  1. I agree - whilst I'm sorry Reece looked so sad at going he definitely wasn't in the same league as the others. It was well beyond his time to leave. There was also the point where he was sitting waiting the 4 (?) hours to start cooking when he commented that he did better in short cooks as he didn't overcomplicate the dish! Emelia's and Laura's dishes both looked and sounded amazing! I don't understand why nobody every acknowledges that Callum won the series of All-Stars they did for charity that he won! Just have to sit her now with my fingers crossed for the Emelia and Callum final I really want to see!
  2. I totally agree! It was really sad to watch them both cook killer dishes they knew wouldn't beat BlastChillerBoi (TM Katisha!). Wasn't he lucky that the MC kitchen had wing moulds for tuille in several sizes!!!! Almost like they knew he would need something that specific! I am really annoyed that the tongue licking promo from last night wasn't a misdirect. Actually, I'm more annoyed that given the challenge Callum and Laura both made super delicious looking dishes that the judges loved and were nothing I've ever seen before and, as Katisha said of what Reynold made: Reynold even said several times it was his 'big gun' dish that he had been waiting to make. Best part of the night was Mel taking such a dainty bite of that fab looking crab snack Laura made (guess she saw the optics of her biting into the s'mores dish last night that should have put its maker into this cook). Off to prepare to cook chicken liver parfait for tomorrow - because I have not done so for years and am now wondering why!
  3. I agree - I also said the word 'penis' out loud before Reynold said it looked like a shit! Personally, I'm hoping the lovingly crafted, tongue bath promo for tomorrow is a misdirect! I also would not order a dessert that tasted like mushrooms! Even though I love mushrooms! Yay Callum!!!!! I am beside myself with joy that Callum made it through after everyone kept saying he had too many elements. His dish sounded amazing. Reece made a Magnum! Badly! I was also cranky at the beginning as he just took the entire bowl of macadamias - too bad if anyone else wanted any! I really wish Emelia had been top three instead of Reynold!
  4. I completely agree! Tart Boy needs to go and we need to see more Callum goodness!!
  5. How on earth does Reynold have overcooked quail with all that blood on the cutting board??? That was a strange episode and I am still bummed that Callum wasn't cooking for immunity. I think Poh got the more difficult ingredients and did her best. I also think that given the amount of vanilla we were shown Laura adding at every step I am baffled they couldn't taste it! Unless it was so much that it all starts to taste a bit weird and not at all vanilla! Roll on elimination!
  6. I came in to comment that 'Reece made yet another tart! Surprise! So over Reece just making a tart (good or bad) and getting raves! Finally, tonight it didn't happen! I think Callum was cheated - he made a brand new inovative dish and Reynold 'dumbed down' a dish they make in his restaurant and he wins! Not good enough!
  7. It was the scene! I rewatched the 'Crisis' shows over the weekend as I couldn't remember all the different 'earths' they showed and it was the exact scene! Such fun!
  8. I'm a bit peeved that the last couple of weeks have all been about how 'AMAZING' Reece is! His tart the other day was lumpy, and lopsided and he should not have been given kudos for that! I actually think Callum had the harder cook and should have immunity!
  9. I yelled so loudly I woke both dogs (who were at the bottom of the yard) and my husband! So excited Callum won - I'd eat his G&T dessert in a heartbeat! I would also eat his toastie over the other two! Will be interested to see who goes home on Sunday - even though I quite like most of them (I still hope it isn't Simon, Poh, Emilia, Sarah T or Khanh!) But so, so happy Callum won tonight!
  10. I agree! The thought of putting meat/fish into a dessert is disgusting! One of those 'just because we can' things! At least it is only for immunity (and nobody is going home over this nonsense!!!!),
  11. My fingers are red from crossing them and then I woke up hubby and the dogs when I yelled when Callum won! I don't think they are showing his huge potential in the editing!
  12. Still can't work out if Sunday is last week or this week! There were so many lesser cooks on the gantry than Jess! Although I am happy Simon was safe. I just want to eat Poh's dish! .... and possibly a modified version of Brendan's as I don't like chilli! Why on earth did Jess pick Carrot and Raspberries?????? So many of those ice cream flavours were just WRONG!!!! Then at the very end of the show with what we have to look forward to Gordon is back - Yay!!
  13. Well that was just bloody sad - and several cooks who should have gone home were on the gantry!
  14. I don't go on the FB page for this very reason - it is full of sad, angry people who can only spew hate! Tonight's episode had me wishing Emilia had been given her photo as well - I would have loved to have seen it! This was one of those weird challenges that I would have liked to have eaten all the food. I really want to try Dan Dan Noodles (as both looked amazing tonight) but I simply CANNOT eat chilli in any way, shape or form! I've had Congee in the past and not been a fan (maybe it was a bad version - seemed a bit watery an insipid every time) but perhaps it just needed fried doughnuts!!! The food tonight all looked rather delicious - super happy they added a 5th person and Kahn made it! Reece's 'victoria sponge' looked a bit nice too!
  15. Very true - although her desserts have sooooo many steps they all look delicious! I agree that Emilia looked like the winner from the outset - but was happy with that. I DO NOT understand why Simon didn't simply 'glue' back together his broken sphere (the one that actually looked like a watermelon) as it broke along the glued together seam! Not that it would have made him the winner. Mel's earrings tonight were a bit mad! Very pink and HUGE!!! Emilia's fake freak out at that point was the funniest part of the episode! Whilst it was nice to see nobody go home over this Pressure Test - if only one goes home Sunday then we are back to odd numbers for any team challenges. Or are team challenges gone due to the virus? Didn't one of the Master Classes show how to do this with string? That seemed super quick? If so Sarah forgot that class! Or maybe it was a dream I had!
  16. I forgot to mention how well Emilia did in her part of the relay!
  17. Was a relay challenge and some chefs really didn't meet the brief! So many silly mistakes by some of my favourites (looking at you Khan with the 900 hour octopus hibachi cooking). Jess tried her best, Poh cut off part of her finger, Laura didn't cook pasta and Reynold fucked up a pannacotta! But I was pleased the green team won! Well done Brendan swapping out the protein at the end to make a dish that could win!
  18. I agree Katisha - that was so difficult to watch. Must admit I had all fingers and toes crossed for Sarah T and Simon to be OK! Some of those boxes were REALLY thick - and yet it wasn't mentioned - bit weird. However, that desert looked amazing and one that I would totally order (if only for the mandarin!). Where were Reynold and Jess? Only 5 people on the gantry. I do wish they would say why someone isn't there - if only so I don't spend the whole damn episode looking for them!
  19. I am fairly certain I would react like that if Nigella Lawson walked into a room I was in!
  20. I agree Katisha - either of them could have gone home and I wouldn't have cried! Although Sarah's wings looked soggy in the first round and, apart from the second round dish looking weird, she should have been sent home just for calling her dish Ta Ta! Does anyone think we will ever find out what Icecream Ben was arrested for? Also hanging out for when they finally all stop hugging and kissing and we see what the Covid twist has meant for our favourite kitchen!
  21. I was torn, until I decided it was entirely fair that they just do whatever they could to incorporate the 'surprise twist' ingredients. I may also be swayed by the fact I want to eat every single top 5 dish I saw tonight! Also, Go Simon!!!! Some sort of 'unborn child' twist I think! Wrote a whole paragraph, decided people might think it was bad taste so deleted it! Just sitting here willing a giant box of those lush figs to turn up to my house!
  22. I saw that and was so horrified that it was Simon that did it I went back and rewatched it. After Sarah tastes it he actually flips the spoon around and dips the back end into the sauce before he tastes it. It is really quick though! I didn't bother rewatching Reynold!
  23. I am over 'Twist' week already! To give them a hideously complex and technical dessert pressure test and then just take away the recipe with and hour to go makes no sense whatsoever! As (I think) Reynold pointed out baking is all about times, temperatures and measurements and to finish of an hours worth of the cook without any of those details was just stupid! Preview for tomorrow shows a new ingredient/s being thrown into the mystery box challenge which seems a bit fairer (unless you are cooking a dessert and are give octopus or prawns or something) and HAVE to use it! Sorry to see Amina go - she was lovely (even though I think she only came 11th in her season) but she was never going to win a technical, dessert pressure test - especially without the recipe! The lighting this year is weird. At the start it looked like Andy had a giant love bite on his neck and at the end when the contestants who had not been in the pressure test were standing off to the side it seriously looked like Elise (sp?) was wearing flesh coloured knee high socks! Roll on the end of the week and the end of stupid 'twists'!!!!
  24. I agree! Plus his plated dish for the judges was bloody tiny and not in the slightest like anything Mel got! I too was really hoping to see this! Something super warm and snuggly! As for tonight's episode - I really don't understand why Pho insisted on being captain when Callum had already said that is what he did every day. I also don't understand why they couldn't incorporate the choux buns - which looked amazing! They should have, also, ditched the sauce that wasn't working!
  25. You are so right Katisha! That was a challenge and a half! For one glorious second there I thought they were going to give them all immunity! But no! As a passionate lover of Bulgogi (and a tragic that keeps trying to make it herself) I'm just pleased Amina won - purely due to bulgogi goodness! I noticed Chris had no hat again tonight - but the preview for Sunday has the hat back again! PS: Mel is the most elegant eater I have ever seen! PPS: I want to know where to buy her 'Sun Kissed' sun hat from last night!
