  1. Yeah I was rounding up when I said 30 years. Dude doesn't look like a teen so let's say he's in his 20's. Makes it even weirder that they have taken such a sharp turn SO FAST regarding politics and civil rights in the US, the US, not some third world country used to lack of voting and inheriting power. I'm having more trouble buying into that aspect of things more than angels murdering humans. I had a similar problem with the real government rolling over for the "Monroe Republic" in Revolution after a few years without electricity. If you want radically different governments don't say or show it has been a short time into the future from now, like the Hunger Games. We don't know how long it took the US to fall and have the district system take its place and you at least have a plausible reason for the games i.e. punishment for an uprising some decades before..
  2. I think the little girl survived the attack since Alex said something to Pretty Pretty Princess about how the girl and PPP COULD have been killed implying she wasn't. HOWEVER since Giles fed a guy to one of the MGM lions (BTW I've seen the keepers at MGM literaly STEP OVER the lions while cleaning up and wondered how they haven't been eaten YET because lions and tigers are never completely trained and the guy literally had his junk less than a foot away from a genormous paw as he stepped over. Like if the lion HAD mauled him I would have said what did you expect it is a wild animal. My house cat has on occasion clawed people. I thought he was way too trusting.) because the guy had witness the sacred tatooing I would not put it past Giles to smother the girl with a pillow in the hospital. They could alsways say she took a turn of r the worse. The caste system obviously is to keep the rich rich and the poor poor. I hate to think that in the US people would put up with a military dictatorship but I can believe that in a massive die off due to attack by angels things went to hell. HOWEVER this necesitates that everybody in the government went first and or Vegas lost all contact with DC. Theoretically there could be a totally different system in DC but isolated from other areas or more likely Vegas is cut off from other areas...(except for Helena which got started HOW? That one seems wierd that it would have a woman in power in a quasi Middle Eastern (by the looks of the clothes) setting. Especially if they are Middle Easter but not homophobic. SOOOOOOOO much time would have had to elapse for these systems to have gotten started and yet due to the Messiah's age there can't have been more than 30 years since Legion. I get they are trying for a future that is exotic but it doesn't actually make much sense. Also The Stand had the bad guys concentrated in Vegas (I can sort of see SIN CITY being where to consolidate your evil forces) but people are right that a frikkin dessert is NOT where you want to be in an apocalypse. You need to bring IN water, you NEED electricity while in other places you might get away with out much electricity. Personally I think the rules of "where would I go in a Zombie apocalypse" that we talked about on the Walking Dead thread at televisionwithoutpity would stand for a lot with the exception being you'd have to plan for defense from aerial attack which is one thing you don't need to worry about in a Zombie apocalypse. Didn't see Legion but read a synopsis because of this show and having not seen what Michael in the movie I would think he HAD to be a better "person" than the awful awful immitation of a person that I see on this show. I almost thought he'd changed his mind about humanity considering the way he treated Alex. I initially thought maybe he was just jokeying for power himself and that he was setting himself up as leader of humans only because Gabriel has angel followers. In other words what I saw was just another villain who happens to be on the human side not a good guy. SOrt of like the General and Giles are evil even if they are on the human side and Middle Eastern Bi person is also evil. The cousel reminds me of OLD Battlestar Galactica with the fat cat Senators led by Ray Milan that set it up that the Civialian Leadership was evil so the military under Adama HAD to be in charge as THEY were honest and true. Only hear the Adama is ALSO shady. (Why the HELL though would an angel be sleeping with the general? Why wouldn't she kill him? I at first thought maybe she was a DEMON. I understand that Legion didn't have demons but that doesn't mean we couldn't have them here. It does beg the question upthread of what the heck happens to human souls when they die in this universe. Which leads to my last point, I find it interesting that here and in Supernatural the writers posit God up and leaving and that driving the Angels nuts. There have been a few movies like that too. I think it is a relatively modern idea to have God leave as opposed to just not existing. I do like the idea of Angels being very alien in thier thinking which makes sense since even in the Bible they are pretty scary creatures and only take on the form of humans. They wouldn't have the experience of growing up human so of course they woulldn't BE human.
  3. I want Delphine to be alive and it coincidentally turn out that Operation Castor flew Helena to an army base IN FRANKFURT and that Delphine helps break Helena out. I want Donnie and Alison to continue to gel as a felonious couple and pull off some kind of caper like a heist or something. I want Kira and Donnie and Alison's kids to meet. I still want a video of the clones singing Wannabe by the Spice Girls. Eye-patched Rachel would be Posh Spice. I want Alison to redeem herself as a community theatre person and to succesfully do a play, although I can't think of any play that would have been more perfect than Blood Ties. I actually want to see that play. Maybe someday they'll do it off Broadway. Toronto is too far for me to go for that.
  4. The Clone Dance Party gave me hope that my wish for a music video of the clones performing Wannabe by the Spice Girls will happen. the guy who plays Donnie in an interview rermarked that Tatiana has to figure out how the clones make love and each is different and now we saw that each dances very differently too. God she's great. Thought Helena was going to swing her head off her shoulders. Alison initially being too uptight to move anything but her head until Felix got her on the floor proper was a nice touch. Ahh hippy dippy Cosima of course you'd hug Crazy Shakira clone despite her being a dangerous wacko. Peace love and understanding. Boy do I hope you read the notes in the Island of Dr Mareau fast enough to save yourself. I love that geeky genius and it would break my heart to lose her. I also awed when she thought of Delphine in a kind of angel hallucination. She really does love her. Too bad I wouldn't put it past Rachel to wack her out of spite. And I agree EyePatch is coming. I wonder if there is a way of making an eyepatch look particularly expensive to fit her style. Maybe one for each colored outfit? The boy clones are going to be even more trouble. Why don't government types ever figure out that by making super soldiers who follow orders blindly you also make them easy to be taken over by somebody else who they will follow blindly? Does anybody else think it is possible that the writers are deliberately putting in some events being really really long shots but happening anyway because there really is a religious dimension to reality? By that I mean you have the DYAD that believe in science above all else and are evil and you have the Prolethians who are a cult and think they do God's biddy and are evil and other shady people all trying to subject the clones to their will OK? BUT Sarah Manning HAPPENS to be walking at the trains station at the EXACT time that Beth kills herself setting a whole bunch of things in motion and really what are the chances of that? So maybe God or Destiny or SOMETHING is playing a part to try to offset DYAD and the Prolithians and the army etc etc because there really IS (in this universe) something other than science and chance influencing the universe. Just a thought.
  5. Till the very end of this ep I kept expecting it all to be an alien induced hallucination. I thought each of the main characters were in a separate dreamscape each tailored to their specific personalities. (reminds me of the end of the British version of Being Human) I swear that is what I thought was going on. I STILL can't believe they did the infant into teen/adult half breed alien thing they did in original V. Angel and the 4400. Has ANYBODY ever really liked that ever? Like I said I thought when the brother's vision went blurry he was going to see through the alien illusion and blonde was going to be a skitter or something. I missed the last two eps of last season. Could I have missed something that is important to what is going on now? Could I still be right and this be an illusion? The alien being threatened at the end implies no, but I'm still confused. Everybody seems to have changed personalities over the break. It is very weird.
  6. I found one and only one redeeming feature in Cult Daddy. He grasped the REAL point of Frankenstein (the novel) which the movie totally got wrong, and few people pick up on. At least that is what I got from cult baby story time. He seemed to be talking about the Monster tracking his creator to the frozen north because it hadn't known being loved, not because it was born evil. Then he gave it an age appropriate happy ending since he wasn't going to tell little little kids the Monster killed his creator. Most people take the movie's message "there are things that man was NOT meant to mess with" and think that the story inherently is about science going too far. The point of the novel is that what Dr Frankenstein did that was wrong wasn't creating the Monster, since Mary Shelley's generation was very PRO Science and experimenting to find the secrets of nature etc. His big sin from Shelly's POV is ABANDONING the creature. The Monster was kind of a nice guy but is rejected by his creator because he isn't exactly what Dr Frankenstein wanted and people start coming after him and THEN he goes off the rails. All of which kind of made the Monster kind of sympathetic AND reminded me of Helena. I mean I'm a little wigged out that she blinded a nun for putting her in a closet as I think that permanent blindness for an act the nun should have just gone to jail for is exteme, BUT I can see where Helena's coming from and didn't have a big problem with what she did to Cult Daddy. I think HE should have gone to jail but can see how (a) somebody like Helena wouldn't be able to think like me and (b) there wouldn't have been evidence and credible witnesses against him since he ran a cult so there was NO WAY in hell that guy was going away for what he did, so feral child Helena doing him in ultimately is OK. Also like the Monster I can't imagine that Helena would be ANYWHERE as messed up as she is if she'd had even adequate parenting, much less you know GOOD parenting. That all being said while I sympathize with her the only way Helena could be a decent mom would be through the magic of television scripts because no way is the character as portrayed good mom material. She's good with- you don't beat children-, but no way does she know when to or how to discipline children. The kid she's carrying would pretty much be ferral, left to her own devices, and can you imagine what she'd feed him once he/she got too old for breast milk? OTOH I don't want her to die and I certainly don't want Cosima to die. I have no idea how the writers will wrap things up but a wierd part of me wants Mrs S to take over taking care of Helena since she does a poor job herself and be the voice of reason in raising Helena's child. Ironically parelleling the job she did for Sarah. Apropos of nothing I want a music video with all the clones singing Wannabe by the Spicegirls, complete with Helena's off key Ukrainian accented contributions and Alison doing the choreography. Edited to make it easier to read. I take suggestions well.
  7. Souris-So sorry to hear that. I'm not a vegetarian and I'd still say that was traumatic. Don't blame yourself it was just an accident. PTVer sound good to me, thanks. I was referring to other show's threads as believe it or not we here at OUAT despite being on hiatus are a vertual stampede compared to some shows where I kid you not there are for example EIGHT threads open for discussion of a show with ZERO posts. ZERO! I mean not one soul in the whole internet has found and wished to express themselves on those threads. And it means nobody at PTV cared about those shows till we got here. It boggles my mind.
  8. IIRC the Jerusalem Syndrome is where while traveling in the Holy Land you develop religious preocupations that often lead to extreme behavior. Someone who went to my school (but not at the same time I did) who was Jewish but not very religious went there, became convinced God had spoken to him and walked into a Mosque with a machine gun. He killed a lot of people and was killed in turn by the police. Spoke to some people who knew him and they were really shocked as like I said he wasn't very religious to begin with. I've traveled in France and think Paris is awesome and the country is beautiful but the French lived up to thier reputation of not being friendly to strangers. I'll say this about them however, I got the feeling they treated ALL forieners badly. As opposed to Austria where I felt REALLY REALLY singled out for not being white. Still gives me the heeby jeebies when I think about it. As opposed to not having any hard feelings about France. I think I want to go on tour of Carcosonne in the future. Humidity in NY is bad today but the weekend was nice. Cindy I can't watch videos at work but will see those tonight and I'm sure it was beautifully worded. Again my prayers are with your family. I find going to different show's forums and finding threads upon threads with no posts kind of like walking through a ghost town. I'm guessing that a lot of them have only just been started by ex Twoppers and that Native Previously People (do we/they have a more concise name like Twoppers?) wheren't interested in those shows. I bet we've probably increased traffic 3 fold. I'm glad this show has a lot of people interested in it so it isn't so sparse. It is funny since we are on hiatus that we seem to be among the more active threads. (BTW I still haven't figured out how to figure out what shows are being recapped at this show and which aren't.)
  9. Since I can't really picture Elsa as a real villain, instead of a magic showdown I'd like the resolution of her problems to be getting drunk at a dive bar with all the female characters (Snow, Emma Red, Regina) , making the beers more frosty for the group by whammying them, and then the party staggering home with Regina and Elsa arm in arm singing "Let it Go." I may have to write this as a fanfic.
  10. Forget Roland not being 5, whyisn't he in his 30's? A friend jsut pointed out to me that Robin and his Men were not in the original curse because they weren't in the Enchanted Forest when Regina cast it and she didn't have a special Hate on for them like she did for Frankenstein and Mad Hatter (they got snatched up special apparently). But if Regina captured Marian back before the curse then Roland will have been born since Marian gave birth to him and that would mean that he and Robin should have aged 28 years while the Storybrookers did thier enless Groundhog Day thing until Emma broke the curse. So baby Emma who is YOUNGER than Roland aged to 28,Roland should be in his 30s and Robyn Hood should be around 60. There is no reason to beieve that Cora's dome was in Sherwood Forest so how does this make sense? This wasn't a problem until they specified that Regina and Marian crossed paths because Marian Robyn's and Roland's stories could have taken place closer to the curse being lifted if Regina had not interacted with Marian, placing thier timelines pre-curse.
  11. A friend and I kind of have a fantasy bet that we will wind up buying Orchestra seats to see her as Ephalba before we shuffle off this mortal coyle. I think the chances are good since (a) Glee is ending, (b) she can sing anything that Idina Menzel can sing, and © you have got to think that money people in Broadway have to have brains that figure "she's famous from tv and we'll get a bunch of teens that don't normally go to Broadway shows into seats if we cast her even for a limited run." I mean they certainly milked that thinking for Grease and it seems to have worked. Does anybody know if she's touring now for her album? And if so does she also sing other songs not from her album?
  12. I'm here from TWOP too. Hate watched this for both seasons although I fell behind season 2. Snookum's recap of the last episode is one of the last things I read on TWOP before the shut down. Unlike other shows that I complain about but have redeeming qualities this show is an unqualified train wreck and I can NOT believe this thing gets another season and actually well written shows don't. I am mourning The Crazy Ones at the moment. Anyway I hope to see you all here when this abomination starts up again.
  13. This is my first post to Previously. (Wow I THOUGHT I might have been the last to post at the old thread but couldn't be sure. I kept refreshing until it went to a screen saying the site was unavailable.) I took Sunday off to honor the passing of TWOP. I am so sorry to now hear of a real loss. I'm sorry Cindy. It is never easy to lose family and I can see the difficulty in the Prom and get away situation. I think you did the best you could with the hand you were dealt. He's old enough that he has to make the decision for himself. You are right that there is no wrong or right in the decision. It has to be what he feels more comfortable with; the way he can grieve easier. Some people need to get away for a while until the feelings aren't so raw. Some people need to be glued to thier family. Each person is different so whatever he decides either (a) it's the right choice for him and shouldn't be judged or (b) was the choice he thought would be best at the time but wasn't what brought him peace but then would be a growth experience so still not wrong in the long run. The most important thing is that everybody be accepting of everybody. My prayers are with your family. I haven't attempted to see what regularlyleaded "scraped" because there are some navigation issues I haven't figured out yet and I don't have facebook (but I think I will soon.) but thank him/her nontheless because I hope to see it soon, I had no understanding on how to save threads. If I had I would have saved the "Rockstar:" thread. I will always remember the discussions of the crazy contestants of season 2 including Zayra who everybody agreed would be beamed back to her home planet any minute and Delana who one poster kept insisting would rule by the side of Satan as his Queen. It was hysterical. Here's hoping to a long and happy run here and that we continue to support each other as friends.
  14. This is my first post here. I'm here from TWOP. I never thought Neal had chemistry with Emma but for the love of God don't leave the poor man just rotting in the woods. It's disrespectful.
