  1. @tobe, glad you got something out of it. It's one of my favorites. (And it's why I have zero patience with the pineapple as "evidence," irrational though that is.) (You can always come on over to the-blotter.com to talk non-TV true-crime properties. We're up all night. :) )
  2. If I had to guess: 1) it's before "real" TV starts back up again in earnest, or at least that's why the first one got scheduled for now, and then 2) all the others tried to beat each other to air. And 3) the actual anniversary is at Christmas, and while Making A Murderer did fine for itself over the winter holiday, I can see execs not wanting to go there with this one.
  3. I'm putting the worthwhile-minutes count at 14 total across three shows. Anyone want the over?
  4. @tobeannounced, they may have -- but John Douglas, a founder of the profiling program, was asked by the Ramseys' lawyers to consult on the case. He writes about it in The Cases That Haunt Us. His take on the case seems reasonable to me and he has a hard time believing the parents were responsible. I'm watching the end of this now, as it turns out. Interesting that they have footage of the other* documentary's experts stating that it's not possible to get into that window well; that seems kind of...rude, for lack of a better term? But also doesn't reflect rull well on Clemente. *For y'all who noted that there's "another" special on the case..."great" news? There are actually...three? - Dateline's running a 2hr special on it this coming Friday - ID Channel gets in the game next Monday 9/12 (and also Dr. Phil's 3-part ambulance-chase...er, "look" at the case starts that day) - and the one everyone means, the CBS miniseries starting 9/18. Buntsy's looking at a long couple weeks here, is m'point. I don't plan to cover the Dateline but I'm in for the others.
  5. They should never have showed it. The bit would work if you didn't see it, but this particular brand of theater-kid in-joke is super not for me, and it just. keeps. going.
  6. The hack --> economic meltdown --> cutting prison budgets --> early release for non-violent offenders.
  7. That she knew Steve was weak? Right before the line about how Laura having Steve on her side was like having nothing.
  8. I think it was a squid. Meeeeemorieeeees...
  9. Or guys whose facial hair only grows in that configuration and not on their cheeks (op. cit. my husband, who can have a mustache; a soul patch; "the Roy Randolph"; and that's kind of it).
  10. I think it was a school uniform. Pretty sure she had a kilt on.
  11. "But she jumped on the chance to take Brenda's part for herself" Not that she couldn't be lying, but Rory Randrolph asked her to audition for Maggie -- sheerly hitting on her, no doubt, but it played into her insecurities about having nothing to offer besides her looks. I wouldn't say she "jumped on" it, but like the end of the Brenda scene at Rory's aprartment, we didn't see it and can't really say. Did she go out of her way NOT to cross up Brenda? No. I can see Brenda being annoyed. Spitting mad -- over a part Kelly's unlikely to get, or accept? Settle down.
  12. I don't think the storyline was ever going to be that Brenda boned Rory, but the writers seemed pretty determined to write her as a piece of shit in every other way (and to write the other characters as despising her, with justification) so they should have committed and gone there.
  13. @swimmy, my mom fully owned one in peach AND pale blue. Beerf. @John HAAAAAA HA HA HA more's the pity. A GG/Parker Lewis crossover would have been epic.
  14. Priestley had also played a "punker" (I know) on 21 Jump Street.
  15. Um, that guy was in Mystery, Alaska? Maybe a little respect. (hee)
  16. @ratgirl, I found that striking as well -- I do think we've seen that before, on the show, but it's unusual enough that I had to stop and think about it. And they were kind of vague re: the felony possession charge too. I've felt/noted several times this season that a whole whack of story got left in the editing bay; same thing here.
  17. You're really going to love Tara's frustrage in next Friday's ep.
  18. "Andrea = Sarah (with an H that she would harp on constantly)" Or pronounced "Sahhhh-rah." Shut up, Ohhhhhndrea.
