Joy's hair looks greasy and dull (and overlong). Kendra's looks clean and brushed. I feel sorry for Joy; I suspect that she'll look at least a little slovenly no matter what. Joy's leg looks pretty bad.

Good point. There was speculation about Jill as well, IIRC.

I've said before that I think Derelict is one of those adult stepchildren who just refuses to accept a stepparent. I have relatives who refused to accept my grandmother's second husband, even though their father was a loser who left her while she was pregnant and she was alone for more than twenty years before remarrying. They were rude and dismissive to their stepfather even when he was terminally ill. Those relatives sure had no problem stealing money and painkillers from him, though.

Did anyone notice Josiah's black socks and black shoes? I guess the Duggars haven't outgrown that particular bit of gender-based construct (in the earliest specials, Mullet said the girls had white socks and the boys had black, which looked odd with the boys' khakis).

I think he looks like he's lost weight (or maybe he bought some man-Spanx). And while I'm being contrary, that lawn needs some weed-and-feed, pronto.
-
That's a stretch. Some babies are just more roly-poly than others; lack of fat does not mean inadequately fed.
-
Somebody who's following a low-carb, high-fat, protein-focused diet, for one. That might explain Derelict's thinness. Seriously, "breakfast" food is a social construct. There is no law that says steak is only for dinner.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Heathen replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Smuggar was over it by the third kid. He was visibly happy when Mackynzie was born, less so but still excited when Michael was born, and onto "not this shit again" when Marcus came along. In some ways, I feel sorry for Smuggar. Yes, he's a molester and cheater, but in many ways he is a product of his limited environment. I'm sure he feels he has no choice but to continue impregnating Ofsmuggar, who clearly wants a zillion kids. -
Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Heathen replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Ah, the seventh anniversary of Smuggar's nap while Ofsmuggar labored with Dr. Jill and Miss Teresa at her cervix, and of course the legendary toilet birth. @@ -
I'm starting to wonder if the blessed nuptials have been called off or "postponed" for some reason.

Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events
Heathen replied to maraleia's topic in Counting On
Hopefully, Smuggar's testicles will shrivel and fall off before they conceive #6 (actually, #7 since Ofsmuggar claims to have had a miscarriage between Mackynzie and Michael). -
I wonder how many of them actually have time to spend reading lame-ass lifestyle blogs. Unless they get lucky like Mullet, they might not have older daughters to raise the kids, clean the house, do the laundry, "teach" the children, and cook the food. Or have sycophants to work alongside the daughter-slaves.

Jill was probably pissy in the video because she didn't get to play midwife for Kendra.

It does (or like small used car lot owners in general). My point, though, is that when Jim Bob was twenty, he worked in a grocery store and had other jobs as well. Smuggar could hardly manage to show up for his one and only job, which he was gifted.
-
Josh's car lot wasn't successful in large part because of Josh. How often did he actually show up to work? The cars were generally way overpriced, too. Smuggar certainly didn't inherit the work ethic Jim Bob had at the same age.

Red Robin gives a month or so after the birthday to get the free burger, or so I'm told. Every other place I've heard of offers the freebie on the birthday only. ETA: I would feel very weird going only to get the freebie, whether it was a burger or a dessert or a drink. Something tells me the Dullards and the Duggars only get the freebie.

And Obergefell v. Hodges, all in his first week. Liberty University has a law school, but that would 1. Require Derelict getting in, and 2. The Dullards moving to Virginia.
