  1. You made exactly two posts in this thread and they may well be the two posts I most enjoyed this entire season. WTG! P.S. For anyone else wondering what "EGOT" means, I think it's "Emmy, Grammy, Oscar & Toni". Please excuse me if it's common knowledge and I was the only one who didn't know.
  2. I understand the way you feel. But as I said above: "I don't think it would be appropriate for me to post the line here in this forum. But maybe someone else here will feel that it's not a problem to post it here in this thread." You wouldn't want me to post it against my will and then later regret doing that. Would you?
  3. I accept you may be correct and if so ... I apologize to Mike and anyone I may have offended. The editing was somewhat to blame. As Mike was saying, "those two guys aren't going to start any kind of insurrection" and Alec (I think it was Alec) was laughing, the editors showed Davie and Carl sitting on the beach smiling and just enjoying themselves." I had to wonder what it was about that shot that would support the statement they wouldn't be able to start any kind of insurrection. I think David (especially) showed himself able to be a superb player and I hope he wins the whole thing. Can you suggest any reason why Mike was seemingly so certain they couldn't start any insurrection and why the editors chose to show us that shot of them? I'm not certain what it is, but it sure does feel like there is something unspoken going on. ETA: As far as Davie and Carl being "low-key" players go, between them (if I'm remembering correctly), they have found as many advantages or idols between them as everyone else combined. Mike never found squat though he got caught looking. Christian never found squat. So why would you consider them to be "low-key" players? If it's because they don't seem to be featured as much by the editors, I can agree with that. But I wouldn't call them "low-key" at all. I would say the truth is they are both better players than Mike because they don't actively try to get themselves voted out like Mike just did.
  4. She also demonstrated (to me) that she's actually kind of stupid. After Mike proposed voting out Christian, several Goliaths were sitting around and decided they should tell Christian they were voting out Angelina as a decoy. She asked, "But why don't we all just stay tight-lipped and say nothing?" It's not just that "stay tight-lipped" and "say nothing" both mean the same thing and it was redundant to say both things when she could have just said one. Although that is a clue. After she said that, several of the other Goliaths started speaking at once and tried to explain to her why that would be wrong. Some of you have been saying that she is not as clever as she thinks she is. Well .... she ain't clever - at all!
  5. Thank you Ms Blue Jay. I wanted to say that a lot of people here have been pretty hard on Angelina. But you have to give her credit for being flexible minded. In last night's episode, she said words to the effect: "The reward loss was Dan epitomized. He is being way too cocky and running his mouth. I can't wait for it all to catch up to him and bite him in the ass." But later at the TC she said: "Oh Dan is my Angel. You saved me Dan. I loved you Dan." I have always admired a woman woman who can be flexible minded. Even if she is a total fucking beach like Angelina.
  6. I enjoyed your post very much. I usually just skip very long posts after a quick skim. But yours was really excellent - good analysis, insightful and I agreed with almost everything you said and got a few chuckles too. But, who is "Chrissy"? LadyChatts posted earlier that Angelina was her new Chrissy. But you spoke of them as two separate people. It sounded like you were describing Angelina when you spoke of "Chrissy". I'm often confused.
  7. Wow! What a great post! I'm not at all sure that I understand what it means. But someone who writes like that could be another Shakespeare. Why have you not posted more? Please post more? Seriously. That is some fabulous writing. Aha! No wonder I didn't understand it. I've never seen Princess Bride. I'll have to go see it now. BBL.
  8. I would love to discuss this concept - of being really good at this game. Unfortunately, I suspect that what I would have to say will likely be either one sentence or more than 100 pages. I will try to say something extremely brief and maybe I'll have more to say if anyone else wants to discuss it. Maybe it would be good to start a new thread at what it takes to be really good at this game. For the most part, I think that studying every previous season and spending hours and hours learning and analyzing all the plot twists is not really very important. It's probably good to watch a few previous seasons but my basic premise is that the things that make you a really good player is about your skill at surviving in a group of hostile people. Christian has demonstrated that if he was really stranded on a desert island with a goup of people, he would be able to survive. The important skills involve finding a way to avoid making the other people want to kill him and cannibalize his corpse if their food runs out. I don't know what kind of name to give to this kind of skill. But it's not something that would be widely studied or have a name. But whatever it takes ... YES! .... Christian is extremely good at this game.
  9. Here is a link to a Wikipedia article explaining a little more about the movie "Chuck & Buck". It doesn't contain the exact offensive line of dialogue but it does offer a clue as to what to expect: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_%26_Buck
  10. I keep getting more and more angry about Mike the more I read what some of you have posted in the thread for Episode 8 (where John is voted out). I have been sitting on some info that I will now share with you about Mike White. One of the first movies he made in 2000 was called "Chuck and Buck". He wrote and starred in this movie. Some of you will strongly disagree with me. But I think this movie demonstrated a lot about his character. If you want to confirm just how big an asshole he really is, all you have to do is Fast Forward that movie until you are almost at the very end. I think it was the very last line spoken in that film (written by Mike White) or was very close to that. He wrote a line that IMHO was needlessly offensive and designed to shock the audience. I think there was a lot more to it than that and I found it to be pretty disgusting and offensive because it seemed to me it was written primarily for "shock effect". I can see that I'm having a very difficult time trying to explain my feelings about the line spoken in the movie. I can only suggest you get a copy of this movie and see for yourself. I don't think it would be appropriate for me to post the line here in this forum. But maybe someone else here will feel that it's not a problem to post it here in this thread. I promise you that no matter how you may feel about this particular line of dialogue he wrote, you will never forget it.
  11. I was about to post some vitriol about Mike White here but I realized it would be seriously off topic. I have been sitting on some info about Mike White that is not widely known. But for any of you who don't like him after his behavior in tonight's episode, I will post some info in his thread (if he has one) that I think many of you will find truly offensive because it is so needlessly ugly and stupid. OK. I posted it in his thread. http://forums.previously.tv/topic/73859-s37-mike-white/
  12. Would I be out of line for getting the feeling that he is aptly named and that he may be allowing his negative racial stereotypes to show? I feel like calling him a real bad name that I will put in a spoiler box so as not to offend you. Please don't look if you don't want to be offended by racial attitudes. But I suspect Mike
  13. You were certainly correct. But I am not really happy. It really angered me to see Angelina escape. I achieved maximum anger when she asked Dan, "Did you remember to tell him who it was for?" Oooh! I feel like cursing and swearing at her. Talk about micro-managing other people. What a beach! But switching to a happier topic. Did you see Gabby's ears when she took that bite of pizza? She was so happy that ... She started wiggling her ears and although you had to look carefully to see them, it was clearly visible. I was wondering if she got them to beating fast enough if she could take off and fly around the site. For an important addition to this message, see the spoiler box below. I promise I won't really be spoiling anything: When Mike was telling his tale about Christian, I kept hollering at the TV, "Hey! Do you hear what he is saying? Don't you realize it applies all the more to Mike than it does to Christian? This is the perfect opportunity to blindside Mike! BLINDSIDE MIKE! BLINDSIDE MIKE! BLINDSIDE MIKE! Sadly, they couldn't hear me. Sigh.
  14. Oh my gosh! I have not yet watched this episode. I am just now going to do that. But, before I do, I just wanted to say how much I love this forum. So, here goes: I LOVE THIS FORUM! I sure do hope y'all won't mind my enthusiasm busting out like this. I promise that I've not gone nuts. At least I hope not. I just believe this is the best user forum anywhere and that is entirely due to all of you. You people are the greatest!
  15. I haven't checked into this thread since Sunday. I guess I've grown accustomed to the fact that the action here seems to die down after Sunday. I know you are trying to knock Gabby for crying too much. But that's OK. I think it's very healthy for people to express their feelings - no matter whether they are feeling good or bad. If people don't express their feelings, they get all bottled up and then one day they look into a camera and scream, "I hate STUPID people!" Then they get voted out and most everyone claps and cheers. So, I will just continue to stand by my darling Gabby (she's mine - all mine) and I sincerely hope that after she is finished this season, she will go on to have herself a rich and rewarding life. I think she deserves that and .... I absolutely adore Gabby and I believe that I've said that before. I don't mind people making fun of my darling Gabby cuz she cries a lot. It's just her way of dealing with the heartlessness of the other contestants and the mindlessness of the Peachy Beach who insists on always running his big mouth during all the challenges. As far as all of you go? I wish you all nothing but the best and I hope you enjoy tonight's episode where - hopefully - the one person that we all seem to want to get voted out, will be leaving in the midst of maximum tears and humiliation. I can't speak her name cuz that would be a kind of spoiler. But, I'm pretty certain that most of us are on the same page. She is such a
  16. OK. Thank you much. I will give it a try. It may take me a while. But I will let you know.
  17. I must say that from the first day, Elizabeth just stuck out like a sore thumb. If you want to see something really bizarre, Google "Elizabeth exit interviews" and watch her face when she talks. She makes the strangest facial expressions. I kid you not! She kind of looks like a horse eating hay when she talked about getting voted out. Her jaw seems to expand and contract. I can't recall anyone since Jim Carrey who could make facial contortions like that.
  18. Someone recommended that I watch the Australian and South African versions. I just started Season 6 of the South African version. It took me quite some time to recognize they were speaking English. I forgot the deep Dutch heritage so many South Africans have. I suppose the heavy accents they are speaking are Dutch? At first glance, I saw some guy in a well tailored suit and tie and I thought, "There's the first boot". But then some lady started talking. In less than a minute, she told the audience, "This will be a piece of cake". I decided she will be the first boot. It's kind of wild to see how a different host and people from a different culture play this game. Funny how so much of the show is scripted the same as how Jeff speaks. I wonder if he is EP for every country or just the USA? Can anyone point me to any rules about spoilers or speculation or anything I need to be careful about? I guess I can't really spoil anything since Season 6 is all over now. After watching half of the episode, I could only understand about 30 percent of what was said. This may be more difficult than I realized. After finishing the first episode, I can't say anything negative about these people (both the contestants and the producers). But I just can't understand what they are saying and that makes it very hard to continue watching. I'm getting on in years and so my difficulty may not be the same for you. I would recommend you give one episode a try and see what you think for yourselves.
  19. If there was a clue there, I'll wager it means TPTB are unhappy that so many other clues have gone undiscovered. They must think that more idols means more ratings? In that case, I would expect (and hope hope hope) Angelina may be leaving the island soon.
  20. Would you care to recommend some specific seasons or episodes of the South African version of Survivor for me to watch?
  21. I must concede you make a good point. Thanks for the correction. What if I told you that I make $3,500 every month just by stuffing envelopes in my part time? I'm just joking and I only hope that you get the joke. I don't know if you get spammed by those scam posts where you are from. There oughta be a law against them. I've never seen Australian Survivor and I will have to watch a few episodes now - just on account of your reccommendation. Would you care to recommend a particular season or some particular episodes?
