Spoiler Discussion Thread: The Sequel

I choose the one where Oliver, Felicity, William and any other children live happily ever after. Oliver is honored as a hero. Smoak Tech is thriving. Everyone else can stay in the SC we’ve seen so far in the FFs. -

I’d assumed Laurel would only be in the gala scene in the photos, with everything else going on - Olicity, FFs, Oliver suiting up again, Dinah/assuming SCPD stuff from the promo, whatever (if anything) happens with the new GA, etc. -

I hope that someone points out everything shady about ARGUS over the years instead of acting like it’s a new thing. (Never going to let the Cayden thing go, if only because he was played by ME who DESERVED BETTER.) And while I don’t see Diggle siding against his friends - though I use that term loosely right now - I do hate that I too wonder and wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t make a move to stop it right away because he’s conducting his own investigation/wants to get all the pieces together/etc. I honestly just hope I can start liking Diggle again and him being surprised that ARGUS is shady won’t let that happen. -

I miss when OTA was the core of the show and not something someone who just tuned it this season would have no idea what it stands for/who’s part of it. Actually, I’d be really interested to see how new fans see all the relationships on the show/which characters are close friends/etc. -

Yeah, to be honest, I'd rather hear that Arrow is going to give me back the Diggle I like soon and acknowledge he was replaced by some ARGUS robot than about the FFs. I'm 99% certain that Felicity's alive and we'll learn there's a lot more to what's going on than they're saying in the future. I'm only at about 10% that they won't just brush any 7A problems under the rug and pretend they never happened, like how they're ignoring S6's OTA vs. NTA in S7. -

I ... don't even know what to say except ... seriously? Right? I'd probably get close to S5 "I hate Oliver" territory if Oliver leaves Felicity because of what she had to do when no one else would help her. Felicity has no one on her side right now. It's one thing when her "friends" abandon her and don't care that she was almost murdered. The writers can ignore that like they are. They couldn't do that if it's her husband who does it. Will there be tension? Probably. But tension and angst don't equal a breakup. It does sound like something I'd read on Reddit, not gonna lie. (Although it's not followed by "and then Oliver and Laurel will get together because she's redeemed and good," so maybe not? Though I haven't read anything from the review not quoted here.) -

I hope the change includes Diggle apologizing to Felicity and not the other way around. And it better not include ignoring Diggle’s previous behavior/words and acting like he supported Felicity 100%. -

Don’t you know as long as it’s comic book canon it can’t be classified as a soap opera? Even if Oliver starts dating E2-LL only for E1-LL to come back to life and he goes back to her and drama ensues and E2-LL tries to kill E1-LL and take her place, not a soap opera because comics. (I feel like that would be the exact storyline of a soap opera - “evil” twin tries to take “good” twin’s place, even though I’ve never seen a soap opera.) -
I hope that other kiss isn’t between Oliver and another character. Crossovers don’t now need to be an excuse to hook Oliver up with a new female character in the multiverse by bringing in other versions of Oliver. That being said, I won’t be surprised if Oliver is involved or if it’s with Nora Fries, even though I’ll never believe it would’ve definitely happened if she wasn’t being played by SA’s wife.

Ugh I hope not. Because then we might continue to get too much Dinah in episodes going forward. -

It annoys me when people say Olicity is a soap opera because you know if the same exact scenes/lines/etc. were given to Oliver/Laurel, suddenly it would be the best thing ever. I'd really like the "vigilante resistance" to be the bad guys, but I doubt it'll happen. Despite how awful NTA continues to be, we're supposed to think they're good guys because comics/masks/etc. I do think that Felicity (and Oliver, assuming he's part of it) kept Dinah out for a good reason - namely, everything we're seeing of her supposed "friends" in the present, which is that no one seems to care about helping her. (Though I also would be very, very surprised if this turned out to be true/something addressed.) -

I look at any “friendship” with Laurel like this: at least Oliver and Felicity shouldn’t really expect to (maybe ever) fully trust her. So if she helps them, great. Meanwhile, the people they should expect to help them aren’t. Of course, in-show, they have yet to address this, which is a problem. -

I wonder if they want to make sure that the future goes to hell far enough down the line that they can technically end the present-day storyline in the series finale (whenever that is) with at least a semi-happy ending. Yep. Especially if they decide to make Laurel and Dinah BFFs at any point and then introduce Laurel as one of Dinah's partners in the future in the vigilante resistance. (I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this happens if there are any plans to have Laurel in the FFs.) Because right now, Dinah in the FFs = good, what she says = fact. -

Yep. I also worry that they're going to completely ignore the fact that Felicity had no one wanting to help her. For example, I can see them acting like Felicity working with Laurel was so bad while ignoring the fact that Dinah seems to care more about Laurel's well-being and "redemption" to the point that she's following her and giving her pep talks than Felicity (who she told to just go back to witness protection). -

I just hope there's not too much Dinah in this episode. We've had enough Dinah already in the first 6 episodes. And knowing there are going to be more FFs ... please let the focus of them be William and Maya. -

If it is ... poor Beth. She keeps trying so hard to keep any spoilers from getting out and everyone (especially the CW) is failing her. -

Could be, sort of like with Tina/Dinah. The names are even similar in both cases.
