  1. Noor's extraction attempt was already too late, as her brother had been "brainwashed" already. Or, who can blame him, really -- he was looking forward to army training, having a girlfriend, etc. He would just be another discriminated-against immigrant in the US...
  2. It's probably in the cheese fries.
  3. The actor that played Bishop did a great job during his testimony. I hadn't seen him in Mindhunter, but have seen him in many small roles over the years. I like how the cast is a mix of newcomers and Hollywood veterans. Was it just me or did there seem to be an awful lot of eating this season by the Haller & Associates gang? Never knew they were such foodies...
  4. It makes no sense to me that they would think that. Instead, they should use the $100MM to develop some malware that can infiltrate River.
  5. Also, does she really need to be pants-less in every episode this season?!?
  6. I thought that the Brothers sisters were a reference to the Wachowskis, who wrote and directed The Matrix. They were formerly known as the Wachowski brothers and are now both trans women, i.e., the Wachowski sisters.
  7. I was confused by the reveal of Ryan Pavich's torture room and Henry's story that the powerful Pavich family had discovered the aliens' true identities. So, Ryan Pavich is a sadistic serial killer who stumbled upon one of the aliens by accident -- perhaps while he was torturing him/her? And, Olivia just happened to be one of his victims by pure chance or is there a blackmail element as well?
  8. Maybe it's the LA setting and the compassionate, loner male lead, but the series reminds a bit of Lincoln Lawyer, except he's a PI, not a defense attorney
  9. I found that moment kind of Tarantino-esque. I think A.M. went out way too easily, though.
  10. In the book, it's made clear Douglas is clerical worker and not an MI5 employee. Guess that detail didn't make it into the show.
  11. Reading the books also makes me appreciate just how well the actor Christopher Chung portray's Roddy and his deluded sense of self. I don't see how the cast can keep a straight face when he's delivering his lines.
  12. I imagine that the police and overall infrastructure there is kind of a mess due to the civil strife going on. I was in Thailand by the Golden Triangle earlier this year, and we could see the huge casino complexes on the other side of the Mekong River in Myanmar. They certainly did not look as glitzy/glamorous as Chao Fah's!
  13. So, I think we learned for the first time in this episode that Kate was Hal's deputy when he was serving as ambassador? I wonder if their relationship began while they were working together... and whether he was married at the time. I guess we may find out more in future episodes.
  14. I haven't seen The Americans, but I had assumed it was a body double at the end with Hal... What was that horrible live muzak version of that Corinne Bailey Rae song they were dancing to at the gala??
  15. I was pleasantly surprised to see Melanie Lynskey as the ruthless rebel leader, whom I had assumed would be a man when I read the episode description prior to watching. Glad she was able to fit this in while also working on Yellowjackets!
