S13.E09: A Feisty Fiesta
Rorysmom replied to jewel21's topic in The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills
I think this cast is one of the strongest they've had. I like them all to some degree, and think they are acting the most genuinely/authentically. Maybe not how storylines are introduced, but they are sharing their real feelings. And that makes it interesting. Sutton is my least favorite. She grates my nerves--her demeanor and behavior. The only thing I like about Sutton is her friendship with Garcelle. I like a lot about Garcelle. But along the lines of @Yours Truly, I do believe she has a cutting and dismissive side to her that she's shown with both Kyle and Dorit. They've both thought that all is well with Garcelle, only to find out it isn't... but she won't say. Instead she leaves no room for error or makes snide remarks--in group or the interviews--that have left both of them confused. Y'all are right: Kyle does to her friends what she and her sisters do to each other. I wonder if she realizes. I understand, though, her perspective with Dorit, Mo, and her sisters. She's been very clear. Not that I want to know, but I wonder if/how many times Mo has cheated on her. And if he has, with all that has happened in these reckoning COVID years, she is OVER IT ALL. I also understand what motivates Erika. Not that I agree with it, but I can understand the ramifications of her upbringing. I like Dorit. I think she pot-stirs with them all. And so do most of them. But her history with Garcelle makes their interactions more fraught. Sigh. We'll see where they go from here. Crystal is fine, LOL. I do wonder how tragic the role she/mom played in her brother's break-up will continue to be and if she feels guilty. That was a terrible choice to have him make: stay in China with fiance or come home. -

Garcelle does not like Dorit and will not give any benefit of the doubt to her. I'll take AnnMarie over Sutton any day. Erika's Sammy/Denise OnlyFans zinger was a spit take for me! 🤣 -
S08.E06: Tequila, Tears, Texas

Submitting someone's name to ANY shrine for anything less than positive blessings is an absolute no-go and not something they or many would be ok with. -
S08.E05: Pie in the Austin Sky

I don't think Nneka and production were set on starting trouble with Wendy. I think both were probably like, "too bad you're too jealous, territorial or insecure to bring on a possible friend. We like Nneka and what she can bring to the group, so you will have to deal." Wendy and her mom couldn't deal. So here we are. -

I knew Wendy was full of it. #receipts -
She was amazing! We were living for it! The show was about 90 minutes long, and she had three costume changes. She sang her songs (with videos on big screen) and songs that meant something to her. Of course, we sang along. She promoted Crappie Lake and did a Q&A. It was a tight show. She is just as beautiful in person as onscreen. The crowd was very diverse--age, ethnicity, and vibe. We saw her at the House of Blues for size reference. If she comes to your city, definitely go! My pictures are too large to share. 😔

Wholeheartedly agree! Daughter and I went to Countess LuAnn's cabaret show this month and had a ball! She's got a niche and thriving tour.
-
We'll see, @drivethroo. I really believe Wendy+Eddie knew of Nneka+Iyke more than they are admitting. I bet the receipts will come. I don't think the shrine talk was xenophobic because I believe they would have had the same reaction to New Orleans voodoo talk. Some folks simply do not engage in spirit and curse talk and giving other world stuff... life.
-
Nneka genuinely seemed upset and angered by how she was treated by Wendy, a fellow Nigerian--upwardly mobile at that. I don't know how big the community is, but I bet there are max two degrees of separation. You know somebody's relative. And to whomever/whatever the shrine is for, none of these ladies wanted any parts of bad spiritual intentions. No parts, LOL!

I believe Wendy does feel threatened that she will lose her spot to Nneka and was cool toward her because of that on sight. And I could believe that Wendy's mom would at the very least bad mouth and threaten Nneka in an effort to save her daughter's (and her) position on the show. Wendy has been tolerated, at best, since she joined the show. She showed her condescension skills very early on, and she never recovered. She also changed up, IMO, very distractingly, from her first season to her second. The GEB pointed out her glow up as it related to her marriage but also as it was drastically out of character. Yes, when housewives see themselves on their first season, they do step up their style on the second. But Wendy's whole demeanor and look changed. Yes, we can be more than our jobs, but she took a hard left into... I don't know what. As of this episode, I wouldn't mind Wendy being replaced by Nneka. But don't hold me to that, LOL.

Ok, I would have been disappointed if Erika had not gotten up there and showed out. -

Daggum! Thanks for the context. Marlo's ear hustle was the best! 🤣 -
I've never been a Voice fan, so all of these singers are new to me. Maybe it's the same for other Idol viewers.

He does look so much like him. Katie was right: he gave such a life-altering performance. I love it for him just a skosh less than Luke did. 😉 I'm also a big fan of Nutsa. I do think she got a bad edit with the singing partner drama. I agree with a previous poster that some want to practice until exhausted. That wasn't Nutsa, and she shouldn't have been presented like that. I hope she goes deep into the competition. She has a professional sheen to her that might be off-putting, but her story + talent are compelling. We'Ani, please pick really good songs. As great as you are, song choice will be key to you making top three. Iam's sound and tone are so magical to me. My top three predictions today: Iam, Colin, and We.

I didn't know she was on The Voice. I don't watch that show. Glad she's gotten another chance. I believe that is her real voice. Some people sing in a totally different key range than their natural speaking voice. -

We Ani is simply spectacular. -
The romantic introduction reminded me of "Out of Sight" with George Clooney/Jennifer Lopez. I like it so far.

I think that would be a great retool. -
We are tired of y'all questioning our fidelity for y'alls story lines. Get yo' own business! Signed, Eddie, Juan, and Chris

WHAT??? 75??? I mean... if I sit back and count, it does add up. Once we hit the "adult" years, what is time, you know?
-
Lawd, what must it have felt like to hear everyone *cackling* at the absurdity of the assertion that Juan wanted you?
-
Night court was one of my absolute favorites. So glad that this show got a reboot. John L. is still amazing.

I agree that's who has been shown. I wish they showed people who do respect and want to learn and be part of what exists.
