  1. I have the feeling we aren't gonna get a neat, clean ending. No spoilers. Just that's how life is.
  2. And I did love getting to see Roman practice his speech perfectly. It was a very good speech. Also I know he is terrible but mocking a person for having sincere feelings at a funeral is low. I am referring to the video. I know he is reaping what he has sown but the people mocking him are no better.
  3. My money is on Gerri. She's tough, knows all the players, and is female. Or Rhea but that would be a weird callback two seasons later. My favorite moment-Frank and Karl lying to Shiv. And then checking in with each other. Oh and Jess walking away! Go Jess. Run. I still hate Roman but Kieran got to me. He dug deep. That all felt so painfully real. I know that feeling of not wanting to believe your parent is in a box.
  4. Also a nice reminder that smart people work around Logan. He did not hire fools. Gerri, Karolina, even Hugo, are all extremely competent. Marcia and Caroline are also sharp. Logan never wanted idiots around him. Frank is my favorite with his classical education and elegance. You can see how he smoothed things over for Logan. Jessie Armstrong does not seem like a prequel guy or a franchise building guy, but seeing Logan create his empire would be amazing. I honestly wouldn't mind a novel.
  5. I don't recall that episode. That is sad although I feel like that have been more of a writing room "bit". Greg never gets to eat on Thanksgiving. How funny. More than him being too poor to eat.
  6. Greg never seemed broke to me. He seemed like a weed smoking college graduate who was aimless. But he also didn't seem like he knew that potentially $250 million was coming his way. He didn't act that way is what I mean but I have to wonder now about all his interactions with a real up and comer like Tom. I assume Tom was upper middle class in the Midwest but not multimillionaire rich. Tom might be annoying and snobbish but he did scramble his way up. Greg can be so bumbling because he has a massive safety net.
  7. He learned how to kiss ass from Tom but he is so much better at it. Also, unlike Tom, Greg used to know he had $250 million coming to him. Depending on his lawsuit regarding Greenpeace, he may still have money coming. He has grown up knowing he would be unreasonably wealthy. Tom did not. So it is a bit funny Tom has mentored Greg on "being rich". Greg has such a thick skin. Yes he is nervous around Logan and his grandfather but he always pushes through. I really don't know what to make of him. But he doesn't seem focused enough to win it all.
  8. I agree with you and yet I give them kudos for taking a big swing. And it isn't boring!
  9. Kieran mentioned liking this too. Playing grief stricken sounds like it was hard for him. The performance is great but he said it was hard to switch gears. So yes, Roman was horribly on the ball tonight.
  10. I don't recall that she did. Tom. She said it to Tom when he insisted on the brothers deciding. I think it is interesting that the show is being very clear Menken is a fascist creep. Usually it has more a more nuanced look at the power brokers. But Menken has only been presented as evil and bad. Even Gil had shades of gray and could cut a deal. It's like Armstrong wants it clear Roman and Kendall are on the wrong side of history.
  11. I feel like Ken has burnt more bridges and yet the doors keep opening up for him. Maybe Shiv turns to Pierce? Maybe. She has no friends or allies seemingly. I will give her credit for never ever trying charm. None of the Roy kids have charm.
  12. I think the most frustrating finale was Ken's press conference because ultimately nothing happened. But I do want something with impact. The third season finale will always be that image of Tom through the doorway. Of Caroline's fake apologetic voice. Shiv's fury. Yeah, season 3 was so good!
  13. Part of me wonders if the opening credits give it away. The last two images. Logan with his family then Logan facing Stewy, Geri, maybe Frank. Maybe Stewy for the win?
  14. I suppose that is one of the arguments in the show. Roman saying nothing matters and Shiv saying not true. Something matters but she can't express what exactly. The future? Her baby? The "process" of fair elections. Calling him Rome right then was striking for me because empires do fall. Cities fall. Someday NYC may fall. Connor may sound silly but his initial gut impulse to be a gracious loser, however brief, was nice to see. I will miss Alan Ruck in this role. I hope he goes on to something great because he clearly has the chops to carry a VEEP-like satire. Or get him on Season 2 of The Diplomat.
  15. I think it was one of Tom's most candid moments in the whole ep. The rest was performance or fear driven. Have we seen Tom do coke before? It didn't feel surprising but he also seems so cautious about such things.
  16. Neat! I think it was Ken walking in from the dark hallway into the light that made me think of it. Plus his dark eyes and hair. And maybe how he thinks he can keep his family separate from his professional actions. But I don't know The Godfather that well. It was more a vibe for me.
  17. I can. Her timing was bad. How she told him was bad. And it WAS a play, even if it is true she was pregnant. What I can't believe is she would fake a call to Nate. That seemed like bad writing for this show. But she is off her game a bit. Kendall feels more and more like Michael Corleone. He wants to be good but the world pushes him one way and he's good at being evil. Although he did have a reason to be angry with her.
  18. That was all so depressing. And Roman just jumped the shark for me as a character. I am not sure how I could ever root for him again. The only real people to him are his family. He has been awful before but there seemed to be growth. Not any more. He needs to be neutralized. Not killed just taken away from power. When I think about it, had Logan been Shiv, Greg would have been removed from that building. A task or errand far far away. The moment she knew he knew her business, gone. Leaving him alone was a huge mistake.
  19. What do you mean? She may have brought herself down. I guess she didn't scare Greg enough. Ug.
  20. In the US you just need to be born in the US and 35 years old and have a clean prison record to run for President. Truly that's it! And Connor does seem well read if not enlightened.
  21. Telling even friends can help. The pictures are obnoxious but definitely not enough alone to win her the day. We actually don't know if other people observed their weird work dynamic. Gerri seems careful but did someone over hear their sex talk? It's not totally impossible. What kind of sucks is that I don't think Roman's flirting was unwelcome until he sent the pics to his dad. And yes I will call it flirting before Logan died because they were on similar power footing. Different power! She had experience and institutional knowledge on her side. And her rep. He was the boss's son. And she was definitely the mentor. BTW has she ever mentored her god daughter Shiv? I thought it was weird Ken referred to Gerri that way. Is that how HE thinks of this experienced executive?
  22. I was rewatching because of course! And in the scene when Roman calls Connor a joke and Mattson and Ebba are sitting behind Connor, a little out of focus, Ebba is gently touching Mattson's leg and they seem physically cosy. Maybe she's calming him down or India is true and they're discussing because Mattson goes on the attack immediately. But for those of you who think Mattson & Co are playing them, I am starting to agree. Ebba looks so at ease until Ken makes eye contact and then she looks nervous. But why? Because she spilled India or because she lied about India to Ken? Mattson also makes sure a good portion of that room sees Roman flip out. I actually think Ken more or less held his own in that moment. Mattson tried to egg him on with gay comment but he handled it quickly (Logan would have scoffed). I just think Ken is relying too much on Ebba's story.
  23. About this I strongly disagree. I think it is embarrassing for her but since his behavior is the real problem any thinking person would be sympathetic. Logan's take was sexist and designed to shut her down. Same with Shiv. Granted Gerri probably doesn't want to end her run with stories about dick pics. But she's smart and can spin it. She can easily talk about how unprofessional Roman is at all times. There is so much evidence about him everywhere. A stunning amount. I don't know how he survives without his dad's rep to protect him.
  24. Moreover WILLA not wanting to live in Oman could save democracy! I love Willa. And Roman's lack of respect towards her pissed me off. She is legit now dude.
  25. Which was why it felt shocking when Steve Jobs died. He clearly used every resource he had to live. Murdock seems ready to live forever too.
