Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
Ananayel replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
Since Grodner apparently just pulled this out of her ass (if it was part of the TA concept it should have been disclosed to all, and early, not when one was finally in danger at the hands of the other,) I am now Team Anyone-But-Derrick-or-Frankie. Suck it Grodner. Go Victoria! -
Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
Ananayel replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
What Fucking Grodner should have done, since TA was supposed to be "in an alliance" with America, was tell all three of them very early that, if they were the final three, then each one got a bonus equal to double whatever TA cash they had earned all season. Derrick's greed and overwhelming need to stuff food in his daughter's mouth would have meant that he decreed that TA actual be a real, secret alliance, instead of a whimsical way for select hamsters to earn extra cash/Fucking Grodner to reward her pets. This blows. If it's true, it's disgusting. -

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
Ananayel replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
My dream is that Caleb puts up Derrick and Victoria, saying that he wants to make sure Victoria goes, and Derrick might flip and be a vote for her to stay, forcing him to break the tie and get blood on his hands. If he knows about their "fight" he can say he's afraid Derrick would throw her a vote to try and patch things up, and he dadgum can't be havin' that. Then Frankie or Caleb wins Veto, leaves things the same, and even if Cody votes to keep Derrick, Caleb can break the tie and send Derrick home. Then Frankie is still there to be a target, if Frankie gets evicted it will be on a live show, and Caleb has a feather for his jury speech cap. It does still leave Frankie there and he's dangerous, but he could be loyal to Caleb if Derrick is out and Caleb kept him safe. But that will never ever happen. I've gone from anyone but Frankie to anyone but Derrick. That's how bad this season is. -
Christine went around behind Donny's back and called him a disgusting pervert to anyone who would listen. If he wants to make a divorce crack to her face, based on her actual behavior, that she was warned multiple times about how it was going to come off on camera, he can do that all day long as far as I'm concerned. I like snarky Donny, and it makes him a real person and not the aww shucks I'm just fresh off the train from Mayberry stereotype. Granted, he knew that was his role on the show and played into it, and it's not wholly untrue, but I doubt that's the entirety of his personality.

Nick is branching out into production, much like Zak did with Paranormal Challenge (which he also hosted) and Paranormal Paparazzi. He has a new show he produced debuting in October on Destination America.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
Ananayel replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
I think part of why they didn't cast any credible opponents for Derrick is the need to differentiate this season from last season. This year, they'll probably get a decent family man as a winner, instead of a horrible troll in Garanimals. However, surely they could have found another decent person with somewhat the same skill set as Derrick, to make it an actual horserace. Bonus points if it's a woman. A woman with some skills could have rallied a female alliance, even with the group of dunderheads in this current cast. That would have been an exciting game, watching things actually be fought for, people changing sides, two times the manipulation. But I do think that they asked them if they would rather win the money, be famous, or be loved, and only Derrick actually answered that he wanted to win the money. Frankie, Caleb, Zach, possibly Paola chose famous, maybe Amber, and the rest chose be loved. Just one other person actually hungry for the money and this would be a different season. -
S16.E32: Live Eviction #12 & #13 / HoH Comp #13
Ananayel replied to Tara Ariano's topic in Past Seasons
IIRC, the audience when Aaryn was evicted was pretty well stacked with people who were connected with the show in some way and could be counted upon to not erupt in a deafening chorus of boos. I don't think TPTB were prepared for Christine to get them, and so didn't take the same precautions. If Frankie had been the second eviction, he likely would have gotten the same thing. I have to say I didn't feel one bit sorry for her. And it was the one actual unscripted and unexpected thing to happen all damn summer. -
Good point, since they're doing what, three seasons a year now? Maybe every other season. And, back to monsters next week. Sigh.

That was a delight to watch. One of these every season, please. Glenn - big, tough, tattooed Glenn - has two kitties that are the center of his world? He can sculpt his facial hair any way he likes in my book from now on. I called the winner in my head, even though I spotted a few application problems. It was the best concept. And I like the voting, and how the assistants got to vote as well. Just a lovely show.

Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out

Yeah, ratings are the ONLY thing that matters, not change.org petitions, twitter campaigns, TMZ outrage, viewer backlash, none of it. Only ratings. Hopefully this is a wakeup call for Grodner the Incompetent. Too late to save this season, but could lead to change next season if it continues. -
Season 16 Live Feed Discussion: Keeping an Eye Out
Ananayel replied to Stinger97's topic in Past Seasons
At least he got Derrick's name in there, and it seems like Derrick is hiding behind Frankie's natural showoffitude and inyourfacery, given that others have just said "Frankie" when asked that question. -
I'm probably a bad person, but I had no emotion whatsoever at Derrick's family segment tears. If being there for those moments was so important, he shouldn't have come on a show that takes him away for three months. And if he needs to be on a reality show to get some cash, because a steady job with benefits isn't good enough, then go for one like Survivor (shorter time away, greater prize money,) or Amazing Race (shorter time away,) or heck, try Wheel of Fortune for crying out loud. He put himself in that situation, with no guarantee it would even pay off. It also felt gratuitous, like the show is trying to balance out that fact that he's lying directly to us in his DRs, when he has no reason to, and they need to prop up his eventual, inevitable, boring as hell win. And with that, I'm out. Thirteen seasons, and this is the one that broke me. There's no one left that I care enough for in a positive way to root them on for the win, and no one left that I care enough for in a negative way to root against them. The rest of the season will almost certainly play out in a completely predictable fashion, as everyone just lines up to hand Derrick the win, I'll still check in here, because the boards are better than the show, but at least I get three hours of my life back

I don't know why Derrick isn't on board with saving Donny. At this point, Donny can be considered to be "after" everyone in the house, but if Derrick saved him, Derrick can use Donny to take out the others without getting "blood on his hands." -

Knowing the voter order would help. And if I thought it would work, I'd even watch the show. But the only reason I'd planned be watching at all just for the eviction bit, and only to hear the cheers when Donny left, and see the expression on that sparkly turd Frankie's face when he hears it. Otherwise, I didn't watch Sunday, didn't watch last night, and am probably out for the rest of the season. -

But how? They'd have to be able to tell a third person to change their vote at literally the very last second, and be sure that person would do it, and all of that would send up red flags (though, this bunch is really stupid, so maybe not.) The only way it would work is if Julie gave them the code word right at the top of the broadcast, and then they somehow get to mingle or something during the commercial break. -

Is it possible there's still a chance to switch the vote? Like perhaps the DR has heavily hinted they failed the mission, and there's a chance to redeem themselves by going with Donny's idea? Because they only need 3 votes, right? Frankie, Derrick, and if Victoria decides now is the time to do what she wants instead of what Derrick tells her, just tell Christine that for sure, Nicole is coming after her, and also Cody is flirting with Nicole now. Done. I guess I just don't see Nicole as being that much better than Donny about stirring things up. -
Welcome Back, Kotter - General Discussion
Ananayel replied to David T. Cole's topic in Welcome Back, Kotter
According to Zap2It, MeTv is starting over, airing the pilot tonight. I know their schedule will be changing soon, like it does every few months, so I don't know if it will stay in that slot or go into retirement for a bit, but it should be a nice palette cleanser, after the lame nonsense that was the final season. -
So, if Frankie's going to "lose it" if they fail, and Julie uses a code word to tell them during the live show, won't everyone wonder why Frankie suddenly and randomly loses it?

I actually registed and voted all 20 against. I was going to have to do it anyway to powervote for America's Favorite if there is one, so I guess I just got it out of the way early. I may even see if I can scrounge up my long dormant Twitter password and try that. I just want to see Frankie's face when he hears they didn't win. I don't care how he rationalizes it later, I just want to see that instant flash of realization before the talking starts. Sorry, Donny. -

Yeah, as soon as Derrick realized he couldn't snow Donny like he could everyone else, the writing was on the wall. If Grodner really wanted TA to be a thing, she should have dangled an extra, large-ish cash bonus if all three of them made F4, on top of whatever else they might win or earn from TA missions (1st, 2nd, or if there's America's Favorite.) Derrick would have jumped at the chance to put an extra $20K of food in his daughter's mouth. -
Big Brother Universe: Fashion, Casting, Comps, etc.
Ananayel replied to dolphincorn's topic in Big Brother
I like that idea, but I'd make it HOH noms 2, America noms 1. Grodner wants us involved really really badly, and there's no way feed watchers would have let Christine, Frankie or Derrick slide as long as they did without their backsides tasting the nominee chairs. -

He can't really have tried very hard though. There are still nearly two full days until the vote, and why couldn't he get Christine on board by saying he's heard Nicole would "come after" her all vengeance-like, whereas Donny would be after Derrick/Cody or Caleb/Cody, since they are the ones who put him up. I mean, I know Christine wouldn't want to lose her scratching post, but surely even someone as profoundly stupid as she is must know she's got no chance against Cody. -
My vote goes to "the producers are profoundly stupid."

Season 10! Episodes return October 4. They were filming in Ireland recently, and that will be the two-hour Halloween special.
