  1. I found that moment kind of Tarantino-esque. I think A.M. went out way too easily, though.
  2. In the book, it's made clear Douglas is clerical worker and not an MI5 employee. Guess that detail didn't make it into the show.
  3. Reading the books also makes me appreciate just how well the actor Christopher Chung portray's Roddy and his deluded sense of self. I don't see how the cast can keep a straight face when he's delivering his lines.
  4. I imagine that the police and overall infrastructure there is kind of a mess due to the civil strife going on. I was in Thailand by the Golden Triangle earlier this year, and we could see the huge casino complexes on the other side of the Mekong River in Myanmar. They certainly did not look as glitzy/glamorous as Chao Fah's!
  5. So, I think we learned for the first time in this episode that Kate was Hal's deputy when he was serving as ambassador? I wonder if their relationship began while they were working together... and whether he was married at the time. I guess we may find out more in future episodes.
  6. I haven't seen The Americans, but I had assumed it was a body double at the end with Hal... What was that horrible live muzak version of that Corinne Bailey Rae song they were dancing to at the gala??
  7. I was pleasantly surprised to see Melanie Lynskey as the ruthless rebel leader, whom I had assumed would be a man when I read the episode description prior to watching. Glad she was able to fit this in while also working on Yellowjackets!
  8. Just to add to my earlier post - in his interview with Ozzy Man, Krasinski does mention that this season was inspired by Clancy's Cold War novels, The Hunt for Red October, in particular. So, the parallels were intentional! Not sure if that's good or bad, though...
  9. Did we just watch The Hunt for Red October - Battleship Version?
  10. Why on earth were they hunting when it was pitch dark out??
  11. They are actually Chinese and speaking in Cantonese to each other. I have no idea why she is dressed like a geisha and needing to pass herself off as Japanese.
  12. Ugh, I got so annoyed when it looked like the girls were the ones who would free the infected test subjects... and they did. Just like in 28 Days Later.
  13. That's exactly what I thought, too. Being sent to Slough House seems like overkill when they could have given him a clerical job at Regent's Park like the other guy. Haven't watched any other episodes yet, but maybe he was deliberately sent there for his protection by his grandfather who pulled strings bc he knows something is up.
  14. This article explains what was really supposed to happen at Dylan's waffle party. Glad we didn't have to see what was intended! https://variety.com/2022/tv/features/severance-waffle-party-sex-scene-explained-dylan-kier-eagan-1235212918/#
  15. Yep. All he cares about are the millions he thinks he will make should Theranos go public. The whole scandal really illustrates how people's morals and conscience become non-existent once potential wealth becomes a factor.
