I thought he said she was in the hospital for a month, so I believe Mama Sean is sick. The hospital wouldn't let her hang out for no reason. She was in long enough for Sean to have to buy food. Of course you could speculate that she switched from Munchausen's by proxy to Munchausen's and was making herself sick, but eventually she would be cured. Perhaps he is an ever nude.

Sean mentioned that his mother rented a van and put a mattress in it to take him to the doctor. And yet, he did not say, "Ow, mah layg!"
