  1. I think the technicals help the bakers to bond seeing as they're all in the same boat.
  2. There wasn't anything to support the allegations in the way Danny and Amy comported themselves last night or tonight imo. Who knows?
  3. Rain and cold. No1 It's a core part of the challenges the bakers face.
  4. This week I thought Graeme was very much drunk uncle at the wedding, but Joe was my least favourite. I predict that the danceoff will be Graeme versus Danny (I thought Danny was actually really good, but bad comments, some dodgy press during the week and early placement will all affect his vote), with Graeme reaching the end of the road. Ashley's dance was stunning, but it didn't really feel like it should be on this show.
  5. Liam from last year has got his own C4 show: https://www.whatsontv.co.uk/events/liam-bakes-c4-12-nov/
  6. One of the funniest episodes ever. I thought Manageair’s presentation was terrible ... until I saw the other one. jet pop was misconceived in every possible way, but those were mostly laid bare in the show. A lot of people accusing one another of being unprofessional in rather snide ways. Kayode is not remotely as good a speaker as he thinks he is. Kurran was completely useless as a leader. Sabrina was not much better in her team, and was lucky they “won” (more accurately failed less spectacularly).
  7. The alien was kind of cute. I half expected that when baby, er, Avocado's name was revealed, the doctor would tell us that he grows up to become somebody important in history.
  8. Dr Ranj was so lovely, I’m sad to see him go, but he was one of the poorest dancers left.
  9. A lot of people raised their game this week. Ashley was amazing. Possibly in trouble, Dr Ranj, Kate, maybe Charles or Danny. We could be in for a shock.
  10. the problem for the losing team was IMO that Jackie designed a shoe for herself rather than a wider market. I thought it looked ugly and uncomfortable. The trainer was a bit cutesy with the bow. I note than no one mentioned comfort.
  11. Non of the showstopper slooked great (def not a good idea for Kim Joy to say brightly she was trying to make her ruins look mouldy ;) )I think in the end it was all about flavour.
  12. Graeme and Dr Ranj are probably the worst dancers still in, but they both have engaging personalities so I'll be sorry when the inevitable occurs. I was surprised Charles escaped the B2 this week, especially with that awful wig. Stacey OTOH looked better in the wig than she does au naturel. I didn't particularly like Faye's dance but she performed it well. Ashley was excellent imo, but I hated the costuming.
  13. I was talking to an elderly lady the other day in a cafe, she must have been 80or so, and she’s been a Doctor AWho fan since it started . she stopped watching during the Peter Capaldi era bc she struggled with his accent, but likes the new doctor.
  14. "These were notably bad. It wasn't just that the accents sounded wrong, they didn't sound like any Southern accent ever. I have learned to largely ignore it (though bad Louisiana/cajunish accents still make me a little stabby) but I always give major props when an accent is good. This was not one of those times. The episode was good enough to overlook it. " I think actors often genuinely believe they are better at accents than they actually are. There have been some horrendous attempts at British accents by Americans (and some excellent, convincing ones too). (The worst I remember was Anthony LaPaglia as Daphne's brother on Frasier; I still shudder at the memory.) Dialogue can also be an issue even if the actor is playing their own nation, if the writer is from somewhere else.
  15. That audience looked incredibly bored during both presentations. I thought massage had to be done by people with qualifications in it?
  16. I thought madeleines were almond flavoured. They all struggled a bit this week.
  17. Poor Vick. I really felt she had potential but for some reason she never managed to fulfil it. I think the specific problem this week was (as well as Charles quite likely being kept out of the danceoff by artificially high scores) that the routine was forgettable, but more generally a lack of big fanbase coming in, a new pro, and not being great all did for her.
  18. Well, we don’t know where the villain with the Spike chip went. I bet we see him again some time.
  19. I feel a bit as if I.m talking to myself here, anyway: No total disasters this week. It’s hard to predict a bottom two with Charles who would have been an unhesitatingly choice seemingly saved by high judge scores. THE EXCELLENT AND IT WOULD BE A TRAVESTY IF THEY LEFT AShley, Stacey, Faye, Danny THE GOOD AND I SOULD BE SAD TO THEM GO Ranj, Graeme, Seann (dance wise, not warming to the personality, ignoring the kiss),Joe NOT SO GOOD BUT NOT AWFUL Lauren - looked a bit ungainly, not sure about contemporary as a genre but not her fault Kate NOT FOR ME TONIGHT Vick, who was boring and is my prediction for the boot Charles - well danced but I hated the choreography and music and suspect a lot of the audiences will too. He was VERY LUCKY to get such good judges scores. I enjoyed Alfono’s Bruno impersonation, but otherwise he was pretty useless.
  20. Why on EARTH would you stick a cheap everyday biscuit on top of a doughnut? they looked awful. doughnuts are not intended to be savoury. They are all about the sugar. And they were all ridiculously overpriced.
  21. It's always lovely to see how well the bakers bond.
  22. poor Manon. She did perform poorly, but based on this week alone it should have been Rahul. He was clearly the worst in all three challenges. past glories may have protected him.
