  1. Finally. A good episode this season. It only took them 11 tries. Glad I’ve hung in there!
  2. Do I care about the Vietnamese woman? Meh...not really.
  3. He said both. He has a brother 10 years younger than him that doesn’t like him. He told Rebecca he has a sister in the episode where they all go to a tapping of the Manny.
  4. Swipers only work if you have signed up for and downloaded the credit app (like square). It only takes minutes to sign up on your phone. In the absence of a swiper, you can manually input the credit card info. Randall needing to learn boxing around the same time he went to weekly karate classses with Jack. Um, okay. Its almost like the writers don’t care about us. (Randall running in a district he doesn’t live in, Jack mentioning to Randall after the Howard visit, he watched his number get called for the draft on TV, Rebecca mentioning she has a sister. Toby tells Rebecca he has a sister after Kate’s first bar appearance). Anyone else got some?

    S13 E13: Game Day

The last 2 cuts were brutal. That has to be a horrible feeling - being pulled off the field and driven in a golf cart down a creepy, empty corridor to a make shift office. So much time to worry and freak out. Watching Malena become unhinged - ugh. So uncomfortable. I always thought there was something off with her. She reminds me of Reese Witherspoon in that movie...Election? Way too high strung but smiley.
  6. I have a theory about Chrissy and her character, Kate . Originally, as reported , the actress agreed to lose weight for the storyline. The reality was simply too hard while at the same time receiving fame and accolades for the show. The fame goes to her head and she flips the script and writes ( or has ghostwritten) a book about how she loves her body and is happy with herself ( I don’t believe this but your mind can play serious tricks on you ) and she receives even more fame and money for the feel good book. Now she also thinks she’s empowering other women by not losing the weight. Its really hard to lose weight. Chrissy didn’t even try hard before she gave up and decided to run with the story that she’s happy with her body. Now the writers don’t have an interesting story line. Kate’s the only character I don’t like. She isn’t written to be very likable. The only storyline I would be interested in is her losing the weight, so she could then develop an identity apart from being a fat person. Or maybe just becoming a bitchy skinny person. I’d even settle for that.
  7. Sorry...”we have all seen Kate talk and play with” Tess and Annie? When? I would argue the opposite. I don’t recall Kate ever interacting with the kids. Please correct me if I’m wrong ( with specific scenes).
  8. Would anyone like to discuss what a horrible mother Kate would be? Adopted or biological. She’s a narcissist. They make the worst mothers.
  9. Toby is in for some serious brain zaps and dizzy spells, and possibly becoming suicidal. Poor guy. Stupid decision to quit antidepressants cold turkey after 6 years.
  10. What’s most confusing to me is why “everyone” likes Tina so much as to give her daughter special treatment. Tina seems like a complete mess...there I said it.
  11. I know this has been discussed a lot already....but I have to vent. Kate loved the dog. Jack loved Kate so much he risked his life to go back for the dog. Jack dies. No one will ever know the exact cause. Kate resents and gives away the dog ( we think ). Jack was the one who wanted to get a family dog. Good grief , Kate . You could choose to see the dog as a family member and a beautiful reminder of how much your dad loved you. Why not throw away the photo albums and Rebecca’s necklace as well? I’ve tried so hard to like Kate for 2 seasons now. But now I’m beginning to think she’s just an asshole who only thinks about herself. ( and...did her brilliant plan of giving the dog away work? She wallows in her dads death everyday for the next 20 years anyway ). iP.S. If Kate comes to her senses and keeps and cherishes the dog, I’m the asshole. I am aware of that ?.
  12. I would appreciate it, now that he’s had time to cool down, if Randal would send Miss Linda a fruit basket and an apology note. And a picture from Annie.
  13. The social worker with the little boy looked a lot like an older Tess. I don’t think they’d jump that far in the future...but, weird, no?
  14. Oh, man...this was a really good episode!
  15. Excellent point. I was wondering how she even fits in the shower.
  16. That’s a really good point re: the Swedish baby bath ⬆️. ”Fits most tubs.” If it doesn’t fit your tub, wouldn’t it be too big for a newborn? The packaging was huge. And why would you buy it 8 months ahead of the baby? Buying something for the pregnancy would have made more sense. Like headphones you put on the belly. I feel like the writers of this show could really benefit from having one or two regular people (non writers ) in the writing room. To be like “hey! That doesn’t make any sense.” I really want to like Kate, but I don’t get her. I don’t relate to her and for the life of me, I don’t understand what the f*ck her problem is. She had a dad that adored her. Her mom loves her and 2 awesome brothers she’s close with.
  17. It’s interesting to me what story details bother people. For example, Kevin forging the prescription. That didn’t bother me so much ( I’m assuming you can google that or there’s probably YouTube tutorials). But I think it would have been more realistic for him to sweettalk the plastic surgeon (Charlotte?) into writing him one. Or like what others have mentioned here, a Hollywood actor could easily get Vicodin from numerous sources, no problem. I’ve heard of people buying them on Craigslist and OfferUp. Like, super easy. The detail I found incredulous in this episode was baby Kevin going from a sitting position , to standing to walking 10 sturdy steps. Not how it usually works. First bad casting . That baby has been walking for weeks. And while I’m at it ( sorry this is the wrong place)... The whole premise of Rebecca and Jack walking out of the hospital with baby Randall is completely wacked. You have to be approved to foster, have a home check, background check , fingerprints, etc. it’s a lengthy process . I know this is a TV show and sometimes you have to let things go but that one remains in the forefront of my mind. Sorry, you guys probably discussed this last year...I’m relatively new here ?. I still love the show and love this forum.
  18. Okay. I’m writing this here because I don’t know where else it should go. Probably not that unpopular, but I need to vent. Why is there no Toby thread?? Toby. Toby. Toby. I tried to like him. I think I did like him the first 2 episodes, but ever since his personality and behavior has been like a slow motion car crash for me. I almost can’t watch. Is he a comedian in real life? I don’t even want to google the actor, because I can’t stand him or Toby. I waitressed at the Improv Comedy Club in college. I got to know a lot of comedians. They were all exhausting. Like, trying to be funny all the time, every single second in life. Even if they were genuinely funny, which a lot were not, always trying to be funny seemed inauthentic. Their comedy was masking something/everything. They didn’t seem real or vulnerable. Much like Toby’s character. I find him to be the least authentic of all of them because 100% of his energy is trying to get a laugh out of someone. And it’s not for the benefit of the other person, it’s because Toby needs approval/the laugh. i do actually think he says funny things but find him to be exhausting to the point I don’t want to watch his scenes. I don’t buy him in the IT job with the Hawaiin shirt. Wtf? He should be in insurance or manage a Hertz car rental. The sex on the desk scene. Ugh. Not funny. The pregnancy happy song cafe scene- not funny on so many different levels. I’m shocked these writers think that’s cute or funny. I suspect many of them are failed comics projecting themselves onto Toby’s character. Ok. Rant over. Thanks for listening.
  19. I love Miguel. I was shocked to discover in the forums how most people hated him for marrying his dead best friend’s wife. I think he’s the most emotionally healthy character on the show. He was a great bff to Jack. He gave him great advice to appreciate her more when he started drinking the first time. Granted, mentioning her “great ass” wasn’t cool, but I just figured- they’re guys, drinking, guys say stupid shit that crosses the line sometimes. I can overlook that one line. The fact that he called Jack to apologize the next day for his advice, made me like him even more. Even though I don’t think an apology was necessary. He gave him possibly marriage saving advice. I suspect he took care of the family after Jack’s death. Miguel did not cheat on his wife, as some people here have suggested. There was a weird story line of a flirty secretary. Jack asked him if he was cheating. And Miguel said no. I believe him because he doesn’t seem like the type to lie to his bff. The secretary also flirted inappropriately with Jack. I did think it was super lame Miguel asked to be Pilgrim Rick. This I blame on the writers. I think the character of Miguel knows his place in the family and wouldn’t cross a line knowing the kids aren’t crazy about him and slightl mentally unbalanced. So him and Rebecca get married 12 plus years after Jack’s death. Give them a break. I’m sure Jack would be okay with it. From, Team Miguel ( except the make up job. Maybe they should try other make up artists? This one should maybe find another dream to follow).
  20. * I’m sad the season is almost over! * If someone told me Miranda was 40 years old with 4 kids, I wouldn’t be surprised. * Do these girls get paid to be on the show?? They must, right?!
  21. I'm not a dancer, so maybe I'm missing something. Does anyone have any idea why Alexandria has been struggling so much? I like her. She seemed really strong at auditions. Kelly liked her. She has tons of experience. She's committed, focused, ultra professional, attractive and nice. Now she's always getting called out . Why??
  22. Oh man, this episode was really weird. On so many different levels...I don't even know where to start. OK, the cowboys new mantra " to play, coach and work for the Dallas Cowboys is a privilege not a right." Um...you stole this from the DMV's slogan. ( driving is a privilege not a right). It's been in their drivers ed pamphlets since the 60's. I can't believe someone didn't stop them before they engraved it in the walls of the Star. Charlotte, Jerry -no. Just no. It's ridiculous . And plagiarized. And doesn't even make sense. You could technically say this about any sh*tty job. I have equally strong feelings about pop stars that don't actually sing at small, intimate house parties (pop star, Jinelle, not rockstar), tee shirt dresses, weird djs and chart topping country "It Girls" I've never heard of. But I don't want to bore ya ?. On a more positive note- I love Kelly and Judys non verbal communication during office visits. I love their relationship. I hope they really like each other in real life. I have mixed feelings about the Holly and Jenna situation. The scene we've all been waiting for ....was so confusing given the intel on these boards vs. what they chose to show us. For what it's worth, I hope Holly is okay. We all make bad decisions. "It's not how you fall down, it's how you get back up."
  23. Does anyone else think Cassie told on them? Just kidding.
  24. I'm a little late, but here are my random observations/comments of this episode: Mellisa cutting Judy off and contradicting her about Keyra was incredibly rude. She should have waited until Judy was finished speaking and toned down her excitement about disagreeing. Judy not saying a word during Celinda's cut ( from what we were shown) spoke volumes. Rarely does Judy vote to bring someone back to training camp a second time, and with good reason. I feel bad for Celinda. She seems sweet , but it never seemed like she would make it. One boot as a gift for the etiquette coach? "This is an actual game boot." What does that mean? It's used? A used boot for the etiquette coach? Oh, the irony. I think Kitty should take over any and all future office visits with Gina. Kelly was way too easy on her. I'm excited for the next episode, but I predict they bring up the Holly issue in the last 90 seconds and we have to wait until the following week for any answers.
