  1. The EP said it was J falling in love with his mark so you take aligns. I personally didn't see the in love part but I did see it as conflicted feelings when he cried over her body. Same. They were all hardened and cold blooded to various degrees by the life. With J, he let his hate for what his mother had become fester and drive him to his pyrrhic victory. I also got why he was so angry at all his uncles for erasing Julia from their thoughts even once they became adults and made some of their own choices. Again, I always think about that S1 birthday party for Pope when J had to remind them all it was also his mother's birthday cause it was like "Julia who?" for them. The only character I saw as any type of sociopath was Smurf. She was also a raging narcissist.
  2. I like both DVD and Harper, flaws + all, but I'm not enjoying their sexual interactions. Their talk on their respective origins was good but as soon as they hooked up, I lost interest. I don't really see sexual chemistry between them plus it also seemed inexplicably shoehorned in to make them have sex suddenly cause while DVD has shown interest in Harper, I didn't see genuine interest from her (not to mention it's a bad idea since he's her supervisor). Pass on the "romance" but more of their origins & working in finance while Black talks, please. I'd like to think Harper shutting DVD down on the elevator when he asked her if she slept with someone else has put the kibbosh on further hook ups with them. I did work in finance in my 20s at a big company and while most of the sellers were arrogant assholes, it wasn't constant sex and drugs though there was lots and lots of alcohol (+ some alcoholics). I admit things did get a bit frisky at times between us younger folks due to the liquor and apparently one of the interns was the sugar baby of a seller but nothing really too wild like stories from the 1980s on Wall Street. 😉 I know the show is an exaggeration but sometimes it does feel like they use graphic sex a bit too much in the place of regular dialogue in a general conversation between characters so I just end up fast-forwarding over the long sex scenes. I thought 2x05 was good with all the family drama but particularly the stuff with Harper & JD and Roberts Jr & Sr.
  3. I think the talk Rob & Yasmin had in 2x03 when she came over "to see Harper" & tried to use him so she could feel some power in her life and he ultimately rebuffed her by calling her an intoxicant then bringing up their class differences ended whatever that took up time in most of S1 (thank God). I've always felt that while Rob wanted Yasmin for most of S1, cause that situationship was addiction for him as well, it was dying out by the time the first season came to a close and his bond with Harper became much stronger. This season, I haven't seen any flirting between Rob & Yasmin aside from Yasmin trying to come on to him that one night. Rob hasn't been seeking Yasmin out this season for flirting or sex or even really just to talk shop. Then again, I've always thought Yasmin didn't actually want or even really like Rob, but that she just wanted power over him cause she felt so powerless in other facets of her life and Rob's addiction issues made him easy prey (for lack of a better word) for her to ensnare in her power games. When Yasmin came over in 2x04 while Gus, Rob, and Harper were hanging out, Rob couldn't wait to escape to his room even though Harper asked him to stay while Yasmin was there to unload her feelings. I just don't see that situationship between Rob and Yasmin that was pervasive in S1 truly existing anywhere in S2. They seemed to have both moved on other than that one attempt from Yasmin that Rob said nah to.
  4. I enjoyed the finale. Not perfect but it went by quickly. Only thing I was hoping would happen but didn't was an Adrian appearance. J was all about getting revenge for his mother as he told Pope in the pool scene. I didn't think he would take Penny out that coldly but I knew she wasn't going to join him one way or another. J didn't get a happy ending unless his HEA was solely the decimation of his family for how they treated Julia but HEA was never truly in the cards for J even with the success of his plan. Craig getting Omar'd as his exit. Deran holding him on the cliff as he died was well done and a tearjerker. Deran promising to help Renn and to raise Nick like his own son was 😢. Pope burning down the house was fitting too. Too much bad stuff and memories there. Pope dying as the house burns down worked for me too. He let J go cause of his own get of not being strong enough and going with Julia instead of choosing Smurf. Smurf really was an irredeemable monster. As soon as she saw Julia and Pope bonding over the baby, she dropped Julia back off in the drug den. I may need to go watch J kill Smurf again after how vile she was towards Julia in the car. Baz's brief appearance wasn't much better. TPTB obviously changed the timeline to make her younger with her pregnancy to make Baz the definite dad of J (even tho the show had Smurf IIRC kinda confirm it already I think in S3). I do wish we'd gotten one more ep if only to explain how Smurf ended up putting Julia in an apartment and paying her rent / utilities til the days Julia OD'd.
  5. Didn't Craig kill a few folks who kidnapped Nick?
  6. IIRC, they're both 29. Jared & Kat and Tyler & Serenti have respectively been posting hanging out post-Villa. Someone told me Mady & Andy have too but I haven't seen anything firsthand. Supposedly Courtney mentioned in an interview that she & Bryce are DMing each other.
  7. My comment was about J's perspective in why he is ok screwing them over. All he sees is his mother's family let her down and didn't care. The head of the snake is Smurf but the others didn't exactly shed any tears about her either from what we saw onscreen. Maybe Pope some initially. Remember J had to even remind them all during Pope's birthday party in S1 that it was his mother's birthday too cause they all had basically erased Julia years ago.
  8. J visiting the cemetery at the beginning of the ep. We start with him staring at Baz's headstone before moving on to Julia's headstone to stare at it (which, beloved daughter only... which was a lie cause we've seen how little Smurf thought of Julia... but no mention about beloved mother or beloved sister. Of course Smurf made Julia's headstone about Smurf). J didn't even pause walking by Smurf's headstone. I know he sleeps like a baby after killing her.
  9. We? Also watching how Smurf destroyed Julia and Pope in these flashbacks, I only wish she had suffered much more before J took her out. I thought they hadn't seen J since he was a toddler so they knew of him and maybe spent some time with him when he was an infant but that seemed to be it. At this point with the flashbacks, I'm hoping the show will end with J's birth in kind of a full circle of things. J taking the money from Deran, Craig, and Pope... I feel kinda bad for them but I also see where J is coming from that it's not like they did anything to help when they were adults.
  10. I'm always going to root for the Black women on dating shows cause there's so much misogynoir at play in these shows so Zeta has my full support. I also like Deb although I wish she had a stronger backbone about Jesse. Sydney is eh... I don't like or dislike her but I wish she would cry less and be less aggressive in her lipstick / lip gloss choices. Mady and Courtney are just there; not adding to the show but not detracting either. I find Jared really hot tho him being another guy just wanting any blonde made me RME (and I say that as a blonde). Outside of Jared, the guys are meh to bleh for me.
  11. I thought so too until the ladies brought up how weird his speech was and that they were shocked when he ended it picking Kat cause it didn't mesh with what he was saying as it sounded like he was talking about Sereniti. I didn't think Sereniti was in to Chazz, especially after some of his really immature answers during Perfect Match, but I didn't like the way he went about things the day of the recoupling. Chazz was making his own side of the bed & cooking Kat breakfast then later reassuring Sereniti that he was invested in her. Too bad Jeff didn't pick Sereniti over Nadjha cause Nadjha already crying over wanting Isaiah and I don't understand that at all. I did enjoy Sereniti's goodbye handshake and parting words to Chazz. I don't think Kat is really in to Chazz either but he was a gullible way in to the villa for her to now focus on Isaiah or any casa amor guy. I like this turnabout for Chazz.
  12. Clark really took Jordan to the Fortress and left Jonathan to do all the chores alone. 😒 Clark's favoritism between his sons this season has been almost as annoying as Jordan's one-track mind about Sarah.
  13. Oh, and Danie posted on IG that she's pregnant: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CeT9Yx7phQj/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y%3D 😊 There's a SPACES interview with Lincoln on what played out:
  14. I got busy but caught up with the last two eps of the show. Meh on the ending though I know when Lincoln left that Danny B was going to win cause her feelings for him were the next strongest that we were shown IMO. I liked Jesse and Christian but her feelings for them just weren't as strong. Anywho, update! The Courtship's Nicole Remy Reveals Daniel Bochicchio Called Off Their Engagement
  15. My eyes were as dry over Frost's death as the remaining characters' eyes. I don't think Frost added much to the show so I won't miss her and I hope the lack of stretching with two characters will improve DP's delivery.
  16. I think Nicole is caught up in who she feels the most chemistry with and those who are left are the ones I think have been obvious she's been feeling from the beginning*. I don't agree with all of her choices if it were for me but for her? She's choosing who floats her boat I'm still mostly fine with the presentation of things. I do think she's been a little too pressed on the proposal part instead of just getting a relationship out of it. I also think there's a lot of weird editing that cuts out more things that we should be seeing. I'm good with Nicole (she's always going to get my support as a Black women lead), I enjoy the court especially her parents though I did wonder where Mr. Edwards went for the longest time as he seemed much more present in the first few eps. I don't feel badly for Mr. Bochicchio that Nicole kept Mr. Chapman... I've been meh on him since he interrupted that formal dinner. (and if he apologized to anyone, I don't recall it being shown or discussed). Bochicchio is not there to make friends in his pursuit of Nicole, which he is proud of and has admitted to several times. 🤷🏼‍♀️ His face cracked over Mr. Chapman not being dismissed cause he considers Chapman his biggest competition so his staying pushes Bochicchio to the side. IMO he hoped that the regency spa date put him in first place and that moment showed it did not. *Nazaire is obviously a producer plant that I hope leaves in ep 1x10 cause he's not adding anything. I also think Cones is the BFF who makes her feel good that she enjoys so that's why he's around but he's not a romantic frontrunner for her.
  17. I don't think Nicole has been flaky about the process. IMO she's been pretty consistent in both the process with what she wants and on her top suitor choices. If there are issues with the presentation of either, it's with the editing by producers. Like, I remember how her parents expressed how much they liked Mr. Castronovo and saw him as a strong pick for Nicole but viewers barely saw him with Nicole or the court nor got why her parents felt that way. Obviously there's a lot filmed that's being left on the cutting floor at the discretion of producers. I think it's clear who her top picks are as well.
  18. Evergreen comment IMO. Otherwise, I am still totally enjoying the show.
  19. I am not salty at Chapman's wobbling. I wish he'd get it together but things wouldn't have even gone down as they did if Nazaire hadn't told Nicole in order during their 1:1 to get Chapman out of the game. I think along with Bochicchio, Nazaire sees Chapman as his biggest competition when it comes to "winning." Nazaire has shown us already that he's weasely and that he's fine with sabotaging another suitor *waves to the recently departed Mumbray* If anyone has blinded Nicole with a love bomb, it's Nazaire cause I don't actually see why he's so high in her favor when he's only been there for such a short time. I can see why she likes and has kept the other 4 suitors but I'm at a loss with Nazaire (even with the shallow level that he's pretty... his ridiculous ego cancels that out AFAIC). Not to mention Nazaire being on Made in Chelsea currently chasing another woman. I know Mrs. Remy was sad to see Mr. Hunter go cause that was her favorite but she knew it was coming. His not wanting to or not being able to open up was the death knell of his pursuit. Judge has kind of faded into the background which has been a surprise. I had Judge in my frontrunner pool with Chapman + Bochicchio since his arrival but he's gone quiet and moved down to the B team for me. The spa date with Bochicchio lacked sparks to me despite the level of intimacy. They had a decent talk and all but it just left me meh watching them. I like Mr. Cones but he's so in the friend zone with Nicole IMO. I enjoy their relationship cause they're able to talk to each other so easily plus he makes Nicole laugh but I just do not see a whiff of romantic sparks between them. I wish the physical challenge had gone on longer as I appreciated that on a shallow level. I wouldn't have minded Mr. Edwards joining in on that challenge either. 😏
  20. I hate that Mr. Nazaire is still there. He should have been one of the suitors that exited tonight. Not only because he's pretentious and an obvious producer plant but also cause I don't really see any sparks between him & Nicole. Him giving that toast in French was pretentious and tired. I liked Mr. Mumbray and Mr. Holland even though I knew they were not frontrunners. Disappointed to see them leave but not surprised. Good to see Mr. Cones open up about himself and his sexuality. I think he & Nicole have great convos as I recall their convo about the misogynoir dating issues in high school she suffered through but their vibe to me is still more platonic than romantic. They enjoy each other's company and I can see them being great friends after this is over but I don't think she romantically sparks with him any more than she did Mr. Holland and Mr. Mumbray. Time will tell, though. Mr. Chapman... I buy that he's developed feelings for Nicole and now he's scared / nervous due to them. Not surprising with his van life situation and his admitting in the ep a few times about his fears like in the convo with Dom. I don't think he's scared of the whole falling in love aspect but more the mandated proposal followed by rushing a white picket fence. I would like to think the show wouldn't spoil his exit a week in advance. Also, there's still that carousel date shown in a promo that they've not gone on so I feel like his exit next week is a fake out of some sort. At least I hope it is as I also caught the bungled timing of promo showing Nicole & Mr. Chapman talking before the farewell dancing started so who knows. 😬 Nice to see Mr. Hunter step up though he's not ready to spill all his secrets quickly. That's fair as not everyone is quick to talk about their emotions or intimate history. Mama Remy is a sniper. Also, lol at Nicole mentioning the guys look like Elmer Fudd in their shooting outfits. This episode was definitely better than last week's episode re: the entertainment factor.
  21. Nicole whittled them down more quickly in the beginning with 2 per ep. I didn't mind the switch to 1 exit a week if it meant seeing more connections between Nicole & the dwindling remaining suitors being shown to viewers. I'm only getting a connection vibe for Nicoel with a few of the suitors, mainly Judge, Bochicchio, and Chapman. There seems to be a lot of stuff being left on the editing floor since the court seems to have favorites and the original suitors seemed to have bonded well. (the high fives and hugs at the farewell dance in ep 1x07 were amusing). I don't like the addition of a new suitor in Mr. Nazaire cause it was unnecessary and especially not under obviously false pretenses.
  22. IA that the editing is keeping it a guessing game but IMO the frontrunners are Mr. Judge, Mr. Bochicchio, and Mr. Chapman. 🗳 I am not finding things too slow overall but this episode didn't do much that was interesting. It was easily the weakest of the series to me. Someone notified me recently that my vibe on Mr. Nazaire being smarmy & practiced has some support to it going off of him being on another reality show currently called Made in Chelsea: So if Mr. Nazaire is only there because the producers thought it would stir up drama and excitement, then they failed cause the show was doing fine without adding someone else for no good reason. I hope he's the next to exit.
