  1. Hmm, you've pointed out one thing that's different about this season. I don't care at all who wins. It's more apathy for me than being happy for whoever wins though. At least I don't dislike anybody, outside of Wyatt's arm. I haven't even thought about a favorite.
  2. I think they said it was basically the same strength and life expectancy of a human body Picard's age, they said no "super powers". So I don't imagine it's invulnerable. I had just assumed Agnes knew the song and had some interest in singing. But it would make sense that the Borg Queen would know all this trivia, and be able to target a song that was popular in the time and place they were in, even if she was 50 years old.
  3. I wish they hadn't even shown that conversation, I don't really care to get politics mixed with my entertainment, even if it isn't that entertaining. I guess they needed to show it if that was the cause of the friction between them. Which is exactly why you're not supposed to discuss politics in polite company.
  4. I'm sticking this out until the bitter end, but I doubt that I would subject myself to another season of this, if there is one. Things are dragging, badly. The only way I would tune in is if there were a group of celebs that were especially interesting to me for whatever reason. I thought it was dirty that they put Lance in the bottom three for non-mission related reasons. But we'll probably see the social game come more to the fore as the season winds down. I think if they chose the base commander and/or mission specialist randomly it would be an improvement. And everyone should get a turn.
  5. He did, and besides that, I swear that guy was superhuman.
  6. That's interesting, since my recollection is that most of the twists the shows have added have not been particularly popular with the fans, like the season where they had the pairs working together. There was a recent season where someone built a dug down, partially underground shelter for the first time, which was supposed to stay warmer in the winter. Things like that helped add interest, but there was nothing really new going on this season that I can think of. There were some big pike though, that was kind of interesting.
  7. I was kind of amused by Dr. Jurati's response to being flirted with at the bar, and her implying that she wasn't a "pretty" person physically. Maybe the point was that she was emotionally damaged, so she didn't see herself as attractive. But I've seen this sort of thing on TV and film before. Allison Pill may not be considered attractive among the elite actresses that inhabit her world, just because she has a bit of a quirky look, I guess. But in the real world, she would be standout attractive wherever she goes. Actress good looks. Like I said, I've seen this before. Some actress is presented in the story as homely, and I'm thinking "what the heck are you talking about, she's gorgeous". Weird standards in Hollywood, I guess.
  8. I just don't buy the Jughead/Veronica romance, can't see it. Nope. Why does Uncle Frank have to be such a dick? This season seems to be people with 2023 sensibilities living in the '50s, which I guess is what is going on. Still, it might be nice to see some of the cool aspects of the '50s (which were there), instead of preaching how awful they were all the time. You know, the 2020s aren't perfect either (and that's a damn understatement).
  9. That stinks. Hope you get to feeling better. I know falls when you are older are no joke. Let me just clarify, when I call it an ugly sweater, I don't mean I hate it. I just thought that was what those kinds of sweaters are called, "ugly sweaters". Like they sell "ugly Christmas sweaters" every year. I don't care to see it in conjunction with him squeezing pus and blood out of his arm though. That's been I've been wondering. There aren't a lot of new plot lines that pop up on the show. I'm hungry, I shot a bird, I caught a fish, I'm burning a lot of calories, I miss my family, that's about it. We haven't seen anybody kill a bear yet, that would be interesting, although I have to admit most of me doesn't want to see it.
  10. I'm starting to think Ronda Rousey had the right idea. Get out of this show while it was still half interesting. I was sorry to see Andy go, but I guess he kind of deserved it for buying into Adam's manipulating last week about who to put in the bottom three. He thought it would help him probably, but it came back and bit him.
  11. I've been thinking this, so I'm glad you said it. I agree, for whatever reason, this season has been kind of boring. Maybe the premise is just losing its novelty. I'm not one to make a big deal about my birthday, but I do appreciate it when people remember it. Making it through another year as an adult is not a small accomplishment, and I'd say it's worth a little celebration.
  12. Okay, clearly I've been mixing Wyatt up with Mikey, not sure why. Wyatt's the one with the ugly sweater.
  13. I blew it too, tonight wasn't the last episode. Apparently next week they have the last episode (10), followed immediately by the first episode of Alone Australia. I don't know what to say about tonight's episode. Melanie got tired of it and left. Supposedly there are three people left, but I can only think of Allen and Mikey. Who's the other one? Hopefully we've seen the last of Mikey squeezing blood and pus out of his arm.
  14. My Comcast listing does not show this, and instead has the first episode of Australia showing next week. Either way, I guess this is the finale for this season, which surprises me.
  15. It does appear very dated, I agree. But Khan was a powerful ruler in his day and no doubt was used to women being subservient to him. You might be mad at Marla's response to him, but it could have been a feint in order to stay close and study him. Or maybe she has a bit of masochist in her.
  16. Khan doesn't know Kirk Fu.
  17. I'm probably reading too much into this, but it seems a little odd those two would be having a scene together. Assuming they get out of the '50s at the end, I would think Jughead is back with Tabitha. Jughead/Betty sounds like there may some scenario that brings things full circle back to the start of the series with those two solving mysteries. But like I said, I'm probably reading too much into it.
  18. An odd trio, although I guess their scenes aren't necessarily together.
  19. Alone: Australia is starting August 10th, so this must have a few episodes left, and then it's on to Australia. Funny how they run these back to back. Taz was doing too well to tap out, IMO. But they all have to make their own decisions. I don't think whoever wins is going to have a historically long stay. I don't like seeing Wyatt squeeze the pus out of his wound - besides, I doubt that is the correct thing to do. Also don't like seeing people brush their teeth on TV, it's annoying, like nails on a chalkboard.
  20. I think more the opposite. At this point, there's barely a "heteronormal" character on this show, with Reggie and Archie showing interest in the wrestling movie and living like "the Beats", and having a "devil's threeway" with the hooker. If this is what they're like in the oppressive '50s, seriously, the rest of this series should have just been one non-stop orgy among all the characters.
  21. Don't know anything about that, I gave up on FTWD a long time ago. Maybe they could have a scene where Negan and Maggie are having sex, but Maggie wakes up in a cold sweat from the dream (nightmare?). Or Negan could wake up, with a smirky smile on his face.
  22. The thing I always think of when I think of The Middle is Sue's graduation. Sue had been invisible for her entire high school years. People in her class didn't even recognize her, even her teachers didn't even know she was in their class. But all of a sudden we're supposed to believe that everyone knew who she was, admired her tenacity, spoke of her in glowing terms, and signed her yearbook cover to cover. It simply wasn't believable. I admit it was a touching moment, however. Just not believable or realistic.
  23. I've never cared for that kind of overconfident, narcissistic attitude. He could be overcompensating for something though, you never know. Andy totally got hoodwinked by Adam, and I half suspect he knows it but went along anyway, in order to ingratiate himself to the alliance. It's also possible that Ronda leaving was more of a done deal going into the mission than we were led to believe.
  24. I can't see that happening. Negan would probably be down for it though.
  25. I'm with you there, but they appear to be pretty safe because they seem to have the strongest alliance.
