but I would think that the local precinct would be handling her case for the assault at that point. Based on the information they had when they spoke to Hadid, I’m not sure why Rollins was pissed that she was charging her with manslaughter. Did she think she should have gotten off completely? I just hate Rollins. The actress who played Esperanza was excellent; that scene with her father in prison was so charged and she nailed it as did the actor playing Santos. That’s the only positive thing I can say about this episode. My view may have been tainted by how they started the episode .
  23. Okay...I just saw Julie Martin’s tweet also confirming :”Tune in tonight special guest you have missed”. There was a retweet below from Norberto Barba, a regular director for SVU, stating: ”My ‘tocayo’ makes a prescient call tonight on SVU.” Tocayo means namesake. I believe we have confirmation of a Barba visit; I can’t remember any Norberto’s. I know there is going to be the expected Benson scene but I also hope he has one with Carisi. I have way too much time on my hands right now being off work on medical leave. Xeliou66, I sincerely hope you are wrong about Kat but knowing how they like to make detectives look incompetent and/or undisciplined, I have a feeling you may be right about Kat in tonight’s episode.
  24. Did anyone else note that Warren Leight tweeted that there is a casting surprise in tonight’s episode? Exact tweet: “Breaking: one casting surprise in tomorrow’s #SVU21 is not in and of itself tragic. Reflective, bittersweet, oddly prescient, but not out and out tragic.” Tweeted on 2/5 @10:26 PM. I’m getting my hopes up again that it is Raul Esparza. There may be some high-pitched screaming happening if the old Barba shows up, not the Benson-castrated version. I’m also looking forward to a Kat-centric episode. I hope it shines a light on a competent, objective detective. Am I asking too much from this show?
  25. Xeliou66, you just broke my heart. First, I find out Kim Rollins is returning and now no appearance from Raul in the next episode. I had a feeling it was too good to be true. Rough day.
