  1. Yeah, Jessica didn't mean to make her cry, even though she had to know what the misunderstanding stemmed from. Ugh. Poor Megan had to be so confused. From her perspective, she gets attacked personally twice within 5 days and then she repeats something she overhears and misunderstands and she gets yelled at again. Alex could have avoided telling Cody he was a target, but I suspect he would ultimately know it was untrue and respect her less. I think he likes that she is so frank about her thoughts.
  2. Loved this episode so much. For reasons I still can't fathom, my DVR decided the new episode was coming on at 3am so I had to wait until today. I am so glad I avoided being spoiled. I loved Bill's happy ending (at least for now). Pearl Mackie absolutely broke my heart with her slow realization that she was a cyberman. She was so incredible. Loved pretty much everything between Missy and the Master. I particularly enjoyed the word play: knock yourself out, me and me, etc. I find myself really sad that we are saying goodbye to Capaldi. His grumpy charm really grew on me. I loved the callback to River's words and the speech about being kind.
  3. They didn't hear the gunshot because they all wandered back to the food court? If my mom went to get some critical equipment, I would at least be within view of the door. I mean they were opening and leaving a door unlocked with a known threat on the other side, maybe the security guard could have stuck around? Meanwhile, I know malls have been hit hard, but there is only one drone?
  4. Even if he has a cure, will everyone take it? If you are in a high risk profession (like the soldiers), you get a distinct advantage from being a zombie. FG may have started to address the zombie issue as a self-preservation, but it is clear that some people thing of it as an advantage or improvement.
  5. Maybe he is just practicing safe hex. I will show myself out.
  6. I would really love to see them explore some of the implications of a totally open (and somewhat human) zombie status next year. For every person running for a pitchfork or loading up a moving van, there would be others running to Seattle for a cure or the secret to eternal youth. Imagine the hope that would be generated for late-state cancer patients or those with debilitating progressive issues like ALS. That probably would have been the angle I led with if I were FG. Some will see it as a miracle, others an abomination. There is also a darker side to explore. Would employers start employing zombies for more dangerous work because they are less likely to die in the event of a horrific injury and don't need to eat as often? We have already seen that with FG, but as knowledge of zombies spread, surely others would also try to capitalize on it. Would safety standards be set differently for someone who can heal quickly? I feel for Major. I think he finally found a place that he was accepted, and suddenly he was ousted from it. Maybe next year they can give the poor character a break.
  7. Megan handled that way better than anyone should have. Poor girl was like: what did I do? I am still digging Christmas. She seems like a genuinely cool person. Honestly, most of this cast seems pretty cool. Except Josh. He is terrible.
  8. Not to mention, what in the hell was the father talking when he basically said her mother didn't get love like they did. Not only did he do an end-around, and fail to make sure his daughter made it home by the curfew he gave her, but he also trash talked her mother. That doesn't exonerate mom, who decided that this was the time to rip her daughter away from her father and routine, because nothing helps ease trauma like making your kid feel like her sexual assault is going to cause her parents to get divorced. I am sure that won't have any lasting effects on an already traumatized girl.
  9. I hate Paul, so I was not happy to see him. I find him tedious. That being said I don't hate everyone yet. I thought it was an interesting group overall. I didn't mind Cody. He was very even tempered, but he had some pretty funny lines and he wasn't impressed with Paul. Christmas seemed pretty awesome. I was surprised she didn't choose competition, but she clearly made the right choice. Cameron seemed pretty awkward. I wonder if he was more so with the girls, and whether that also influenced votes.
  10. The Ruth/Debbie stuff was amazing and looked super painful. Poor Debbie was finally having fun and along comes her awful ex to bring everything down like a sudden case of diarrhea. Poor Justine brings back all of the uncertainty and impulsiveness of being a teenager. You don't know if you want to hug her or yell at her. About right. I enjoyed the optimistic beat at the end. The entire live performance was incredibly entertaining.
  11. It seemed like she had gotten there or was on her way to me too. I loved the pairings as well. It was entertaining to see what didn't work.
  12. I agree that the Homewrecker is a better name, but only if Ruth could sell it. I suspect part of the problem is that she feels so damn guilty, she can't own it as a persona. I liked this episode a lot. I enjoyed mixing up the ensemble a bit. I felt for Debbie. She clearly feels so blindsided by everything. I thought it was interesting that she didn't tell her family about Ruth. Was she embarrassed? Is her anger cracking a bit? Does she just not want to hear everyone else's opinions? I was glad to see her find her groove a bit at the end. I am really digging this cast. They play off one another well, and all of the characters seem to have some depth to them.
  13. I believe she traded sexual favors for an alibi. The increasingly detailed and ridiculous story was cracking me up.
  14. I loved this episode. It was all the things I love about Doctor Who, particularly because I am a sucker for episodes where they run around on spaceships. I am so sad about Bill, though it is Doctor Who, where death is not necessarily final.
  15. I agree. Hopefully some of the characters develop more depth and nuance. Otherwise, I have a feeling I will be rooting for the Mist soon.
  16. I am still so bummed about this cancellation. I keep hoping they will change their mind. Maybe they will get some awards and Netflix will give us a movie. http://www.goldderby.com/article/2017/sense8-emmy-submissions-farewell-nominations-for-netflix-series-its-surprising-lead-actor/
  17. I have to agree that the team concept is flawed. It might have been neat to have people competing with a team under them (give us some interaction with whoever is doing the overnight work), but by forcing teams you are forcing all of the designs to look the same. Some of my favorite designs in the past have been from one person doing something totally different with a concept. You cannot get that under this format. Despite theoretically having more people to work on these, the quality is not there either. Huge eye holes two weeks in a row, unfinished looks with bare unpainted skin, etc. Everything is by and large a hot mess.
  18. I was a little disappointed in this. I felt like the pacing was off, and I am having trouble rooting for any of the characters. I am hoping it will get better now that the action is starting.
  19. I was sad we would only get Kristin Chenoweth for one episode, but I didn't need to worry. She was incredible. I wish we had gotten to the final confrontation a little sooner, or that we got to see some of the fallout, but I guess we will have to wait until next season. I do think it's interesting that they never once thought about what their actions would do to people. It seemed to echo the discussion with Laura Moon. They literally do not care if mortals die, as long as they get what they want.
