I have heard that a lot of people are going to have to reinstall AC systems in their homes and cars because the federal government banned Freon and the current systems cannot use a different coolant. They have stopped manufacturing Freon and the remaining stock has shot up in price. We may see folks on fixed incomes doing without AC for a while in the future. Imagine being retired in the Sun belt on a modest income and suddenly you have to buy a new household unit.
