  1. So guys, was that casino trip worth it?
  2. Clev - that doesn't surprise me at all. He and Plesac are joined at the hip - and I'm sure Tito, Sandy and the rest are fuming. I wonder how Plesac was caught by the MLB personnel and Clev wasn't. As my mom would say, the plot sickens!!! 😠😠😠😠😠
  3. Why exactly is that spineless jellyfish Manfred in love with the Astros? Do they have something on him?
  4. In all fairness, the news didn't break until last night. I don't know if Uncle Dan was on the air at the time (I think a ballgame was on MLB Network then).
  5. One of the local sportswriters on the team beat wrote an interesting op-ed about it. I don't know what Zach Plesac was thinking. 😠 https://www.cleveland.com/tribe/2020/08/what-was-cleveland-indians-zach-plesac-thinking-about-paul-hoynes.html?fbclid=IwAR29PVG9t4t7l0VuAqsYddI3V9zlnz3zgGcMAyDX5_M7GN9I_evPFecElDI It also has to be awkward for his Uncle Dan, who is one of the anchors on the MLB Network!! 😳
  6. Scary moment for the Pirates: https://triblive.com/sports/tigers-hammer-derek-holland-for-five-homers-but-outfield-collision-casts-pall-over-pirates-loss/
  7. Ballpark organists are always, always on point. 👍👏👐😂 https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sportingnews.com/ca/amp/mlb/news/braves-organist-reese-mcguire-masturbation-beat-it/rxmd0wvp8lu215e30w678svpk
  8. A's fans were still able to make their fury at the Astros known when the teams played in Oakland last night. They may not be physically allowed in the stadium, so they did the next best thing:
  9. I can't speak for all teams, but the Indians' "taxi squad" is working out at their Class A ballpark, which is about 20 miles east of downtown Cleveland.
  10. Dick Goddard was also a staunch animal advocate, a talented cartoonist and acted in many Big Chuck & Lil' John skits. Here are some of them:
  11. He may be a HOF player, but he's a horrible spin doctor. Maybe he just should have kept quiet.
  12. Yet another pitcher is done for the year, but because of injury. Ouch: https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29591558/braves-ace-mike-soroka-helped-field-injured-leg In a different kind of ugly, the Indians dropped their fourth straight game. The pitching has been stellar, but the offense has been almost non-existent.
  13. It doesn't help that Manfred seems to be making up new rules as he goes along. MLB started 4 months late. That was more than enough time to draft up a contingency plan.
  14. If Manfred had any sense, those games against the Marlins and Cardinals wouldn't be postponed. They should be forfeited. Their upcoming opponents were left holding the bag. They shouldn't be penalized. It's the only fair solution.
  15. Because that makes too much sense. 😝
  16. Some of these Cardinals should be put in the same doghouse as some of the Marlins. Idiots!! https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/report-cardinals-went-to-casino-prior-to-team-outbreak/ar-BB17wiM9?li=BBnb7Kz
  17. He's been caught on camera wearing it under his nose numerous times, though he had gotten a bit better about it during this past series.
  18. Here are screen caps of David Groh in his three L&O appearances - "Indifference", "Censure" and "Fixed". I also found an article about "Fixed" from when it originally aired. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.deseret.com/platform/amp/2004/12/8/19865220/law-gets-blast-from-past
  19. Get well soon, Tito!! Thankfully, this appears to be a non-Coronavirus issue. https://www.cleveland.com/tribe/2020/08/terry-francona-heading-back-to-cleveland-to-meet-with-doctors-as-indians-head-to-cincinnati.html
  20. The bad news continues, this time with Joey Votto: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/29583408/reds-put-joey-votto-injured-list-no-reason-given%3fplatform=amp
  21. Played by David Groh, who of course lives in L&O infamy as Jacob Lowenstein. He also played Bobbie Spencer's abusive first husband on GH in the early 80s. Mr. Groh played such scary and rotten villains so convincingly that I couldn't really enjoy him as Rhoda's good guy hubby Joe when that show came to DVD!!
  22. Don Mattingly has led the Marlins through some very difficult times (most notably, the death of Jose Fernandez). Of course, he can't be all places at all times, so I don't think he can be blamed for some of his players being careless in their downtime and going out to party. They are adults who should know better. Still, if MLB needs to make an example of the Marlins - Mattingly would most likely be the one to go.
  23. I agree with all you've said, @mojoween. How come the Marlins aren't facing any kind of discipline from the league? Is Manfred really that spineless? (Of course, I probably just answered my own question!!)
  24. Here's an op-ed from SI that says it all about Manfred's incompetence: https://www.si.com/mlb/2020/08/01/rob-manfred-bluff-end-mlb-season-pandemic-problems
